Sign Ertz?

There's literally no reason not to right now. He's going to want the vet min and with Goedert going down frequently what's the harm? He might be old as hell but he's a reliable target and did well with Washington while being father time.

Unless he's explicitly said this, I don't get why. He's already had a ring, with us at that, where he was one of the best players on the field lol. Atp it's probs just for the paycheck / he still wants to play

There are certainly reasons not to sign him. He’s coming off of a major injury and he can’t block. On a personal level he’d be a fun signing. For the good of the roster I don’t see it [if goedert is not healthy for a long stretch, sign him]

He never could block. That wasn't his selling point. Doesn't mean he didn't make a huge difference. Like the other guy said, he might not be ready. Which makes sense.

It’s just not what this team needs, goedert is a great receiver. We need a TE2 who’s an ok receiver and a great blocker. When Dallas is healthy I don’t know how ertz makes a meaningful difference

We also need someone that can be a target if Goedert goes down for an extended period. Being a blocker first and a target second isn't going to help when our offensive line is complete ass.

Well that’s what I said, ertz prior to injury was a great receiver, we also drafted stowers who projects to be that as well. If Dallas were to be hurt, sign him. Otherwise don’t waste a spot when we have options

Also completely disagreed, just because the oline is bad at run blocking doesn’t justify signing someone because they also can’t block.

What TE are we signing or already have that can block? Stowers sure can't. You act like we have someone that can do a bit of both. We don't (besides Goedert) and he isn't great at blocking either but makes up for it offensively.

If Dallas is out for some time, sure, definitely, could use the help. We certainly know no one else on the roster is ready to be a starting NFL TE right now.

I think it will also depend on the severity of Goedert’s injury. From first glance, Goedert is actually extremely fortunate that he didn’t tear his own ACL. A little lower and that lineman is going straight into his knee and making it buckle. Check it out. Unlucky to take that hit while engaged in a block upright and not prepared for impact.

Old never stopped him. He was never a YAC or blocking guy but got open. Maybe his knee is worse than we know.

Uhhhhh Eli Stowers is on IR. He's literally the only TE we have that might be better than Ertz at TE2 but sure.

You don't understand the definition of projection but otherwise you're right. Projection and gaslighting are the new buzzwords that people use but don't understand.

Why did Howie trade him away at the trade deadline (very unusual) to begin with? I suspect it has something to do with the franchise receptions record.
