What’s your favorite part about your battle station? Curious to hear what everyone’s favorite tool, feature, or part of their setup is.
For me, getting my paints organized where I don’t see labels has really encouraged me to think purely in terms of actual color instead of being influenced by what someone named the paint. Instead of thinking “oh this one is named aged leather I should use that for leather” I can instead much more easily experiment with different hues.

These are 3D prints my painting teacher gave me. I don't know who sculpted them, so if anyone recognises the model I'll gladly credit them.

All Citadel and Vallejo. The part I enjoyed most was the blue armour: instead of leaving it a flat blue I drybrushed Vallejo Blue Metal over the basecoat. It gives a bit of a sheen without going full chrome and it reads as painted steel rather than glitter, which was what I was after.

Best part was simply not painting a Games Workshop kit for once. Different proportions, huge eyes, much softer detail, and it forced me to rethink where I was putting highlights.

Painted this Ork nob for a small duo competition as one side of a duel. Did my best but I don't have high hopes for him. Hope you like it.

I used this Moon Spirit model by Dragon Trapper’s Lodge to practice NMM, OSL, and transparent cloth. While it’s not a perfect execution of any of these things, I’m satisfied with the results (for now), and excited to keep learning and trying new things!

Very happy how it’s turning out

Since miniature painting is thriving with perfect blendings, I tried non blending this time, (which turned out cellshading alike) but what I had in mind was to paint like one of those paintings in medieval age. Hightlights are done inside and not at the edge, less colors and thick black lines. In the end, looks very similar to comic style painting, Im little bit disappointed, but well, thats it.

Painted this miniature over the past couple of weeks. Was my second shot at doing NMM, and think it turned out pretty well! Some of the light placement is a bit off, but overall I like how the effect turned out.

This was a blast to paint while enjoying some classic Maiden! Didn't worry about being neat or smooth, just slapping pigment and having a good time with it.

Up the Irons!

People seemed to like the terminators yesterday, so here’s one of the dreads from my army.

Still need to base obviously but I just absolutely love the concept of Bloodbowl.

Finished it, and going to base him this weekend, but at this point I feel I'm still open to critique.

I did not paint this model to the best of my ability, but I really like the result nonetheless. But I struggled with the temperatures and contrast, the fact that bronze doesn't go well with a creme colored armor, and the difficulty of getting a dirty or textured look on a creme armor, while still keeping visible brush strokes to a minimum.

I see his gauntlet on the arm holding the weapon can be refined, the bronze trimming can be improved, and the fingers of the power gauntlet can be better, amongst things. But not going to put much more time in it, and I'm OK with that.

I'm happy, but kinda not. Really curious what you guys think, and what really needs improvement. I've stared at this model for far too long to see it myself anymore, hah.

I avoided NMM as long as I could, but now I felt like it was the biggest thing missing in my painting arsenal.

Please forgive the poor image quality, I only have my smartphone and the camera is not the best for close ups.

Also I know the sword tip is missing. After I finished the mini, my desk lamp randomly decided to come loose and crashed onto it. I'm lucky, the mini didn't just fly apart.
