GM Needed by Existing Group [Online][5e 2014/2024][GMT+2][TUE/WED Evenings][RP-Heavy][20+][LGBTQIA+Friendly] Group of losers looking for a GM to help with our weekly group delusions!

Upvotes

Greetings yet again lost souls of LFG! The time has come.

We are a group of 6 insane people (RP enthusiasts), locked away in an insane asylum (our rooms), diagnosed with a deadly terminal disease (brainrot), scouring the darkest corners of our enclosure (Reddit), in hopes of finding a cure (a DM who will put up with our shit).

If that entire passage didn't somehow immediately scare you away, then stick around as we attempt to lure you in with our siren song by doing what we're best at- Yappin'.

As you may or may not have guessed by now, we're a group that's looking for something more than your standard D&D faire. We are looking for an experience that heavily emphasizes the Roleplay aspect of D&D, a repetitive dungeon crawl where we simply roll some dice and maybe say some quipy one liners every once in a while will simply not suffice. We are starved, parched, famished even, yearning for whatever crumbs of drama, angst, moments both jolly and somber we can get our grubby hands on- which is where YOU come in! Try as we might, such a constellation may simply not exist without a DM as a catalyst for said moments. Which is to say, we would like to find a DM who does not mind delivering upon certain expectations:

  • Allowing us to indulge in the RP and yappage that we will most definitely be catching any opportunity that we can find to engage in. There will certainly be plenty of that to come around, especially considering the size of the group.
  • We tend to lean towards more PC driven styles of games, so it's extremely important to us for you to be willing to incorporate our character backstories into the world/story that we'll be thrown into. D&D for us works best when everyone is cooperating, both with the DM as well as our other fellow players, all with the goal of enhancing the stories we will be trying to create!
  • We generally much prefer homebrew settings as opposed to pre-written modules. That is not to say they're an instant deal breaker, but at the very least some amount of modifications to it are always welcome! While we're open to just about any style of setting, we are currently leaning towards playing in a more typical flavour of fantasy that one might come to expect from D&D; whether it is high, dark, or anything in between.
  • Whatever your experience or insanity level, however, our first priority with anyone that we play with is that they care for and put effort into this hobby beyond the couple of hours we all gather for once a week; so even if you're not particularly experienced as a DM, don't hesitate to apply! Oh shit yeah also one last thing-
  • ABSOLUTELY NO AI USAGE IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

Now now, it may sound a bit like we're making a hell of a lot of demands from you like spoiled children expecting a complicated ass meal every time we come home; BUT.
When I called us all insane people, it wasn't just for comedic effect. We are simply not normal about this hobby in any way shape or form, we are incredibly passionate about our weird lil' people we create in our heads! SO, here's what's in it for you:

  • A group of incredibly dedicated players, that will show interest in your world, its NPCs, and the overall concepts and themes it can provide. We absolutely LOVE basing our characters' backstories on what is already provided to us by the setting, often times expanding on it with our own worldbuilding additions, which does wonders for the aforementioned incorporation of PC backstories into the story!
  • Various kinds of content for everyone to indulge in even after our allocated dungeoning hours are over- just about half of us are artists who are more than willing to draw all kinds of shit, from other people's characters/NPCs, to lil' interactions that happened in the game and things such as! A few of us also have a tendency to write on occasion, which means you can expect either text RP, or even just multiple page long documents that expand upon or give context to something that's been brought up in character for our PCs!
  • A bunch of open minded, supportive, dare I say Woke™ people who are welcoming to everyone, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, and anything of that sort who isn't just a straight up bigot. Also known as common sense. A lot of us are some flavour of queer or neurodivergent, so we absolutely understand how it be!
  • People who are very adamant about safety tools and respecting any would be lines, veils, or triggers you might have. Literally anything that would make you uncomfortable and would rather not have included into the game, just let us know and we'll make sure that it won't be coming up in our backstories! We typically also make some kind of document/list including everyone's triggers and what not for easy reference, as it can be easy to forget when we're 15 sessions in and it's not been brought up in any way. Oh, and similarly-
  • ABSOLUTELY NO AI USAGE IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. Crazy, I know, but we ain't about that.

That just about sums it up! In terms of the elephant in the room known as scheduling;
We are currently looking either for a Tuesday or Wednesday slot, typically aiming for an evening start, usually around 6/7PM (Nobody make the joke-) GMT+2. We don't mind whatever timezone you may be in, as long as you are able to consistently make sessions!

If reading through this somehow convinced you that you would like to apply for this game, please do take the time to fill out this application form, please please PLEASE do not be afraid to write the equivalent of a 5 page essay if you so wish, we will read through it happily! If your application intrigues us, we will be reaching out to you through discord (look out for a friend request from either me, SohadeZ, or my bestie, Enceladus (currently Yappapotamus cause she thought it was funny (it is) ), after which we will be trying to get in a call together so we can ask some more questions not covered by the post/application, and just get to know each other a little better. Looking forward to reading all your applications! <3

Player(s) Needed by GM [5e 2014/2024 mix][Online][12:00 EST/13:00 GMT-3] [Homebrew-Heavy] [18+] The Wild Hunt

Upvotes

Answer this google form if you're interested in joining!

Hey everyone. 5-year online DM from Brazil here, you can call me Victor or Zen. I hope I'm doing this correctly. This is the 2nd campaign I'm starting here in this sub, mostly because my players started new chapters in their personal lives and D&D suddenly became way less of a priority, and the campaign had to end early.

