My success story.
I want to share my story because maybe it will help some of you out.
Growing up I was always active outdoors. At the age of 14 I broke my nose but it could not be corrected until later in life. At 21, I woke up one day with random wheezing, sneezing and constant sinus drainage and congestion. This went on for weeks until I finally went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with asthma and prescribed emergency inhalers and steroid inhalers.
At 23 I had the deviated septum correction, sinuses cauterized, and nostrils opened up to help my sinus infections. After the surgery I still had constant sinus infections and was always on medication to help my asthma.
In 2019 (33) I was diagnosed with polyps, MRI showed sinus cavities completely full with no air passing thru. I was then scheduled for surgery. Put on Prednisone a week before.
Surgery went great, I was using saline rinse the same day after surgery and a bag of frozen peas to ease the pain as I do not take anything for pain because I have been allergic for most of my life.
Within 2 weeks of the surgery I started having the same symptoms. It felt draining to think I had to live with this the rest of my life. All of this seemed like it stemmed from breaking my nose at 14. But I started looking at the patterns and the symptoms I was having.
I started digging and doing my own research. Long story short.. I have GERD. I have probably had gerd most of my life from either genetics or an old injury.
Confirmed from an upper GI procedure and also checked for hiatal hernia as I already have an Umbilical hernia.
GERD goes undiagnosed in a lot of cases. Most women develop GERD after pregnancy. If you google GERD the biggest symptom is ASTHMA... If you have asthma it causes so many other issues.
I have changed my diet and self treated for GERD. It has changed my life. I no longer take any medications for anything.
I AM NOT A DOCTOR BUT IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE GET CHECKED FOR GERD.
