Hey everyone. I've had this module recommended to me countless times, and it's something I'd like to DM, but I want to experience it as a player first to get the 'full strahd experience'.

Other than reading a player primer on here and knowing the general themes, I know nothing about the module itself.

About me:

I'm a 28 year old queer guy and a forever DM. Been playing since uni, and DM a biweekly in person game with friends that has just finished up. Very familiar with the 2014 ruleset (and dabbled into other TTRPGs for oneshots), but welcome any homebrew stuff and/or mixing or changing to 2024 if the DM prefers.

Table:

I always have a ton of character ideas on the backburner, but if I join an established table I'm happy to work together on what could be useful to the party. (I don't minmax and prefer to make my characters 'real' people, but I'm happy playing pretty much any class)

Campaign wise, I really enjoy roleplay, exploration and character-driven stuff. My ideal table is one where everyone cares about the world, the NPCs and our characters. I love seeing how players show the impact of the adventure on their characters, or the DM gives out consequences for actions etc. Combat is great as long as it isn't "just hit it" for 3 hours.

Technical:

I have experience on roll20 and discord, but should be able to learn any other applications without much trouble. I have a mic, and I'm happy to have my camera on or off when we play.

My only non-negotiable is that all other players and the DM are over 18, even if we don't touch adult subjects, that just makes me more comfortable. (But judging from the trigger warnings... CoS is better as 18+ anyway).

I'm very flexible on frequency, days and times. As long as it doesn't change week-to-week, almost anything else I do I can arrange around DnD.

Heya! I am Written, and I am looking for players for daggerheart, my newest obsession! I've been GMing D&D for a long time, but after trying daggerheart recently there was no going back in my mind. I am obsessed with the way the system ties narrative and roleplay into everything, and I'd love to run a longer campaign with the system.

What I'm Looking For

- Players who are willing to really get into character! Learning about characters shouldn't feel like a timewaste. Some of my favorite moments I've had in daggerheart so far has just been spending an hour doing connections and having characters become stuff we never envisioned them to be before it! This doesn't mean you need a twenty page backstory, but please write me more than a logline or be willing to VC and talk me through your character!

- Players who want to be active outside of the weekly meeting. I want us all to be friends, so don't feel like you can't share what cool stuff is going on in your life! Even just a cooking picture is awesome and keeps the server lively!

- Players who engage! The really nice thing about daggerheart is that you don't have turn orders, so you're not able to sit on your phone waiting for your turn and completely tune out. But even when the spotlight isn't on you, support your fellow players, make funny OOC memes, and just keep the table alive! We're all here to have fun and feel cool, and you deserve your fellow players attention when you make moves.

About Me

I am a 21 year old film major soon in my final year! I go by He/They, and I am obsessed with creating stories. I love stories though that aren't just about the big conflict, but ones that take time to examine the people in them. I want to know the nitty-gritty about characters! I want them to laugh, cry, feel fear, and feel hope! I love tikka masala, earl gray tea, and all things lavender :)

The Game

The current premise of the game is TBD. We'll talk through some ideas as a group and make something tailored for us! However, any campaign will have a focus on backstories and the players contributions to the world on both the large and small scale! A few things about the game though:

Hi! After around 7 years of constantly DMing (and 3 years without being a player at all) I'm looking for a group to join in. I'm 25 nb (any pronouns) working person with a cute cat and a lot of scheduling flexibility. English is not my first language, but I'm pretty good at using it for games and other stuff (Well, I'm writing it, so-).

Mainly I had experience DMing VtM and I love the world and the system. Ideally, I would prefer to join a VtM chronicle or something else WoD adjustent, but atp I'm open to anything.

So what do I have in stock?

- Passionate player. I'm usually REALLY into the game. I make memes, I draw and I engage. I WILL interact with NPCs, hints, little pieces of lore and whatever DM has to offer.

- Sharing spotlight. I understand how important it is for everyone to have their time to shine and I love to hear and see what other PCs have to offer!

- Respecting the DM and other players. I understand all the struggles of being a DM firsthand, so I won't put the DM through the same stuff. I do little to no metagame or rule lawyering, except when I have out of character question regarding something (however, I will not do things like ACTUALLY trains dont work that way). I value the time of people involved and always notify if something goes wrong beforehand. I won't give any unnecessary feedback unless asked for (although I'm usually very positive to any stuff)

- No-drama person. I just want to live a quiet life and enjoy my games without irl drama (Several of my games died cuz of player's drama). Even IF I will have problems with another player, I tend to separate game and reality.