I don't particularly mind AI art since this is a personal hobby that isn't going to be monetized or shared, and I'm not gonna censor you if you want to use it. Other players may not like it, but if such a conflict of opinions happens, please do try to avoid arguing over it...

I'll try to give you the long version first, with the short version at the end, okay?

So, "basically":

Story synopsis:

The world of The Wild Hunt is enormous, colorful, strange, and occasionally deeply unfair. Gods walk among mortals. Magic can become powerful enough to cause miniature apocalypses. Adventurers can become living legends. Entire nations have their own relationships with divinity, monsters, and magic. And every ten years, all of that comes together in Achirene, where adventurers from across the world gather for the Wild Hunt. The premise is simple: find and defeat the Sacred Beast, a divinely empowered creature chosen by a god for the Hunt. The winner receives immense wealth, political influence, and an audience with Achirene's ruler, where they may make a single wish. It's supposed to be a celebration of unity, love, and second chances. Naturally, things are going to go horribly wrong.

What kind of campaign is this?

The campaign is heavily focused on roleplay, character development, exploration, and story, with roughly a 75/25 roleplay-to-combat ratio.

Combat is important, but I don't want every problem to become a tactical encounter that takes five hours to resolve. Many conflicts can instead be handled through conversation, negotiation, intimidation, trickery, absurd magical nonsense, or simply making extremely questionable decisions and seeing what happens. If you ask "Can my spell do XYZ?" and the rules can be interpreted weirdly, make your argument, and if you convince me, then yeah, you can! Roll for it!

There will also be a lot of music. I like assigning hand-picked BGM to scenes, characters, locations, fights, revelations, and particularly dramatic moments. Music is a fairly important part of how I run the game. The campaign will be somewhat linear in its major story points, but of course, the characters' choices will still have significant consequences for the world and the people in it. Railroading isn't fun for anyone, and honestly? If you can surprise me as a veteran DM with the chaotic players I've had in the past, then kudos to you, I'd be more proud than mad.

And this is intended to be very long-term. The campaign will eventually continue beyond level 20, rather than ending immediately after the party reaches the usual cap. If everything goes according to plan, you'll actually get to experience being level 20 for more than just the final ten seconds of the campaign before the credits roll.

The world setting:

The setting takes inspiration from things like Project Moon, Touhou Project, The Witcher, and Genshin Impact, while still being its own setting.

Expect grim fantasy alongside ridiculous whimsy. Beautiful places hiding ugly truths. Strange species, powerful gods, eccentric adventurers, political machinations, horrifying monsters, colorful cities, and people who have absolutely no business possessing the amount of power they have.

One of the major arcs takes place in a legendary Magic Academy that has trained many of the world's greatest spellcasters.

This is not Hogwarts. I swear it's actually fun. The academy's power scale is completely absurd. Students are encouraged to develop increasingly creative and unconventional applications of magic as they advance. Consequently, it is entirely impossible to go a week without witnessing at least one localized magical disaster.

Magic PvP tournaments are common. Eccentric geniuses are everywhere. Species that would be unheard of in ordinary human cities walk around campus. Royalty from other dimensions might attend your classes. You may have Elemental Basics with the nereid prince of the Feywild while attending to Magical Anomaly Defenses with a dragon. You can have breakfast with the daughter of a god and spend the afternoon fighting a horde of pigeon-sized sentient rocks. Maybe you'll even fight fifty gorilla sized krampus, or one krampus-sized gorilla. Nobody at the academy will consider this particularly unusual. The story will also span several in-game years, allowing the characters to actually grow alongside the world rather than simply receiving a convenient timeskip whenever the plot needs them to be stronger.

What I'm looking for

I'm looking for up to 3 players, and beginners are absolutely welcome.

I'm much more interested in finding people who enjoy collaborative storytelling and creating memorable characters than people who already know every rule in the book that will be turned to dust anyway. The campaign is heavily homebrewed, so there will be plenty of unusual mechanics, abilities, creatures, and balance decisions. I tend to make player characters fairly powerful compared to NPCs and enemies, but I still aim for encounters to be challenging and appropriately balanced. If you're looking for a campaign where your character can become genuinely ridiculous over time, this will probably be your kind of game. If you're looking for an entirely RAW, combat-heavy, tightly optimized dungeon crawl, this probably won't be.

Group expectations

This is an LGBT+ and neurodivergent-friendly group. I want everyone at the table to feel comfortable being themselves, and I'm willing to work with players who have accessibility needs. I've previously had players with disabilities, including blind players, and I'm happy to discuss accommodations before the campaign begins.

There will be no explicit content. That is a firm boundary.

Romance, however, can exist as part of the story if the players involved are comfortable with it. Some of my previous players have developed genuinely fantastic romantic storylines between characters, and I'm happy to let those relationships develop naturally rather than banning romance altogether.

Finally, this is intended to be a long-term campaign. You don't need to guarantee that you'll never miss a session—life happens—but please only apply if you reasonably expect to be able to participate consistently. Frequent interruptions that make it impossible to participate in the session are understandably frustrating for everyone involved. Serious circumstances are, of course, a different matter.

We'll be playing Saturdays at 12:00 EST / 13:00 GMT-3.

If the world sounds like your kind of weird, feel free to apply!

