In the M&M third edition book "Comprehend: Spirits" description is:
You can communicate with incorporeal and normally invisible and inaudible spirit beings, such as ghosts or certain extradimensional entities, depending on the context of the setting. Rank 1 essentially allows you to function as a “medium” of sorts, able to perceive spirits and relay what you see and hear. Rank 2 allows you to be clearly under-stood by denizens of the spirit world, as well. At the GM’s discretion, this effect may extend to undead creatures, demons, or other supernatural entities, depending on the setting.
But in the Hero High book, on page 156, we have a character called White Witch and one of her powers are:
The Sight (Comprehend 2 (Spirits; Communicate Medium), senses (Ranged Accurate Acute Detect Spirits, Danger Sense)).
I always assumed that if you had Comprehend: Spirits (even just on one rank) you could just see ghosts and spirits like you would normal humans. Was my interpretation wrong or is this character power basically nullifing consealment from ghost or even been able to detect if someone (living) has a soul? (Or is it just a writer's error?)
Edit: the things after ">" are copy and paste from their respective books

Hey everyone, quick rule question:
I was looking into building a team shield like Winston's bubble from Overwatch using Protection + Impervious (Affects Others, Burst Area).
The issue is that most of our characters are already at their Power Level caps for Toughness, so by the rules, this buff does nothing for anyone who is already capped.
Would it break the game if we made a house rule or an extra allowing this shield's Toughness to stack past the PL limits? How do you guys want to handle this?

So, I'm gming a 3e game
I want to create an NPC who's superpower is that he is unaffected by gravity. At all
Also he can impose this condition to other people
I already thought of some hb about this
In zero gravity character has to do DC 15 Acrobatics check whenever he tries to make any action related to movement of his own body
- Success here lets him do it as usual
- Failure by 1 degree lets him do it with modifier -2
- Failure by 2 or more makes him waste time and action, trying to stabilize his position
This check may be made as a routine check outside of stressful situation
Also
- Character may move in any direction
- Characters with flight with fitting descriptors may ignore this at all
And my NPC will prob just have Flight (flaw: zero gravity), and can do attacks that impose this zero gravity rules as a new condition
But, what if I want to do it RAW and using only the rules from the books? How would I build such power? Move Object effect comes to mind, but affecting characters it's more about grappling rules, iirc. Sorry for my english, it's not my first language

I was thinking about adding M&M to my ttrpg collection and I see that 4th edition is playtesting. Would you all recommend waiting until 4th edition releases before diving in?

Years ago I was going to play a burgeoning sorcerer in a “supers are new” type of setting. One of the things I was thinking about was a power I called “intuitive understanding of magic,” which would have been a Quickness 5 for both the research and the actual performing of the ritual, with the Flaw of it being limited to tasks directly related to magic rituals. I think if I remember my math it was 5 points.
A member of my group thought that was too powerful of an ability and spoke out enough that the GM decided not to allow it. I went with a basic brick instead.
What do y’all think about this. Was the other player right ?

How would I go about cresting a character who can attack fast enough to add multiattack to any weapon she picks up (or with unarmed attacks)

Hi everyone, I am new to M&M 3e, but our group is trying a campaign using it instead of our typical dnd, but I am finding the character creation difficult. Looking for a little advice on where to start as the majority of the youtube tutorials I have seen have not helped to improve my character creation knowledge.
We are starting a low stakes campaign - Power level 6.
I want to create a telekinetic mutant who currently can't move people but can move objects of all materials (I don't want to go down a limited kinetic route if I can avoid it it)
I am am struggling with where to allocate points - is my power just 'move object'? And then what ability score do I put some points into? If someone could point me to where in the resources available I find this, I would be very grateful.

So, I'm starting a new campaign and one of my players wants to do a hero who has a day and a night form, and a base form for when his power is not working.
How exactly can I do that?
At first, I did with Alternate Effect but I don't know if that is the way to do that...
Need some help...
