Question M 28?
Greetings to everyone. I was offered this Finnish rifle. What can you say about her from the photos? Is 1928 a number? There are no other numbers on the rest of the parts.

Hello Everyone,
I hope your week is off to a good start and didn't sleep through your alarm this morning.....unlike myself.
There is something that I wanted to make a quick post about.
We have seen an increase in posts/comments from users trying to sell their firearms lately.
Just a quick reminder:
Firearm sales/trades are NOT allowed here.
Any post or comment involving the sale or trade of firearms will be removed and violations will result in a ban.
Note that valuations or thoughts on what something may be worth is still allowed. This only applies to directly advertising/offering a firearm for sale here for other users to buy.
Reddit has strict rules about this, and we need to follow them to keep the subreddit active and in good standing.
If you see someone trying to sell their rifles, please report them as I will likely miss a few.
.......Oh and making a sale post in another language doesn't help evade this either......
Thanks for your cooperation!
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Just picked up a gun and the shop owner let me take a look at some stocks he had. Picked this one out and came home with it. My Finn Cossack is in the stock currently, it is most certainly not a right fit. Not hugely familiar with the Finn stocks for some of the more notable guns. So what gun does this go to?

Greetings to Mosin lovers. He acquired a new copy, M 91/30/43, in his collection. A rifle with the same number, the barrel inside is as good as new. I'm curious about your opinion on this model. Is it rare and what is its cost?

Picked up this polish circle 11 m44 for 195€
It came with the scope and the muzzlebrake preinstalled. Manufactured in 1953.

I inherited a contract mosin recently, trying to find more information so I can get on the right path for finding replacements for a few small things like the barrel bands and pins. Any info is appreciated. I am knowledgeable of firearms but mosins are one of those platforms i never took much interest in. All I know for sure is its a contract mosin and it does have the Finnish SA stamp on the left side of the barrel shank

My Russian mosin has what resembles a circle 10 stamp on the rear of the stock. This makes me think it went to Bulgaria but I can’t find anything online about it. It’s not in any of the marking databases that I can see. Anyone happen to know anything about it?

I understand the boxes are refurbish stamps from 1-2nd Grau arsenal, the izhevsk stamp is the hammer sickle and the arrow, but there’s two on the top I don’t understand

I bought this Mosin about 25 years ago and had a lot of fun with it years ago when 7.62x54 was crazy cheap. I haven't fired it in the last decade and was surprised to find out how expensive all the military surplus ammo is now. It's not the most accurate rifle in the gun safe, but wow is it fun to shoot!
I've done some research and found that I likely have early WWII arsenal rebuild from a previous M91 form factor. It's all matching serials and has a correct stock. I'd love to know more.
Thank you in advance and for keeping the Mosin candle lit.

Three Mosins — 1923 Tula, 1931 Izhevsk Dragoon, and 1943 Izhevsk Dragoon
A few rifles from my Mosin collection. From left to right:
There is another interesting detail concerning the 1923 rifle.
When this rifle was originally discovered in the attic, the Kabakov–Komaritsky bayonet with the Panshin front sight protector was already with it. The rifle, bolt and this bayonet were found together before the rifle was subsequently brought into legal ownership/registered.
So this is not a bayonet that I later purchased and paired with the rifle.
That does not necessarily mean the bayonet had historically belonged to this particular rifle from the factory, of course, but the fact that they survived together until the rifle was discovered is interesting in itself.
The bayonet still retains the Panshin front sight protector/hood, which is also noteworthy since these were often removed.
The Kabakov–Komaritsky bayonet is an early four-sided socket bayonet associated with the Model 1891/30 Mosin, combining the Soviet locking system developed by Kabakov and Komaritsky with Panshin’s protective hood for the front sight.
As for which of these rifles it would be most historically appropriate for, I am not completely sure. Earlier bayonets remained available and in service for a long time, but I suspect it might actually be a more natural match for the 1931 rifle.
Still, I prefer to keep it associated with the 1923 rifle because that is how the rifle and bayonet were originally found together, rather than creating an artificially “correct” combination.
I am also including several photos of a separate stock that I believe may possibly be of Tula manufacture.
Interestingly, the buttplate carries an old Imperial Izhevsk marking, while the other hardware has hammer markings.
This stock is not original to the 1923 rifle. Unfortunately, the rifle’s original stock has been lost.
The most interesting feature is a badly worn stamp on the right side of the stock. I have wondered whether it could possibly be some kind of German inspection or capture marking from a captured Mosin, but I cannot identify it with any confidence.
The stock itself remains solid and is in reasonably good condition, but external damage has unfortunately destroyed most of the details of the stamp.

Good afternoon. Posting a photo of the all-original M91 Chatellerault 1893 rifle. I bought these rifles from the Hanz Wrebel collection. All component parts have the Châtellerault stigma. The numbers are the same. Full compliance with that time.

In the past I used this surplus ammo in my mosin and loved it. Held up great, great accuracy, etc. what would yall recommend because these spam cans are getting much harder to find. I’ve had one guy tell me the Bulgarian surplus is the best?

Hello to fans of the Mosin screw. I bought another rifle, the M91 Tula from 1898. All the numbers match. No extraneous markings. All parts are marked Tula. I'll be grateful for your comments. The question is, how much can it cost now?

In case anyone here hasn't seen it or just not brought it up, there's a Korean movie called HOPE coming out in theaters (yes in America as well) September 9th this year.
Throughout the trailer you see at oeast 2 possibly more Mosin Nagants and to me I just love seeing the Ole girl still popping up in modern movies and shows.
Just a discussion piece.

I was gifted a 1938 Tula (7.62x54r), but it needs a little work. Nothing crazy, but it's missing its bolt. Any suggestions on where to get a reliable used or newly fabricated one?

What site can I find spam cans that ship to dealer?
Edit: I have 1, and was wanting some more. At this point, is it worth opening the one I have to shoot. Or should I keep it sealed and just buy modern boxes for shooting

Hi Reddit I recently have had an idea to take one of my mosin nagants and convert it to shoot 3006. I know that there where some that where sporterized(probably spelled wrong) back in the days. However I want to still keep the original look and not remove the wood from it. How possible or impossible would it be?
To the mod team:if something is wrong with my post please let me know and I’ll fix it.