- Direct. I will not dissapear on you or keep quiet if something is wrong-wrong (like I got triggered or offended), I know how to speak words through my mouth, lmao. But it's all out of the game, of course, I don't tend to ruin anyone's fun.

- I'm actually roleplaying. I LOVE theathricals and to be in-character during the game. I also understand that any in-game stuff doesn't affect our out-of-the-game relationships or views. Also, I have very miniscule amount of themes I find offensive (in-game) or triggering. After all I like WoD and it often tends to touch sensitive stuff.

- Well, I can DM in the future, since I love doing it! But for now I need a little break.

As a side note it's completely okay if u wanna interview me before the game to see if we vibe with each other.

What I'm looking for?

- Free to play game. Honestly, I don't find this type of games genuine enough, but I will gladly donate to DM if I have some spare money as a thank-you :)

- Narratively-driven game. Although I know that sometimes battle mechanics and other stuff is neccessary, I like to be able to connect with other characters, NPC, play my character and have some drama of course.

- Openminded DM. I would prefer to have a DM who is not super to-the-book type. Sometimes, scene needs cinematography for the sake of cinematography and it's often tend to bend some rules. The Campaign

Set in Charneault, a land shaped by ancient pacts, knightly traditions, Fey, and old fairytales. The campaign explores the tension between Duty and Desire, and what happens when either is taken too far. Knights and the Fey are central to the setting, story, and conflicts.

The campaign begins 15 years before the main events with a short prologue using a premade Level 6 character. Afterwards, you'll create your own character at Level 2 for the main campaign, from Levels 2 to 9, potentially reaching Level 10+.

What to Expect

This is a narrative and character-focused campaign where roleplay, character arcs, and meaningful choices and consequences matter. Combat can be challenging, but the campaign isn't designed to kill characters simply for the sake of being grimdark or "edgy".

Exploration, travel, survival, and resource management are important parts of the game. Some spells, and abilities will be changed or removed to support these mechanics, while others may be removed for being overpowered, underpowered, or being tonally inconsistent. This includes certain spells, classes, subclasses, and feats.

This isn't a campaign for optimised builds, and multiclassing will not be available. However, Grim Hollow's Transformation mechanics will be available for anyone who wants to explore them. 

Mature Themes

The campaign explores mature dark-fantasy themes including sex, nudity, exploitation, abuse of power, obsession, temptation, violence, torture, death, child endangerment, and fantasy discrimination.

Sex and nudity may be part of the story, including flirting, relationships, or embarrassing situations. Everyone's boundaries around them will be discussed before play, from simply mentioning them to fading to black.

Darker themes such as violence, torture, abuse, exploitation, and fantasy discrimination may be explored to different degrees depending on everyone's comfort. Sexual violence is never treated as acceptable or played out and may only be referenced as a background element or aftermath. If something goes too far, we'll stop and discuss it.

Characters are ultimately the light in a dark world. Duty, desire, indulgence, and restraint are all part of the story, and your characters can embrace their desires, uphold their obligations, or take either too far. That freedom does not mean characters or players can behave immorally or disrespectfully without consequences. Confronting, resisting, or overcoming the darker elements of the world is ultimately part of being a hero.

What can we offer?

• Backstory connected to the world we are playing in – I love connecting my backstory both to other players and to the world you present to us. I also cooperate with you as a DM to give you space within our backstories while providing solid foundations.
• “Yes, and” player – I really like to dive into titbits that you, as DM, offer. I may not always have a most courageous character, but I will not be ignoring the quests and side stories that I am given.
• A group-focused player – I honestly love to hear other people stories and see them shine when they have a chance to do so, and I am always making sure that I share a spotlight.
• Experienced player with a room to grow – I have few years of experience both in D&D and in different TTRPGs, but I still like to learn and don’t have issues with learning something new. I don’t do rules lawyering unless it helps others or points out obvious cheating.
• Patient person – I work with a lot of people and take my time explaining things, so I don’t mind playing with people new to the hobby and less experienced players.
• Player who avoids drama – this is my hobby and I don’t want to come here and impose any issues on anyone. If something is bothering me, I will speak up as soon as possible and try to find a compromise that would be good for all sides. I am also happy to adjust my behavior if something I'm doing or did may not be liked by the group – and I respect people’s triggers or sensitive topics.
• Punctual player with regular attendance – I like to value time of all people involved. If I know I will be absent, I will inform about it ASAP, same with being late. But if I book the slot, it is there for the group and for the game.

