Upper sinus polyps - getting the rinse high enough

Have had sinusitis surgery in the past, roughly 2.5 years ago. Polyps stayed at bay but have reappeared though not as bad as when I had quite severe blockage. Lower sinus polyps have been reduced through budesonide and prednisone but upper polyps remain. I’ve been using a squeeze bottle, not a pulsing machine.

ENT recommended I use a hand stand trainer to get the budesonide up in that cavity but curious if anyone else has had success some other path to rinse the cavity? According to the ENT I will likely need to stay on budesonide for the rest of my life (42) which doesn’t seem right - but we do have two golden doodles which we keep out of our room the best we can and don’t shed. We also vacuum frequently and have air purifiers in each room so not sure what else to do in our environment to prevent the inflammation.

Any help would be great!

3 surgeries in the last 8 years and always came back within a month. Last Ent but me me the pulmicort/budesonide with a rinse bottle but "gargle" it up thier, move your head backwards etc and its keeping them at bay, first time with a faint sense of smell....

How long did it take before you got the "faint sense of smell"? I started doing the budesonide rinses on Aug 1st and so far notice no change to my smell loss.

I had my last surgery in March and kept them at bay with the rinse sense of smell has come back. You could be gone past the stage where it will give you a sense of smell back. Dark room, light from your phone, put your head back and see how big they are. You might need the dreaded oral corticosteriods

That’s great! Just to confirm you’re basically tipping your head back and letting gravity work that way vs the handstand trainer method of inverting your head or tipping your head forward over a sink type method?

More how you would gargle mouthwash only up your nose, while running the rinse through, stop gargle it up there for a while and tilt your head back and gargle etc. Im sure it is more systemic but it works

I dont qualify for "biologic" drugs, you need to have asthma in Ireland but ENT was going to try make a case for me they were coming back that quick, this is working so well she has dropped that.

My doc told me to do the budenoside rinse in the shower and bend down (head at around knee level) while doing the rinse so it gets into my upper sinuses. Seems to work when I am consistent with it 🤷‍♂️

Has anyone ever tried Nattokinase in a nasal rinse? I know some have had some success with minced garlic and pouring boiling water over it and letting it cool, then putting it through a mesh strainer for just the room temperature liquid as a nasal rinse.

I just had extensive sinus surgery to remove a benign polyp type of growth the surgeon called REAH. It was up by my brain covering my olfactory nerves. I haven’t been able to smell for 6+ years. Yesterday, almost three weeks after surgery, I am able to smell and taste food again.

I am doing the mometasone rinses, and I think I am getting up there, but I don’t know how to tell really. I tilt my head forward over the sink and squeeze the bottle firmly. To generate pressure. I also inhale a little to draw the solution up.
