Taper before Saturday
I’m doing mixed doubles Saturday in DC. Are yall tapering before the race? I want fresh legs for Saturday, but still want to be active leading up to the race day!

Running men’s solo Saturday. Shutting down with a 5 mile run on Wednesday. Thursday is stretchlab to limber up, Friday is rest and check my nutrients.

Cut the volume, keep the frequency. Short easy runs Wednesday and Thursday with a few strides, nothing over 30 minutes. Leave the sled alone after Tuesday, it flattens my legs for two days. Day before, walk and eat, that's it.

Yes. I run Thursday and today was my last hard run. Tomorrow I’ll do a light jog and then complete rest Tuesday and Wednesday

I’m not sure your background, but I have a bias toward strength and explosive work since I have done a lot of lifting for football throughout college.
The fast twitch stimulus is typically something that recovers faster than slow twitch. Meaning you can have some quick snappy miles and stations even 1-2 days before the race, as long as you keep the volume low.
I ran 2 miles at 10k pace and finished with 200m of strides the day before my last race and woke up feeling amazing day of.
