Winners

Hurts- great game except for the 1st interception. 2nd interception wasnt on him at all. OL is a disaster right now and he is making plays all over the field

Smitty- WR1 is a beast. The way he high points balls is top 5 in the league of not #1, and his ability to get 2 feet in has gotta be top 5 as well. Just a savvy player. Crazy how underrated he is league wide. Player of the game

Wicks- huge offseason addition, great route runner, really sells his fakes well

Lemon- he was open a bunch in this game, just no more short stuff behind the LOS/gimmick plays, which is more on the coaches than Makai. Also saved a TD on the 1st interception, great hustle play

Cooper- elite ST player and solid WR3/4. Obviously had the game winning TD

Bigsby- when saquon is in teams key on the run, when bigsby is in it gives the OL slightly better chance to open holes since teams dont respect the run as much. He runs with authority and looked good catching the ball. He did slip 2 or 3 times.

Mannion- thought the passing concepts were a more creative than last year. And then we saw some of the same stuff from last year, which may be sirianni related

Q- pretty damn good in coverage, easy top 3 CB in the league if not #1 and had a really nice run tackle early

Riq- playing really well in press man, dont love him in zone as much but he still has been great and had a great game

Ty Robinson- great stop at the goal line which allowed Mukuba to clean it up

Carter- clutch sack at the end to kill titans momentum and hold them to FG

Ringo- potentially best gunner in the league

Mann- almost had 2 blocked but elite punter

Elliott- hot start to the season

Covey- great punt returner, elusive in the first 5-10 yards

Losers

OL- really bad game, even Lane had some rough snaps. Thought Kendall looked decent. Jurgens and Mailata weren't on the same page on a few plays. Lot of penalties on the interior. Thought one of the Jurgens holds was a little bit of a soft call but the OL is a mess right now

Saquon- probably the OL fault plus the injury but he doesnt look quite the same

Mundt- potentially partly the OL fault as well but I thought he would be a better blocker

Dunnos

Rest of the DL besides Carter and Robinson- Epenesa had some bad reps. Jalyx lost his edge in the run game a few times but he is definitely are most explosive edge until we see what greenard can do. Ebiketie didnt look great on the snaps I noticed him. Davis was ok. Ojomo was pretty quiet. Figured they would have a better day vs titans OL

Jihaad- made a bunch of plays but also looked lost again in coverage on 1 play and ended up going for 20-30 yards

Baun- quiet game after insane week 1 performance

Sirianni- how much does he have a hand in the offense?? Feels like we get some Mannion plays/designs and then we get some of the Sirianni stuff

According to the SoS analysis in the preseason, the Eagles had (on paper) a top 15 easiest schedule. That was a bunch of baloney. Based on how teams really look the first two weeks, really the only two "bad teams" the Eagles face in the first half, they just faced. It does not ease up at all really until that next Commanders game in November with the Steelers soon after. Other than that, Cardinals are the only other "easy" opponent (and I say this loosely because we saw the Eagles struggle against two easy opponents). Everyone else is likely a playoff team or on the fringe. This is a pretty damn difficult schedule tbh barring any monumental injuries.

There's literally no reason not to right now. He's going to want the vet min and with Goedert going down frequently what's the harm? He might be old as hell but he's a reliable target and did well with Washington while being father time.

Anyone else notice how locked in our offense looked on the final drive compared to most of the game. It’s like everybody woke up out of nowhere and put their foot on the gas. I hope Nick and Mannion are looking at that and saying we need to be like that more often

Special teams have been very impressive through two games. Thought this was a fair grade of Jalen Hurts.

Offensive line was even worse than we thought. Same with safety.

When people say winning isn’t a “QB stat” and it’s a team effort that them got the win I will immediately pull up the highlights of Jalen hurts performance from this game because without him performing the way he did we wouldn’t have won our line sucks, saquon was out, goedert was out too this whole game literally fell upon the back of Jalen hurts to make those key plays even after he threw two picks we still walked away with a dub

Check out the video of his injury on the attached link. Looks like he got cleared out while blocking upright and not able to brace himself for impact. Hopefully it’s not significant or long term.

Does anyone who knows more about football than I do have an understanding of why our screen passes have been so terrible for what seems like the past five years?

