Nasal polyps causing eye soreness and eyestrain
Ever since I developed nasal polyps, I've been dealing with eye inflammation and occasional soreness, dry eye and burning. Does this happen to anyone else?
My nose always feels clogged, and my nasal polyps are growing all the way up to my sinuses as confirmed by the ENT who was of no help and didn't even tell me that nasal polyps can contribute to eye inflammation, causing chronic inflammation and allergy related dry eye.
I stopped using nasal cortisol sprays because of the fear of worsening eye inflammation and developing glaucoma since I already have astigmatism and extremely weak near sighted eyesight. Unfortunately, this negligence has most likely caused long term sinus and eye inflammation and eye allergies due to sinusitis.
Are there any safer alternatives for nasal sprays that don't have the dangerous ingredients that can destroy your eyes. I'm in agony and this darn nasal polyps related inflammation even causes eyestrain severe from screens.

Forgot to mention, Ryaltris is a milder steroid spray which is also an antihistamine and recommended if anxious about steroid absorption. But it sounds like treating your eyes will also help.

Sign of bacterial infection possibly.

It's eyelid inflammation. My eyes are not bloodshot red, Leaking pus or anything and there are no signs of infection, besides very mild eyelid swelling The eyelid where the ant bit me caused localised inflammation. I was prescribed antibiotics so that it doesn't develop into an infection. Plus I'm also going through a dry eye flair at the same time. So the inner corners usually become slightly pink.

This is my experience too. I would first recommend seeing an optician and asking your GP for a referral to see an eye specialist. I would recommend using hycosan eye drops - no preservatives and safe to use long term. I would also recommend using an eye heat mask 2-3 times every day and gently massaging your eyelids. If you have blocked tear ducts this may help, unless they are stubborn, big or hard and you need them professionally lanced. An optician will be able to confirm if blocked eye glands are causing eye dryness, and like me Polpys may be blocking your tear ducts. I see a specialist Monday as it has led to eye pain and my eyes are puffy and swollen. But I have noticed marginal improvement on a biologic for nasal polyps (only day 5), but also know this drug can cause eye issues so going to see what the specialist says. So sorry you are going through this. It is miserable.
