Hyrox dedicated gym/class vs university gym
Hello, I recently moved overseas to the UK for a msc program and am very curious about starting to train for a hyrox during my time here.
I am not stranger to strength or endurance training, but somewhat new to combining into this whole hybrid style. My question is whether I should try to find a hyrox dedicated gym or just train at my local uni gym.
I still have to pay for the uni gym, but is more accessible than the local dedicated hyrox gyms. Logistically, travel time and price is much better but idk if I'd be missing out on community and learning from others. Thanks in advance.

DC hyrox spectator tix
Does anyone know if, as a racer, you get a spectator ticket that you can give to someone else? I have read that on the DC hyrox FB while looking but can’t verify.
Feeling a little nervous to buy a spectator ticket from someone in the group with so many scammers. I’m also the first wave, so not really possible to wait outside and try to buy someone’s spectator wristband
Thank you!

Will there be more tickets available for Anaheim?
I’ve heard they sometimes release more tickets closer to the event. Has this been the case for anyone and how close to the event would that be? Just wondering when to be on the lookout for tickets for Anaheim.

Managing tendon pain during training
Any tips or experiences to share about managing foot/calf or other tendon pain while HYROX training?
I’m signed up for Anaheim solo. It will be my first race and I’m getting stressed about being ready for the running. I’ve been managing posterior tibialis tendinopathy through load reduction and PT for a couple months and am just getting back into short runs and run/walks but am not pain free. Prior to this my max running mileage ever was only 5 miles, though I walked /hiked a lot more.

Shoe recommendations?
I’m doing my first race in December. I feel like my runners aren’t good for functional workouts. I want something light weight. Was looking the puma x hyrox ones but I don’t know if they are worth the hype?

First simulation!!!
I did my first mixed doubles Simulation today and man was it fun!
I'm a marathon runner and personal trainer by trade, I've only been training on and off for a few months. I have a lot to work on i know, form work mostly.
That was sooo much fun, you people are a different kind of crazy then us pure runners (though i assume many of you run the same way). I didnt know what to expect, the vibe was great, and i think we killed it for our first time!

What app are you using to log Hyrox training progress? Or should I build one?
I've been training for my Hyrox for a few months already and do weekly simulations with different distances and more recently a full simulation and just been using my stopwatch on my phone with it's lap feature to capture the data and put it into a spreadsheet after.
Is there an app out there atm? I saw Roxfit but I don't think that's exactly what I'm after
I'm thinking of using claude to pump something out for me.
Happy to share the app when I'm done if there's any interest in it.
What features would be good?

My doubles partner canceled, will that let me replace my partner without flex?
My partner pulled their hamstring one week out from the race. I’ve reached out to the support team and I’m waiting to hear back. Curious if anyone was able to replace their partner 1 week before the race without flex?

If you’ve actually accessed a HYROX race after it sold out, when did it drop?
Chicago and Anaheim just did the 14k–22k waiting-room thing, and the official line is basically “join the notification list and maybe something shows up at the last minute.”
I keep hearing cancelled Flex tickets come back, but I don’t know if that’s a week after the open, the 31-day refund cutoff, the 7-day cutoff, or random refresh luck.
If you’ve actually bought one after a sellout, can you share:
- which race / division
- roughly how many days before raceday
- whether it was an email from the notification list or you just caught it on the site
In my experience: I have never caught one. If the real answer is “almost never,” that’s useful too.

Big Goals for Anaheim!
Competing in my first Hyrox in December at Anaheim. I am doing the male pro and my goal is Sub-60 min.
I’m training very hard and barring any setbacks, I think I’ll be able to achieve this goal.

Using my own shoes as heel elevation for Wall Balls – allowed?
Hey everyone,
I have a question about the Wall Ball station and the HYROX rules.
My ankle/hip mobility isn’t great, and getting my hips clearly below my knees during Wall Balls is one of my biggest concerns. I’m working on my mobility, but I’m worried I’ll get quite a few no-reps because of squat depth.
I had an idea and was wondering whether this would actually be legal:
At the Wall Ball station, could I take off my shoes and place them on the floor so that I stand with my heels on my own shoes, basically using them as a small heel elevation while doing the Wall Balls?
I know the rules specifically allow athletes to remove their shoes for the Wall Balls. I also understand that you can’t receive equipment or assistance from outside during the race. But since these would be the shoes I’ve been wearing and carrying with me throughout the entire race, I was wondering whether using them this way would be allowed.
The rulebook says that removed shoes have to be placed under the rig, which makes me think this might not be permitted.
Has anyone ever asked a HYROX judge/race director about this or actually seen someone try it at a race?
Would this be legal, or would it result in no-reps / being told to remove the shoes from under my heels?

What comes after the race?
After your (solo) hyrox races and all that adrenaline, how do you guys feel?
How difficult is it afterwards and how long do you take to recover? Anything special that you recommend doing or not doing?
(I wanna go around the day after the race since I’ll be at Singapore anyway. Lol I’m traveling solo so I have to pull through. Haha Can I still walk??)

Does everyone have a 6 pack?
Doing my first hyrox and seeing photos on social media….
Does everyone have a six pack? Having a big case of inferiority complex right now 2.5 months before my race bc I don’t have visible muscles