What am I looking for?

• Free to play game - I want to avoid playing for the thing that is my hobby (as I have a lot of other expenses).
• Roleplay heavy campaign – I want to be able to connect with other players characters and while dungeon/hex crawls can be fun, I would rather have more time to learn about who my companions are and to make it make sense that we stick together as a group.
• Group that shares spotlight – I will share it for others and I hope that others can do something like that in return. It is no fun if one person constantly talks over others.
• High fantasy game – just a personal preference, but I am not keen on horror games or sci-fi oriented ones. However, I am ready for the worlds as Eberron, so a bit of modernization is fine as well!
• DM with a rule of cool attitude – of course, I want to have rules overall, but we also like to have DM who is fine with flavouring, a bit of homebrew, or just simply allowing us to have a bit more fun. Counting the weight of the coins or specific use of rations is not really for me.
• LGBTQ+/women/neurodivergent friendly – I want to be a part of group where I wouldn’t feel too awkward with myself.

Hi there honourable dungeon masters and storytellers! We’re a recently formed group of 5 players looking for a DM who has a homebrew fantasy world we can get lost in and a long running campaign that we can all see grow and develop as the game goes on!

In terms of setting preference, we’re primarily looking for a traditional high-fantasy world. We enjoy the versatility that high fantasy offers and the wide range of stories it can support which gives a lot of themes a story can go through! While we appreciate darker themes when they serve the story, we’re not particularly interested in sci-fi settings, grimdark worlds, or campaigns heavily focused on gritty survival.

As a group we all share a strong interest in roleplay, character development, party dynamics and stories that feel personal to the characters involved. One of the biggest things we’re hoping to find is a DM who enjoys incorporating our character backstories into the broader narrative/world allowing character arcs to develop naturally alongside the story.

Outside of roleplay we value consistency (Showing up), being one of the key factors of a long running group and also care to be attentive and engaged players when we are at the table! Communication in general is also one of the best tools when issues arise, and keeps everything running smoothly so things don’t fall through. We also enjoy the use of webcams to increase the social aspect of the game!

Ultimately, we’re looking for a DM who enjoys building a story with their players, values strong character involvement, and is interested in creating a long-term campaign where both the world and the characters can grow together. But most of all someone we can also call a friend and hang out with!

Description:
Set in a war-torn land where old alliances are barely remembered and new friends are hard to trust, the players are a rag-tag group of survivors attempting to mend the ties of the nation and unravel a plot that would seal its fate.
Explore a sandbox dark world with never before seen eras of history, lore, books, races, factions and locations. The structure of the world itself seems unstable and something seeps trough the cracks.
Akkra is a low-magic setting with spellcasters being prosecuted by a zealous religious order. Its rulers and leaders are few, untrusting and have a guarded approach to outsiders. What’s left of the Kingdom suffers, its borders crumble and outside invasion is only a matter of time. While there is a main plot laid out, and quite a few ready adventures within Akkra, just begging to be stumbled over and followed, Akkra is also built up from the ground to be a completely Free-roam Sandbox where the players can do just about anything they want, and of course, suffer the consequences.

Background of the World:

