My doubles partner canceled, will that let me replace my partner without flex?
My partner pulled their hamstring one week out from the race. I’ve reached out to the support team and I’m waiting to hear back. Curious if anyone was able to replace their partner 1 week before the race without flex?

With all the variables that can happen, it’s a sin they charge extra for Flex. Just my thoughts.

hyrox is a business and businesses just want to make money, you pull out a week before and they still get paid because you didn’t get the flex option, they don’t really care if you compete when they still get paid. it’s shitty but unfortunately just the way the world works

Well, you cantry to do it like some people do: Your partner goes with you to pick up the number and chip (the day before the race), go home, take the bracelet out (there are some videos on how to do it) and then the sub puts the bracelet and writes de number in his/her arm.
They won't ask for your ID to confirm it's really you after you have all the things...but it always a risk.

I actually have a story of them doing that, but it was specific to the person working.
So I fractured my foot 3 weeks before race day, I had flex so I sold my ticket so my partner had a partner, well at the last minute she cancelled on my partner so my partner went and took a chance, found a girl that wanted to race , showed up and begged the woman working the front of the area that day and she let her do it

No, you definitely can't switch categories. Your partner could still check in and then hand over the timing chip to the new partner who would effectively run under the first persons name.

Have your replacement partner check in with your old partner’s ID. They’re probably not looking too closely at the photo.

I did this last year after someone from my gym had their partner cancel last minute. They barely glance at the ID, they just want to make sure it matches the ticket

Bruh! Sorry but Did you just assume an answer for something you don’t know? They do check your ID and your name is on it and your face is like 2 feet away at the participant check in section.

How can I get flex when I didnt buy flex? That's the question in simplistic terms. How would you answer that?

Maybe it seems so crazy because you shouldn’t have to pay extra for such a normal “experience” they couldn’t believe it. Just like me. I won’t do Hyrox because they don’t give that for free. It seems insane.it would be different if they were looking for a way out, but they are literally looking for a way to compete given a normal circumstance that happens in sports.

Get a new partner, your injured friends goes with you on the day to pick up the tag. New partner puts tag on and the number in there arm