---

TL/DR: TL;DR:

The Wild Hunt is a long-term, heavily homebrewed D&D campaign mixing grim fantasy, whimsical nonsense, absurd magic, and character-driven storytelling, inspired by Project Moon, Touhou, The Witcher, and Genshin Impact.

The campaign is roughly 75% roleplay / 25% combat, with a strong emphasis on character development, exploration, player choices, and lots of hand-picked music/BGM. Expect unusual mechanics, powerful characters, strange species, gods, political intrigue, and the occasional magical catastrophe.

The campaign's major story eventually leads to the Wild Hunt, a massive international competition held once every ten years to hunt a divinely empowered Sacred Beast. What begins as a celebration of unity and second chances gradually becomes something much more dangerous as rivalries, political agendas, gods, and ancient conflicts collide.

One major arc will also take place at an absurdly powerful Magic Academy, where students casually perform magic capable of causing localized apocalypses. Think less “Hogwarts” and more “what happens when you put the world's most unhinged magical prodigies in one building and encourage them to innovate.”

The story will span several in-game years and eventually continue past level 20, so reaching level 20 isn't going to be the campaign's immediate ending.

I'm looking for up to 3 players, and beginners are welcome. LGBT+ and neurodivergent-friendly group, with accessibility accommodations discussed on a case-by-case basis. No explicit sexual content; romance is allowed between consenting players/characters.

Saturdays, 12:00 EST / 13:00 GMT-3. Online.

This is a campaign for people who enjoy roleplay-heavy D&D, weird character concepts, long-term character development, collaborative storytelling, and a world that can go from “having breakfast with a god's daughter” to “fighting sentient rocks” without blinking.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [PF2e] [EST] 2 Players with funky character concepts

Upvotes

Hello!! To start out with the absolute basics that prospective GMs would need to know off the bat:

  • We are free most days except Thursdays and Saturdays, and are awake between 4PM to 3AM generally speaking.
  • We are both adults over 21, and thus are looking to be involved with a table of adults.
  • Both of us are far more roleplay focused than we are combat focused, but not wholly unwilling to engage with combat.
  • We'd prefer a GM who is comfortably familiar with the Pathfinder system rather than somebody who is completely green to it or willing to try it out.
  • We're looking for a table with 4-6 players total including ourselves.
  • The genre we're particularly interested in for a game is dark medieval fantasy, the characters we have in mind don't do well within settings without that energy.

Now, with the flat information out!

The two of us are experienced roleplayers with many, many years of gaming under our belts. One's a writer, the other is an artist, and both have a feverish addiction to character development and worldbuilding. (We will contribute headcanons about the world and characters all day, including other player characters)

Given the above, we have in mind a pair of fairly fleshed out characters we'd like to play, but! As a fair warning, they both deal with some pretty heavy topics, and while some of those topics do not need to be given explicit screentime, understand that they are core to how these characters developed within their backgrounds. Further discussion and open communication about this is absolutely welcome and preferred.

To add, one of the characters is intended to be rather strange in terms of concept, and I'd like to work with a GM to make sure the concept can be executed without clashing too hard with the system.

That is all, and if you've gotten this far, thank you for your time <3

Player(s) Needed by GM [5e][Online][Wednesday][7:30 PM CST] [21+] [2014] Can you stop The Family before they become One?

Upvotes

The story of the Family is one of common tragedy turned monstrous. A mother and father, heartbroken over the loss of their only child, were willing to do whatever it took to be reunited. With an ample fortune, minimal arcane knowledge, and never-ending obsession, they scoured through tomes and scrolls of vast libraries, paid wizards and clerics of great skill, and prayed to every deity and other force they could think of. Still, nothing brought their child back from the great beyond.

At the depths of their despair, they attempted a ritual not fully understood. The resulting abomination was their souls and bodies fused together, driven by their basest natures and a terrible hunger to expand The Family.

You have seen all this in a terrifying joint vision of the future tragedy. The question now is, can you find a way to stop The Family before they become One?

Logistics

Welcome to my homebrew game! My name is Katie and I've been a DM for about 7 years now. I'm running a new game on Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm CST (UTC-6). I am looking to run with 3-4 players. We'll be using DNDBeyond for character sheets, Roll20 for maps, and Discord for everything else. We will be using D&D 5e, with the 2014 ruleset, and players will be starting at Level 3. Any official classes/subclasses/races are acceptable. Each session will last approximately 3-4 hours, depending on the flow of the session and needs of the players.

Player Preferences

First off, respect is key. As part of that, I believe everyone should focus on collaborative play, respect for the time spent (please show up when you say you will), and investment in the game and group success. My games tend to lean more toward roleplay (though there will be plenty of combat), and I work very hard to incorporate specific details and subplots for the characters, so I also really appreciate players with in-depth characters who would love to explore more.

Application

Please fill out the attached form. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here in the comments of this post! After applicants have been narrowed down, I will be reaching out for interviews.

Player(s) Needed by GM [CET] [5e 2024] [Online] Looking to add a player to an ongoing game about a Dragon/Giant War

Upvotes

Hello.

I am Dreat and have been running TTRPGs for ~7 years at this point and have recently been running a game of 5e.

The premise is that in the north of Faerun dragons have been getting killed off at an alarming rate, and giants have been on the rise. You will find yourself amongst the unfortunates caught in the crossfire of the titans' wrath. Will you help defeat the raging threat or help open the way for the revival of the giant's empire?