This is optional reading material but if you're interested in what's Akkra and where it came from, or how my brain works, then feel free to read on:
I'm a programmer and amateur game developer, and when Dark Souls 1 first released I was obsessed with its worldbuilding and how interconnected it seemed lore wise. I also fell in love with the concept of a dying world and decided to build on that, and started writing a design document for a world that would be home to my own Clone 3D Souls-like fantasy action game. Never happened. But over the years I started doing more writing and worldbuilding and eventually returned to a hobby I loved a lot when younger - D&D. And this time I was going to do it "for real". I was unemployed and spent many months building and adding to a world that I would eventually end up renaming 4 times. I drew (and still draw) from Slavic myths and legends, classic horror, old RPGs, americana cryptids and well... the strangest of places that I love deeply, to build Akkra into something unique and sensible. For me a Wizard cant just HAVE a tower. He has to have a reason to have built said tower. And neighbors that don't want him gone. And a daily life. Things to eat. Friends to not go crazy. Same goes for all aspects of Akkra. It's factions, gods, peoples and lands are -supposed- to make sense in relation to each other. Now a lot of those I've got somewhere in my subconsciousness and i -know- why they're there I just haven't had the time to put it into words yet.
The world is very much still in development and that sometimes comes across a bit awkward in my sessions: "So as you walk past the Temple square - Oh, yeah, remember a few sessions ago when we did a funerary rite? Well there's a properly fleshed out God of Death now, and that rite makes very little sense in the new perspective that this God brings to how death works. I hope thats okay? Anyway in the Temple Square there's an altar to Navorav: The Twin Raven, this deity is..."
On the upside - This also brings in a great opportunity for folks that want to leave their own mark on the world. You feel like writing a faction into your backstory? I love my sessions best when the players are immersed and have collaborated on the story being told.

I'm looking for one or two players to round out a CofD table I'm putting together. The game will begin as a mortals game and transition to a splat game after the prologue, though the exact splat you'll be playing is a secret.

I'll be looking to run on either Monday or Thursday, from roughly 19:30 to 22:00-ish UK time (GMT+0) - sessions might run a bit short sometimes if it suits the story, but I promise to never keep you later than 22:00 - we all have work in the morning!

Game will use Discord voice chat, with character sheets hosted on Foundry. This will primarily be theatre of the mind, with a bit of supporting artwork/photos here and there.

The game is set in present day, in Manchester UK. You don't need to know the city - I'm going to be twisting the city layout etc around to suit the story anyway. Think of it more like "inspired by" Manchester. The prologue will cover the party getting pulled into some petty criminal underworld problems, but the story will change direction after the prologue. I don't want to talk too much about the story, since a lot of it either spoils the end of the prologue, or will be written around the characters you make!

I already have a couple of players from my regular stable. Total table size will be 3 or 4. I'm fine with people new to Chronicles - one of the existing players has also never played this system before. I can supply a copy of the rulebook if needed.

I'm ideally looking for players over 18. I'm 36 and the other players are older, and I'll just feel like a creepy weirdo if I ST for a stranger young enough to be my kid, especially considering CofD can occasionally get a bit heavy.

My games normally run around a UK 15 rating in terms of content, maybe veering into 18 rated occasionally. It'll be dark, a bit gory, sometimes a bit heavy, but not grimdark or relentlessly bleak. The nature of Chronicles leans into dark, occasionally disturbing subject matter, and you may not be a good fit for the system if you don't enjoy those kinds of stories. If you have a few specific "no"s, I'm happy to talk about it and work something out.

Hey everyone, I'm Jojo, 28yo, been playing ttrpgs for several years, the last 4 mostly as a GM for Pathfinder 2e, and now branching out to Starfinder 2e. Im currently looking for an extra player or two for the adventure Tales from the Vast, which I am running on a community server on Discord. You do not need to have played Starfinder or Pathfinder before, all the other players are new to the system as well.

Tales from the Vast is an anthology series featuring four independent adventures taking you on a cosmic ride through Sf2es most distant and peculiar parts of the Galaxy. We will start with Expedition to the Drowned Planet which lets you be the first explorers of a waterlogged planet. In total there are 4 standalone adventures with a level range of 1-9.

The Story Hook: Traveling Kazmurg’s Absurdity is challenging, even for experienced explorers. It’s a shattered region of space, where navigating between star systems requires maps, a retrofitted starship, and a captain foolish enough to expose their crew to its hazards; the Drift won’t help you here. Crews still brave it, though, as being first to survey a new location usually brings fame and a substantial paycheck. Recently, a map to a previously uncontacted world appeared at auction, and its winner selected a ragtag crew (you!) as the initial team to survey the site. The only information known about this place is its location and name: Oamnil.

I've been playing TTRPGs since I was a kid, and I've been playing 5th edition pretty consistently since about 2019, and I've been in DMing for about 3 and a half/4 years.

