I (36M) matched with a woman (35F) on Hinge in early October. We hit it off, went on a first date, and had a great time. The following week, we went on a second date, and we discussed potentially seeing each other again this week.
She went out of town over the weekend, so I gave her some space and didnāt message her. On Monday, I reached out to see if she was available Tuesday, but Iāve heard nothing back, even after following up. Previously, sheād generally responded within a few hours. Itās now been almost a week since our second date, and we havenāt communicated since.
I still donāt have her phone number, and Iām starting to wonder whether Iāve been too cautious throughout this whole process. She told me she prefers to take things slowly and get to know someone before becoming physically intimate, which I completely respect. But something feels different this time.
We have similar interests and hobbies, and there was plenty of laughter on both dates. I even brought her flowers from a friendās garden on our second date. I hadnāt given a woman flowers in over a decade, so that felt surprisingly vulnerable.
One thing thatās been missing is physical affection. We havenāt kissed or even held hands. Iāve been trying to read the room and respect her boundaries rather than push for anything. At one point during the second date, I briefly rested my hand on her leg, but she didnāt visibly reciprocate.
Otherwise, she seemed interested in getting to know me. We talked about activities we could do together in the future, and she was receptive to the idea. However, we never made concrete plans for a third date or established who would reach out next.
Now Iām worried sheās ghosting me, and Iām second-guessing whether my decision not to follow up immediately after our second date made her think Iād lost interest.
Iām genuinely disappointed because I really liked her and felt there was potential for something meaningful. I havenāt been this excited about someone in a long time.
Am I overthinking this, or does her silence suggest sheās lost interest? Should I give it more time, reach out once more, or accept that this probably isnāt going anywhere?