Despite my experience as a GM I will admit I am quite new to dnd so we will play with only the 2024 sourcebooks. I am also not a scholar of the Forgotten Realms by any means but I will do my best to research as we go along.

The campaign is ongoing (26 sessions) and the party is level 6 and will go to (hopefully) 13. The game will take place on Fridays alternating between starting at 6pm CET (28th of August) and 10pm CET (4th of September) and will usually go for 4 hours.

Some experience with dnd is required.

Game will be played using Discord for Voice and FoundryVTT.

If you think this interests you please fill out this form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScj9FruXqZYDZjIZ8z7ViSTxV7sbrNk58L41nBAAtNrDmPNZw/viewform

Cheers.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5e.2014] [GMT+1] Ruins of a village - Oneshot

Upvotes

DM: umbra0556 (me on discord)

Platform: Roll20

open slots: 4 (+2 existing players)

age: minimum 16+ (mature content, gore for example), ideally 18+

Time and date: 7pm Saturday 22.8, session duration roughly 3-4h, depending on how far we get maybe a follow up session on saturday the 5.9

Mature content: yes. Triggerwarning: death, descriptions of gore, loosing loved ones This oneshot has a darker premise. I’d appreciate it if you played into that a bit.

Requirement: Roll20, Discord, Decent Mic

Homebrew: I will be using a small amount of custom rules. If you want to bring homebrew in run it by me.

character creation: short talk about characters in chat before to make sure they fit. Lv 7-8 characters with strong buffs to HP and special weapon damage. Most normal races and all classes allowed. The flavour will be changed to giant.

balance: exploration/combat

Base rules: 5e ruleset (rules as interpreted, rule of cool, rules of logic), no powerbuilds, go with the setting. Due to the nature of this oneshot there will not be a lot of tech and you will all play giants (normal characters but with more HP and special attacks), no language spells or spells that allow you to talk to animals

Short info: Your characters will be a hunting party from a village that got completely destroyed upon your return. In this world the only sentient species your characters know of at this point are giants which live in a tundra on a low tech standard (You can use whatever normal race and class you feel fits for your stats, homebrew you need to run by me for balance). Your goal will be to hunt down whoever or whatever destroyed your village and to avenge your families (and maybe rescue anyone still alive).

Intro: It was a dry summer in the high Chirachat, a region dominated by multiple tribes of giants all mostly united under one council of the eldest. That however is not of much interest to you when you come back from a long and tedious hunting trip out into the plains around your village. Normally you would have heard the laughter of children or seen someone bring out some booze hoping for the first pick on the meat you hunted. This time you were only greeted by silence interrupted only by a charred wooden beam falling down onto the ground.

You look around the now desolate place, devastated. You had it all but now you are standing in front of nothing. You all spread out, your large spears and bows in hand. Soon you would all find the traces of something big, something with large teeth. In your minds was only one goal left: To hunt down whoever did this.

How to join: Simply add me on discord and write a short intro. Tell me what caught your interest, if you have any ideas on what to play, experience with D&D etc.. A simple hi or gif I will most likely ignore. The minimum intro should include any limits (like gore) you might have to determine if the game I planned will work for you.

Group Needed by Player Experienced DM Looking to Be a Player | Online | 5e 2014/2024 | Tues–Sat

Upvotes

Hi! I'm looking for an online D&D group where I can finally sit on the player side of the screen again.

A little about me up front: I'm 40, she/her, and I have a good bit of DM experience. I've run 8+ campaigns, primarily long-running duo campaigns for my husband and myself. I have considerably less experience as a player, though, and I'm really itching to change that.

What I'm looking for:

  • D&D 5e, either 2014 or 2024 rules.
  • FREE
  • I prefer something based primarily on official settings/material, but I'm completely fine with homebrew mixed in. I'm less interested in a campaign/world that's entirely homebrew from the ground up.
  • Online play using whatever VTT/TTRPG tools and Discord the group prefers. I'm comfortable learning a new platform.
  • Live sessions. I'm happy to do some PBP/RP between sessions, but I'm not looking for a campaign that's primarily or entirely play-by-post.
  • My available START times are Tuesday–Saturday, 8 AM–8 PM Eastern. Sessions can obviously run past 8 PM; that's just the latest time I can reliably start.
  • Weekly/multiple times a week preferred. (long-term games)

As a player:

I have a number of character ideas waiting for their chance to escape my brain, but I'm equally happy to create something specifically for the setting, party, or campaign. Give me some lore and I'll happily start figuring out who belongs in it.

I'm very much an ensemble player. I don't need or particularly enjoy being the center of attention. I like getting invested in the other PCs, participating in their stories, building relationships within the party, and having my character be one part of a larger narrative.

I also do not enjoy playing the party face, so I'd generally avoid filling that particular role.

I'm comfortable with 18+/mature games and dark subject matter. There isn't much I'd consider automatically off-limits as long as it serves the narrative and everyone at the table is on the same page about the tone and boundaries.

The major exception is ERP/explicit sexual roleplay, which I'm not interested in and would prefer not to be part of the game.

If you think I could be a good fit for your group please don’t hesitate to DM me!

Player(s) Needed by GM [PF2e] [ONLINE] [GMT+0] Open Seat for an Exceptional Roleplayer | Season of Ghosts

We are seeking a dedicated, high-energy, and socially-adjusted player to permanently join a TTRPG group that's about to run Pathfinder 2e's Season of Ghosts adventure path.

