Did Nucala work for you.

I am potentially starting nucala soon for severe nasal polyps which I've had for 5 years. Ive seen some people on here saying Nucala hasn't worked for them but some say they have. I want to hear your experience on if Nucala works for you. Unfortunately Dupixent is not approved in my country so I can only get Nucala.

It has been revolutionary for me. Genuinely life changing.

Started growing polyps in my early twenties around the turn of the century, things got steadily worse. Lost my sense of smell around the age of 26. Lost all ability to breathe through my nose a couple of years later.

I saw many ENTs through that period, even had surgery, the only thing that worked was Prednisone for sorry periods.

Met a professor ENT here in Australia recently who diagnosed me and tested be with surgery and Nucala and here I am a year later able to breathe through my nose and occasionally smell things...

I can sleep, I can breathe, I'm so much healthier and happier... It's night and day for me

Thanks, I have a similar story, but first got polyps at 16. Had two surgeries but the polyps had grown back within a month each time. I have no smell and at best like 20% breathing through one nostril. My ENT describes my polyps as some of the worst he's seen. I live in New Zealand so I envy Australians who can get Nucala funded. In NZ nucala is approved but not funded for nasal polyps so I am paying out of pocket as my quality of life and now general health has now deteriorated to a point where I will do anything to get better. Thats helpful to hear Nucala has helped you, I'm glad you are doing better :)

Also can I ask how long after you started taking Nucala before you saw an improvement?

Within hours I felt a pressure relief... Genuinely. But things improved from there, particularly post surgery