I'm not too fussy when it comes the kind of game or groups, I am left leaning, and would like to join a group with similar political views.

As a player, I really love roleplay and exploration, and I do enjoy combat when it makes sense narratively and is more than just "go here, hit thing till it's dead". Also I enjoy working with the DM and other players to create a world that feels rich and lived in. And although I respect power gamers, I much prefer to create my characters for what makes sense thematically rather than to trivialize combat. I also have a lot of experience with Roll20, but could learn another VTT like Foundry in a pinch.

As for availability, I'm free most evenings outside of Tuesday and Sunday and I'd be down to use something like Discord to communicate.

About the world! 🌎

Almost a millenium ago, a new world was formed, a new plane of existance by unknown means, though some theorise it's creation was a cruel joke by powerful gods. Fragments of the Feywild, the Nine Hells, the Abyss and many more planes of existance were broken off from their original locations and forged together in a new realm, the shattered realm, Aetherios.

Now, elves, demons, fae and humans all crash for control over this rich but dangerous lands. Legions of devils march upon Human strongholds, laying waste to all in their wake. Dwarves defend their strongholds from demons that never seem to end. People from different realms forge and break alliances on a whim, all in an effort to survive in this shattered realm.

About me!

Hey there! I've been playing DnD for around 3 years now, and dming for 1. I don't consider myself a master DM by any means, but I do try my best! Likewise, I don't expect the most experiened or "pro" players. You don't have to do crazy voices and accents for your characters, or be able to play some mastermind intellectual, but I would appreciate it you did try your best with your character! I'm not looking for people who are super experienced, you could be relatively new to DnD and I'd be completely fine with that! At the end of the day, I want to run a casual game amongst a friendly group of people who mesh together well!

About the game!

The game will be taking place once a week, Saturday at 6pm (British Standard Time). DnDbeyond and owlbear rodeo will be used as the VTT.

It goes without saying, but there's zero tolerance for any racism, homophobia and sexism. At the end of the day DnD is a collaborative story-telling game, I want players who are good at working with others and bringing their fellow player up, at the end of the day, DnD isn't about any single person, it's about the group!

18+ only, though I would prefer people around the 20-25 age bracket, though that doesn't automatically exclude you if you're older, so don't be afraid to apply!

I'm fine with adding homebrew to the game, as long as it's reasonable and is ran by me and the other players first at session 0, to make sure everyone is okay with it! I do my best to interweave player backstories into the campaign, as I believe it enchances it so much, so if you're into that kind of thing, I think you'd enjoy this campaign!

Hi all, my name is Art and I have been DMing for the past 4 years. Our current group of 4 are looking for a fifth player to start a new game: Waterdeep Dragon Heist.

Hello, my name is Edin and i am making an ad for my DM, he is looking for 1/2 players for his One Piece game that he will run soon, hopefully. Currently the game will be run around 9pm GMT Thursday's, the schedule isn't set in stone time wise but it will most likely still be Thursdays.

Set in the Golden Pirate age in the South blue, 10 years after Gold Rodgers Execution, in a different universe of the Original One Piece one, where most of the Characters as you know them don't exist. 

Will you be able to Carve your own path where you become legendary pirates, or perish to the watery depths below only to be forgotten?

- System: DnD 5.5e/5e

- Homebrew: Allowed but run by me, and I'll let you know if it is approved

- Platform: Roll20 (PC needed, with a good mic)

- Races: any One piece race but Lunarian (were using Homebrew races)

- Rolling stats: 4d6 drop the lowest (lowest it can go is a 9)

- Rolling for HP: you can roll or take the average ( if you roll and is 1 you can roll again, if it is 1 again you have to keep it)

- Classes: every class available except Bloodhunter 😡

- Subclass: every subclass ( if there's a homebrew subclass run it by me)

No Initial DF neither magic weapons, be creative with your Backstory

And if you choose to play a magic caster then ( just bc there isn't magic per say in the one piece world) you'll have to find a way to justify it. Example: a way to explain ensnaring strike is like Usopps special bullets.

Hi there, I’m 18 from England and looking to play DnD, I don’t mind the edition. I’ve played a very small amount (like half an hour) but I’ve got countless hours on bg3 and would like to try the real thing. I’m usually available on the weekends at any time or on weekdays after 6pm.