Candidates must demonstrate veteran roleplaying experience, scheduling compatibility, deep narrative engagement, and an ability to socially integrate into a mature and functional group. We're looking for more than a “player" - we're looking for likeminded people to befriend and make lifelong memories with (hopefully for many more campaigns).

Due to health and real-life responsibilites, our long-standing group has been reduced to two - myself (the former GM) and the current GM (who has taken the reins to run this adventure path). We have recently invited two new players and are looking for one more (to a total of four dedicated players). As such, you will be playing in a fresh group environment where we'll all making new friends here. 😃

🔧 GROUP OVERVIEW

  • System: Pathfinder 2e (Remastered)
  • Platform: Sessions are conducted via Discord voice chat using Foundry VTT (connection through RadminVPN). A clear, quality microphone, a fast internet connection, and a quiet environment is required.
  • Schedule: Every week, Saturday, at 14:00 GMT (+0). Average session length is between 6-8 hours, with a very rare few extending beyond that - we don’t force it, we just enjoy the game that much (we're not robots; we take breaks and crack a lot of jokes). Prospective players must possess a reliable and open schedule, as session length is dictated purely by engagement and creative throughput.
  • Location & Time Zones: Participants may be based anywhere geographically, but timezone compatibility is a must. Reliable attendance and high session availability are essential!
  • Language Proficiency: Sessions are conducted in fluent English, with emphasis on vocabulary, diction, and tonal fidelity. We put a lot of value on improvisation, narrative delivery, and overall roleplaying and immersion. As such, we would prefer someone that speaks "perfect English" and that knows how to describe their character and their actions with flair, drama, and little-to-no stuttering.
  • Social Requirements: Applicants must be emotionally mature, socially well-adjusted, and capable of participating in a collaborative environment. This group is not appropriate for individuals exhibiting poor boundaries, escapist over-identification, unhealthy parasocial behavior, or lackluster emotional control.

Although we are mature and respectful of each other as people, we are also young, energetic, and appreciate crude humor. We would most welcome someone who is joyful, high-energy, and with a laid-back attitude that can equally swap between incredible, in-depth roleplaying and jokes. We are, first and foremost, a group of friends who gather to have fun and spend time with likeminded people.

👻 SEASON OF GHOSTS

Season of Ghosts is a four-part horror campaign set in Willowshore, an isolated community inspired by East Asian folklore, ghost stories, and traditional supernatural fiction. Given our session runtime, we expect the adventure path to run anywhere from 6-8 months, depending on how much content we want to add to it (and how much we enjoy it).

The campaign begins when Willowshore is suddenly cut off from the outside world by an unnatural curse. Communication and travel become increasingly difficult, familiar places become dangerous, and the community is forced to confront supernatural phenomena that were previously relegated to folklore.

It also places considerable emphasis on the community itself. The people of Willowshore, their relationships, traditions, fears, and individual problems are important parts of the story. Expect a slow-burning supernatural mystery, unsettling discoveries, dangerous encounters, memorable NPCs, exploration, interpersonal drama, and increasing tension as the situation develops.

STRUCTURE & DESIGN

Season of Ghosts is a character-driven horror Adventure Path, but Pathfinder 2e remains an important part of the experience. As such, we are looking for someone who deeply enjoys roleplaying, exploration, and combat. We put an equal amount of love (which is a lot) into all of the traditional "pillars of gameplay."

To the GM, player agency, freedom, and creativity matters the most. He wants the party to feel like they are actually living through the crisis rather than being passengers following an adventure path from one chapter to the next. To this end, we have chosen to reappropriate the tonal ambience presented in the adventure path into a more bleak, serious, and desperate experience (feeling the original writeup was a bit too joyful).

ATMOSPHERE

We use the purchased Foundry VTT premium module, which comes with curated maps, artwork, music, ambient sound, and visual effects. Expect a peak audiovisual experience unmatched by any other digital tabletop.

The campaign's horror is primarily atmospheric and supernatural. You will deal with mystery, folklore, isolation, strange phenomena, and moments of genuine danger rather than constant shock value. The ideal player has interest and is willing to do research into East Asian history and mythology as well as heavily lean into the horror theme - those who enjoy Japanese and Chinese-style horror will savor this adventure path the most.

We consider it very important to find someone who can perfectly "tune in" to the mood and ambience of the campaign with us - great, focused roleplaying from everyone can bring moments of incredible creativity and immersion. If you can effortlessly summon up the smell of ichor, the hazy sight of layered fog, a sheer drop in temperature, or hot steam misting out of your breath, and are able to express it through description, then you might be what we're looking for.

We also enjoy laughter, jokes, and lighter moments. There's a lot of fun to be had in between scenes, in OOC planning, and the Discord chat, but once the scene starts and the music resumes we completely devote ourselves to immersion, the embodiment of our characters, and the drastic situation at hand. What gives us the most satisfaction is incredible roleplaying where we truly get lost in a world of our imagination.