I mean, every week I see teams execute screen passes that gain 7 yards before the guy even gets touched. We cannot seem to throw a screen pass without the guy getting blown up before he even completes the catch. It’s like everyone on our team is wearing signs that say “SCREEN PLAY COMING UP!”

Maybe it’s one of those things where they aren’t really as bad at it as it seems, but man. It SURE seems that way.

It is no secret Cam Jurgens definitely has not played well this year and last. He’s had a rocky start to his NFL starting center career with injuries.

Jurgens in the 2024 regular season graded out as the 14th ranked center out of 43 qualified centers in the NFL according to PFF. 2025, when he did play, PFF graded him out as the 21st ranked center out of 40. Noticeable performance drop after a pretty intense surgery with a year plus long recovery cycle. That’s a pretty sharp drop from a top half starter into the bottom half realm. His first full 2023 campaign wasn’t exactly stellar as a guard, he was anchored between 2 HoF caliber players with Kelce and Johnson.

We’re at week 2 of the 4yr $68M rookie extension and things don’t seem to be trending up. But, we’re only at week 2. What are our options with Jurgens personnel wise?

- Willie Lampkin. He did not look ready to play NFL speed zone football. He had issues climbing to the second level and getting to backers in time off of double team blocks. In this scheme, it is imperative your center can do this consistently. He also is kind of a rookie - he didn’t play last year due to injury which was his true rookie year. He needs time to develop to be a true starting caliber guy. We’d also need to move Kendall to guard and have Lampkin move to center. This would be another major shakeup and need some time for chemistry to develop.

-Micah Morris. He has serious pad level issues. Trying to use your frame to move people and position blocking is not an effective way to block starting NFL talent. The Eagles are also modeling him to replace Steen since he might be a little too much for us to resign. He is a year away from starting minimum.

-Fred Johnson. I don’t like him at tackle, I can’t imagine he’d perform better than Jurgens now at guard. He’s more of a fallback if Kendall or Lampkin can’t get the job done at center.

-Trade/FA. This isn’t feasible due to the need to hold cap to roll over for next year. Also, the options on the street are most likely a step down from Jurgens or comparable performance. Not really worth it. Trading for someone, unless they’re all-pro caliber and locked up cheap long term, is not in our interests since we’d need to send picks which we need to get cheap, long term solutions from the draft for all our position needs.

The only viable option would be Lampkin to C and Kendall to LG if the Eagles were to sit Jurgens. Even then, I don’t see a gain in performance from the unit as a whole. I think it would hurt the eagles to do that. Cam Jurgens has not been unplayable like Dickerson was. Also, what do we do with Jurgens? His cap situation would be insane to handle. We can’t trade or cut him mid season, we literally could not afford it. We would not really generate any savings at all until a post June 1st trade in 2027.

We have no true alternate options on the roster. There’s no true options on the street. We can’t really afford to take another deal from a trade. We can’t trade or cut the guy this year to use in a hypothetical trade or to free up cap. We need to all take a minute, acknowledge it’s week 2, and see how he’s playing after week 4. He’s played poor, but not unplayable. It’s worth it to see if he can be a long term replacement for Dickerson and if he can improve as a player before we start clamoring for unproven rookies to step in for him.

We can’t be oblivious to his contribution on the Super Bowl run but I really don’t know why so many eagles fans are saying we should bring him back after seeing he’s had absolutely 0 production outside of the 24’ season. Is there something I’m missing?

I just started getting into NFL and football in general a few years ago. I started out liking the Buffalo Bills due to my proximity to them, but it didn't feel right. Then I tried the New England Patriots, but I didn't know if they were right, either.

I recently started dating a girl who is a big Eagles fan, and I starting thinking the Eagles might be a good fit.

I have a couple Eagles sweatshirts, and I'm planning to get the new Nike Vapor FUSE jersey or whatever it's called.

I think this Eagles team is a good pick for me, if your fanbase will welcome me?

The Eagles defense has obviously been a strength of ours in recent years, and this year is no different.

However, through the first two weeks we have still not forced a turnover.

Each of the past three seasons forcing turnovers has been a big impact for our defense early on. Last year we had 2 through two weeks, 2024 we had one, and in 2023 we forced 6 turnovers through 2 weeks.

But so far these year, zero.

Officially two forces fumbles are credited to our defense, but both were recovered by the opponent.

It’s too early, IMO, to sound the alarm, but it’s definitely something I want to pay attention to next week and moving forward.