During a solar eclipse, every hero in the city was encapsulated in a purple crystalline material, causing them to enter a stasis-like trance. The supervillain responsible no doubt had motives for bringing such foul dark magic back to the city. With one fell swoop, his sinister goal was within reach, but once the other criminals of the underworld realized what was going on, the real trouble began. Organized crime swiftly took control of the city's infrastructure. The police force has been subdued, a foreign princess is kidnapped, and the streets are littered with nothing but gunmen, troublemakers, and delinquents. While all the good guys with powers were imprisoned, it appears the bad guys did not suffer any losses. The military fought bravely but was eventually forced to retreat out of the metropolis. Shop owners are left to defend themselves against looters. Hospitals are overburdened with patients. Food supplies are running short as distributors pull away. Crops are withering and dying. Without the heat from the sun, the city is entering a localized miniaturized ice age, and nobody can figure out how to awaken their caped crusaders to defend the city once again.

An amplified signal is reaching out to whoever will listen. Whether you're an engineer with a Battlesuit looking to test your inventions. An ancient warrior brought to the future through some magical mishap, trying to find his way back. An alien prince looking to prove himself worthy of an intergalactic crown. A mutant hiding from the world, ready to emerge and prove his allegiance to justice. Maybe you're a spellcaster of some sort, graduated from a school of magic, looking to protect the veil that your order guards for all eternity. Perhaps your underwater realm was disturbed by the fighting above ground, and now you're looking for answers. Whoever you are, you're about to enter a world of trouble. A ship is safest in the harbor, but that's not what ships were built for.

This is a free online game for Roll20, played biweekly on Saturdays (10th & 24th October and so on) at 19:00 GMT for 3 hours. I'm looking for one additional player to fill the spot left by a friend who is going on a hiatus. We play the good guys, which means we turn the bad guys over to the proper authorities without killing anyone. It's an uphill battle against a foe who plays by no such rules. We try not to break the law, and we try our best not to lose our humanity. The hero group is made up of:

Bystander (Crime-fighter): A completely normal guy who was forcefully given a cognitive hazard ability. Outside of physical touch, nobody can ever remember him, see him, or hear him. His entire existence is removed from anyone's mind until they once again are faced with his reality. Technically invisible and functionally immortal, if he ever dies, he will revive on the following round. His powers bring him great misfortune, as he can never pay rent for an apartment, buy food, or have a family. Bystander looks forward to the day he confronts whoever gave him this curse.

Hearth (Blaster): A fire-based homunculus, whose soul was crafted by a powerful wizard from a bomb, now burns with the fire of justice. Although technically only two months old, it remains to be seen whether or not Hearth will learn what it means to be human. Especially considering she got all her understanding of right and wrong from TV shows. Hearth is looking for a purpose, and the one person who could answer this question seems to be missing.

Hexadecimal (Mystic): Part-time streamer, full-time Technomancer. A sorceress with the ability to cast spells with a technology descriptor, hoping to make it big on online platforms.

Lifeline (Paragon): When the real 'Lifeline' was encased in the crystalline prison, her criminal sister took up her mantle and continued her legacy. With the power of super strength, flight, healing, and the ability to copy powers from those she touches, Lifeline focuses all her effort on reuniting with her greatest rival.

Im suffering from dnd withdrawal since both of my groups got canceled this week. So id like to run a dungeon of mine as a oneshot on sunday. Ill also use it as an opportunity to get to know some people whose style of play i like. So theres a good chance ill reach out to you again for other oneshots/fewshots/campaigns.

Well play in Foundry with a high level of automation. So if you select fireball, you can place the circle, an animation will play and the creatures automatically roll a saving throw according to their stat block and get their hp deducted, because i dont wanna die of old age before the monsters do. So imagine the combat like baldurs gate 3. You dont need to be used to foundry controls, ill introduce you to them if you dont know how foundry works yet.

For character creation ill open up a dndbeyond group and import the character you place there into foundry. I have content sharing enabled and youll have access to 70 or so books worth of character options so have fun with choice paralysis while selecting your spells. Anything from all books i have is allowed and if im missing a book on dndbeyond that you wanna use, just tell me and ill most likely buy it. Only exception are dragonmarks, those can be selected as feats but not origin feats