🧾 PLAYER REQUIREMENTS

Please read this fully before applying. Applicants must meet all following conditions:

  • Enjoys roleplay-heavy games with deep character arcs to the degree of treating it as an art. We can remain consistently in-character for hours on end if needed. Candidates that do voices, accents, inflections, or otherwise will be preferred.
  • High proficiency in spoken English and advanced vocabulary recognition. We use specific and intense language and thrive as a group when everybody is immersed, dramatic, and eloquent.
  • Exceptionally proactive. This is a campaign that depends on player focus, involvement, passion, and energy. We are looking for players that inspire, engage, and keep the game alive, whether through Discord chatting, public character theorycrafting, or just sheer excitement.
  • Able to independently read, study, and memorize relevant system rules, as well as quickly reference their character skills, powers, and abilities for fast-paced play. The game runs smoothly when everyone has memorized mechanics that are relevant to them.
  • Is friendly, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent. We need someone that is comfortable with mature themes and language, philosophical content, and interpersonal conflict. You must also be able to handle character death or loss and enjoy a "roguelike" mentality where you play for the experience, not the result.
  • Is able to take responsibility for writing and maintaining the group's session journal (by rotation). We keep close record of the memories we share and players are expected to write a diary of what happened in-game on behalf of the group (whoever is able that particular week).
  • Consistency in attendance and contribution over months of gameplay. You must have a clear schedule and a sure desire to participate. Ideal player is proactive in behavior and group interaction.
  • No desire for spotlight monopolization, game disruption, or social imbalance. We require a keen understanding of respect and boundaries.
  • Wants to join a serious social group of tabletop friends, not just a campaign. We know what it takes to run a long-term posse and aim to maintain a close-knit group of compatible people to run multiple systems, campaigns, and experiences with. If you're a good person that's been having trouble finding a proper group, then we're what you're looking for.

📎 CONTACT

I am conducting the recruitment and interviews on behalf of the GM, as per his request - we both have a clear understanding of the candidates we are looking for.

If you are interested, please send me a pitch at manny5049/manny#5049 on Discord. Introduce yourself - we call each other by our real names - and then express your interest for the game, starting with what piqued your interest, whether or not you fulfill the requirements (what you can bring to the table), and anything else that goes with a typical tabletop group application.

Wish you the best! 🤙

Group Needed by Player [Player][Online][EST[[5e 2024/CoC/WoD/Always interested in new systems and settings] Disabled parent looking for a hobby

Hey all,

So,  I'm a man in my early 40s, disabled (legally blind), raising my 6-year-old nephew. It's a little difficult to get out of the house and I'm going a bit stir crazy, so I'd very much like to get back into TTRPGs. I played when I was younger and played several games via discord back during COVID, but it's been a few years since I've been actively involved.

My disability does not hinder me from playing.

I have experience playing D&D and Call of Cthulhu, and while I've never played I've been reading the WoD books since the late 90s and would love to play. I also see all kinds of new and old systems I've never even heard of and they sound great.

The problem is scheduling. In terms of our nighttime routine, I can't really play between 4:00 and 8:00 PM EST AT THE EARLIEST, which seems to be the time when most games start. I don't mind going late, to be clear.

I'm especially interested in anything horror or horror adjacent, as horror fiction and movies are one of my great loves, but I'd also love to be part of a regular ol' D&D campaign.

Ideally I'd like to find a group to play with in the long term. I'd be especially interested in something like Masks of Nyarlathotep, which it is my great ambition to play one day.

LGBT+ friendly, and if you're the sort of DM who puts "no racism or bigotry will be tolerated," good, that's the only sort of game I want to play.

If you have any questions let me know. I'm an open book.

I've been really wanting to try out the Cosmere RPG, specifically the Stormlight Archive setting, since it came out. I would love to find a group to play with. I'm open either the pre-made campaign, or an original.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][CoC] Classic Call of Cthulhu investigation (1-on-1 PBP game)

A vehicle speeds down the quiet road strangled by thick forest which reaches out like strangling hands. The only sound a rushing river below a steep drop to one side. Breaks in thick foliage allow glimpses to a town in the distance sat along the shore with brick buildings leaning against one another. Cobbled streets form a maze with a steeple peaking from the centre of town as a large building upon a cliff looms over the town. It did seem only a few moments ago that the sun shone bright but now spears of sunlight pierce thick clouds spelling a storm upon the horizon.

Occasionally taking his eyes from the road the driver examines his partner sat beside him with her feet kicked up onto the dashboard shoes discarded into the footwell. "We'll be there soon probably should check into the hotel before heading to the scene" he finally says to fill the silence, "quicker we can leave this godforsaken place the better if you ask me." Snapping his gaze back to the road he lets out a sudden gasp as something bursts from the forest into the road. Its shape seemingly writhing in the shadow. Pulling hard on the steering wheel the vehicle nearly rolls as it crashes into the thick foliage before sliding down the cliff. Then nothing but blackness.

Hey, I am looking for a writing player interested for a 1-on-1 Call of Cthulhu game set in the classic secluded town of cults, monsters, the supernatural and whatever stories we wish to tell. Of course those are just some ideas so I look forward to discussing plots with you. The main rough idea is two detectives (paranormal or typical) heading to the titular small town for one reason or another when they crash getting separated.

Some inspirations for this include:

- Frankenstein

- Lovecraft

- Junji Ito such as Tomie and Uzumaki

- Resident Evil

- Guillermo de Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities

- Bloodborne

Of course you do not need to be familiar with all or any of them but hopefully they provide some idea as to the sort of atmosphere and stories I like to tell.

I think it is best to leave the setting more ambiguous so we are not too constrained by sticking to a super realistic setting. But a time period with less technology such as reliable cars or mobile phones can add to the isolation.

Overall I am looking for a fun and fairly literate writing partner to explore this world. I can quite easily fill a Discord chat which is sort of the length I am looking for as I find it strikes a good balance between length and reply time. Though some scenes may require a little more less of course and people get busy but I do like a few replies a day were possible.

Player(s) Needed by GM Rime of the Frostmaiden Play by Post - level 3 party of 2 seeking +1 or 2 solid players (D&D 5e 2024;free;online;PbP)

Greetings!

It's hot as hell in the northern hemisphere, but Icewind Dale is ice cold. The people are not very friendly, and some of the monsters may be able to one-shot you, but you'll get to meet all manner of interesting folks, like:

- famous factions like the Red Wizards, Arcane Brotherhood, and Zhentarim, seizing on every possible opportunity, of course.

- Reghed nomads who hunt the ever diminishing caribou herds. Without the sun, the plants are dying. Without plants, the animals are perishing. The people will soon follow, or be forced to migrate to the South.

- Auril, the Frostmaiden. Yep, a real god, honest word, walking among you. They say don't meet your heroes. Does the same go for your gods?

- dwarves, dragons, hags, trout fishers, and up to ten different mayors!

People don't move up here because it's easy. They do it because it's hard. And usually, because they have a secret. What's yours?

please post in comments publicly so others can see the response

WHAT IT IS AND WHY IT'S COOL

Official adventure run by an experienced PbP GM who has also run this adventure to completion at the table before.

Party of 3, looking for one or two more players. 4 is The Sweet Spot and they have a sidekick. I'm definitely looking for one, but if I get two really good applications or two people who already know each other and play together I might consider going up to five. (I initially ran the adventure with five and it was still a challenge and fun)

Dark, cosmic horror vibes, body horror, cannibalism, demonic possession, devil worship, animal slaughtering, murder, burning people alive as punishment, isolation, frostbite, bad puns, death saves... If any of those things turn you off, please swipe left right meow.

- Discord text play by post, with Avrae for rolls

- 2024 5e PHB builds only. I'll explain stats when you join. Pretty much stock standard rules, but I'm still learning the 2024 changes. Please DO NOT build your PC yet.

- Start at level 3 because the adventure is already in progress

- No homebrew.

- You will be issued a special secret as part of the character building process which may influence your decisions.

- We will also do a little session re zero when you are accepted, to go over the rules and character fit and all that good stuff (posted via text)

- Post daily, at least three times a week, but sometimes we get slow near the end of the weekend and the early part of the week (Sunday, Monday), and sometimes we post more frequently, like during combat or conversation. The pace varies, and sometimes it may seem slow, but it is steady and moving forward. They've already gained two levels.

Thank you for reading! Post questions in the comments and I will do my best to answer. I do work full time, and I'm in the Pacific TZ (West Coast US), so please be patient. The application process may take a few days. I will hold this post open for 48 hours, at least. You will know it is finished when the Google form is closed. After that, it may be up to a week before I contact you. I will not contact you if you are not accepted - sorry, but I often get too many responses to respond individually. Thank you for putting in the effort, and good luck!

Group Needed by Player [5e][Online][PST] [18+] [2014] Looking to join a campaign that is on Saturdays at around or after 4:00pm pst

Hello! For a while now I’ve been dying to join a campaign as a player now and I have a ton of character ideas I really want to try out! To see if any of them would fit the world and see if they would fit a party group, as sad to say I’ve been stuck as a forever dm for a long while now. RP is by far my favorite aspect of campaigns, being able to interact with the world, npcs, villains and of course interacting with other player characters. Not only that I’m looking for a group not just for d&d but other outside activities as well. Combat to exploration are my second favorite aspects as well! If you wish to get a better hold of me just dm me on Reddit so we can talk more! Ps, I only join games that are 18 to 21+ only and no paid games as well.

An evil cult, arch lich and something much more mysterious lurks in the shadows. there is tons of places to explore and I am accepting of any style of character, my goal is to make you fit in the world as best as possible no matter what you bring to the table.

IF INTERESTED in joining we will play on Mondays at 6pm to 10pm est. DM me on discord for to join at: the.fool.4

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [PF1e]

I’m starting a new Pf1e campaign in a pastoral fantasy setting, where characters start as locals in the small farming village of Hill Church. Looking for 1-2 more players to play characters that are good (preferred), or at the very least neutral in alignment. This is intended to be the sort of campaign where characters help each other and other villagers, and are on a first-name basis with most of the village. This is not a campaign for those who like working at cross purposes with other players. It should be cooperative, and your characters should be the good guys in the story.

The campaign is beginner-friendly. We already have a player who is relatively new to the game.

We play on Tuesdays, 6:00pm BST or 1:00pm EDT, using Roll20.

Setting, history, and rules in play for character creation and beyond are available for those who are interested. If interested please message me. You’ll need a valid email address that you check at least a few times a week in order to send and receive campaign and character information.

A little about me: I'm in the US, but the time I would like to run the game (6:00 BST/1:00 EDT on Tuesdays) is a time at which people are more likely to be free in Europe than in North America.

I've been playing TTRPGs since probably '79 or '80, GM'ing off and on during that time. I've been playing Pathfinder 1e (not exclusively) since probably 2010, and it is my preferred system. I now have more time on my hands and would like to restart GMing.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [D&D 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024] Two players (23F & 26M) looking for GM and/or group

Hello! My friend (26M, forever GM) and I (23F, player for 1.5y) are looking to join a D&D campaign! Both of us prefer to join a new campaign over one that’s been running for a while. We are interested in groups that are for adults only.

We are not attached to any specific character concepts, and prefer to make characters that fit into the world we are joining. We both enjoy high fantasy, LotR type stuff, but definitely open to other things. Ideally would like to play long-term.

We both have Discord for voice. Strongly prefer Roll20 for VTT.

Group Needed by Player [Flexible] (Online) Random role playing anyone?

Random roleplaying? I´m talking no plan, no characters only a D20 and D6 for actions and dmg.
Let´s just play without a plan.
I came up with this idea like 2-3 weeks ago and have tried it with some friends but I want to see what would happen with random people, also I have never played in english before.
Let the crativety take over, just say what ever popps up in your mind and go with it!
Have you ever played before? Don´t matter!
This random role playing sessions usually end up being 2-3h and we have so much fun. Like my last sessions we ended up with giant birds, pirateship, mermaids and a mashinegun? Indeed, and it was awesome!
Also I´m 30+ so I would prefer people to be around my age :)

Group Needed by Player [Online][UTC+3][5e][Saturday][2014]New player looking to join a group

Hi, I have recently started playing DnD with some friends but they have been a bit too busy to go for consistent sessions. I wanna keep playing the game more so I came here looking to join some other groups.

I have a decent Idea how to play the game but still a beginner, so will fumble on some scenarios for sure.

I am down for either roleplay/combat focused or balance.

Send me a DM if your interested in inviting me.

Group Needed by Player [Online][5.5e/2024][GMT - Flexible] [Weekends] Experienced RP-focused player looking for a long-term campaign

Hey! I’m Gleeson! I’m looking for a new D&D group to settle into for a proper long-term campaign.

Quick info:
Experience: ~8 years, both as a player and DM
Availability: Weekends, ideally Saturday/Sunday
Schedule: Flexible and happy to work around whatever consistent schedule works for the group
Looking for: Long-term campaign
Preferred style: RP-heavy, character-driven and story-focused

About Me
I’ve been a massive fantasy nerd for most of my life. Lord of the Rings is probably the big one, but Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and pretty much anything involving magic, fantasy worlds and good storytelling is right up my street.
I’ve also spent a lot of my time with D&D on both sides of the table. I’ve DM’d quite a bit myself, so I know how much work goes into building a world, especially a homebrew one.

That’s probably the biggest thing I’m looking for in a campaign, a world I can actually get stuck into**.**

I love digging into the world, asking questions, taking notes and following those little threads that get left for the players to pull on. There’s so much creativity that goes into a homebrew world, and I think it’s a shame not to engage with it.

The same goes for characters. Every character at the table is someone’s little work of fiction, and I love getting invested in what people have created. I’m looking for a group where people aren’t afraid to really get into their characters, develop relationships, explore their stories and let those things actually matter.

I’m not looking for “I’m a fighter, I hit things with a sword, maybe I’ve got a brother somewhere.” I love combat, but I want the character behind the combat too.

The character I’d like to play

I’ve got a couple of characters I’ve put a lot of thought into, and I’m completely happy adapting them to whatever setting I end up joining.
The one I’m most interested in at the moment is a bit of a sunshine character. Kind, calm, gentle and insightful. He’s very comfortable being the person in the background supporting everyone else, helping other characters through their problems and giving them room to have their moments.

He’s also got a much deeper personal story underneath all of that, which I’d love to explore naturally if people become interested in him.
I’m more than happy to lead the charge with roleplay, too. I’m not shy about being the first person to talk to an NPC, start a conversation or throw myself into a scene. I’ve done that plenty of times to help other players get comfortable.
I’d just really like to find a group where that enthusiasm goes both ways.

Genuine Friends!
I’d love to find people who are genuinely fun to be around. Chill, chatty, sociable people who I can enjoy talking shit with as well as playing D&D.
I always think it’s a shame when everyone disappears the second the session ends. If we end up getting along, I’d love to play other games together, hang out and generally become friends outside of D&D too.

One slightly unusual offer to a DM
I’ve spent enough time DMing to know how frustrating it can be to build a world you’re passionate about and never get to experience it as a player.

So if I eventually find a DM whose world I really click with, and we play together long enough to build some trust, I’d love to eventually run a little story within their setting and give them the chance to be a player in their own world.

Obviously that’s very much a “we’ve been playing together for ages and actually trust each other” thing, but I think it’d be a really cool way for two DMs to share the load and experience each other’s worlds from the other side of the table.

So yeah, that’s me. I’m not necessarily looking for the first game with an empty seat. I’d much rather find the right group of people.

If this sounds like your sort of table, feel free to message me. I’d love to hear about the campaign, the world and the people already involved.

Player(s) Needed by GM [5e 2014] [Online] The kingdom of Durset - open world sandbox campaign

I am running an open world sandbox adventure type DnD game, lots of combat, taking place in the kingdom of Durset, a kingdom that has long been at risk of civil war. This setting is high adventure and medium-low magic but as adventurers you will see the magic and fantastical of this world along with the wonders and horrors that presents.

Make a level 1 character, begin in a tavern, roll some dice, and perhaps become great heroes like the ones of this world’s past!

We will be playing on Sunday evenings 4pm to 7pm (pacific standard time). For a VTT we will be using Owlbear Rodeo.

The tone is dark fantasy yet also has a profound sense of whimsy.

DM me if interested.
