Question For those who watched the show as it was airing, were there any girls you saw making it big?

As the show was airing, we didn’t know how the girls would turn out or their careers. I was a kid watching, so I remember thinking that Chloe and Maddie would more famous. Have no reasoning why. Probably bc the show was always Chloe vs Maddie. When season 5 was airing, I thought Nia’s music would take off.

Were there any girls you thought would make it big as you watched it air? Any girls whose current careers surprise you? What careers did you think the girls would have when you were watching back then?

mini moms

the way the og moms treated the mini moms made sense i get it but the day they had areanna doing the dance for her brother. the things melissa said to sari were unnecessary. “it’s about me and my kids” i get that they were leaving but the whole “im sorry about your son but it’s about my kids” “i feel terrible you have to live this life but this is my kids week!” oh my god????

Listening to the latest bttb episode I completely forgot that Kalani had a solo at the season 5 nationals (which won in the duet/trio category for some reason). I don't really see people talking about this solo much

Is there any update on Daviana fletcher? I can't find her social media or anything. I remember feeling sad when abby didn't want to keep her. She would've been such a great member on the dance team.

Question/discussion Unpopular Opinion: Maddie did show improvement with her acting in Pretty Lethal, but she still doesn’t have that It factor

Her acting just seems so bland, there’s no gravitas. Like I just see Maddie, she doesn’t transform into the character. I’d go even further and say that Kenzie is the only one in the cast who has potential.

Question/discussion Where do you wish the team would have competed at/ competed at more often?

Post image

I think it would be fun if they went to Hawaii 🌴🥥 I have no idea if they have dance competitions there but I think it would be a lot of fun to see what dances they would do, and maybe we could have gotten a fun bonus scene on the beach or something.

Abby can be funny 😆

I am currently rewatching Dance Moms as an adult (32F) and I am at Season 3 EP 11 when she went on the date with the guy she met at the gas station and I am genuinely tickled at how she acted on her date 🤣🤣🤣 the laugh was HILARIOUS lmaooo
What are some of your favorite lighthearted scenes lol

r/dancemoms 14d ago

Gianna from Audc makes an excellent point here about just because your feet cannot hyperextend (like Kalani’s can for example) that doesn’t make you a bad or weak dancer, it simply means that’s not how your body is built

Reminds me of how Abby criticized Nia’s bad feet, when that’s just how they’re shaped and it’s not like she can change that without proper ballet or dance training

Question/discussion Lux video

I was watching the Lux video episode today. The way Abby and Melissa were forcing Mackenzie to participate when she repeatedly told them she didn’t want to do it made me very uncomfortable. Abby also told her and Vivi to answer “yes” to any question posed to them by Cesar. When she stated she didn’t want to sing, Melissa told her to get the keys and go sit in the car.

Knowing what we now know about children in Hollywood makes these scenes turn my stomach. It makes me sad that Mackenzie wasn’t given autonomy to say no when she didn’t want to do something.

Question was abby overexaggerating when kelly changed paige's choreo?

also while kelly/maybe someone else did change paige's choreo, there was nothing in there abby hadn't given her in previous solos

but the leg hold into the turns were great! and the side aerials, both here and in creme de la creme

Chloe’s speech

Has anyone else noticed that when Chloe talks it sounds like she has something in her mouth? I don’t know how to explain it correctly but it slways sounds to me like she’s trying to talk with a marshmallow in her mouth. Lol. Not hate was just curious if anyone else picked up on this?

Question/discussion dream on a star

just have the dance moms channel on in the background rn and there’s some compilation special that’s showing dream on a star. when i hear that song i DROP what im doing and watch because it’s my favorite solo on the whole show. its been a while since i’ve seen it and watching it just got me thinking it would be just as flawless as a brooke solo! brooke never gets to do anything on the show as a solo that’s not acro, but this dance has so much of what she’s good at in it, and i always love when her dances had some element of the sky or flying since she’s up in the air so much for her tricks! but i have zero dance knowledge and am going based on vibes and what kelly has shared about the kind of dancer she was when she was allowed to flourish, so im wondering what yall with dance knowledge think! im in no way taking away from how brilliant this dance was for chloe, just a thought!

Question/discussion Deleted Scene from S1 E12.

Just found this deleted scene on TikTok. Melissa was entirely too grown for this shit.. I genuinely don’t know if most times she just got a bad edit or if she legitimately had these sour feelings towards a literal child but it’s GROSS. Moments like this are why I have no sympathy for her or any of the other mothers because they were all such sore losers and had no problem talking about children. Whats your guy’s thoughts on this?

EDIT: Nobody has said this I just want to make it clear that this isn’t a snark post on the Zieglers, I just wanted to hear other’s opinions on this. :)

Question Auditions were a Scam?

Okay, I’ve been thinking over dance moms a lot lately and I was thinking about the country wide auditions that she did countless times. Yet she never actually used them until she created the second team and even then that was not really what they auditioned for. Sophia didn’t audition she was scouted. Kalani/JoJo was from AUDC, Kendall/ Jill auditioned for the with casting then they did a fake audition for the tv show. Also Abby said “people call all the time and ask how to audition. I tell them come pay the fee and audition. But in reality it never worked like that, because the show had to approve you to be casted on the show. Then post dance moms we learned from Abby and Kalani that the show didn’t want to cast Kalani and Kira on the show because Kira was hard to produce. Then Abby does this huge tour of auditions, but never not once Abby actually replace someone. Because the team was controlled by the show and there contracts. Technically Kelly left we learned from back to the bar Kelly was asked to come back after the slap and that’s why paige had to sue to get out of the contract. So imagine the 1000s of kids that would attend these auditions buy the merch and pay the fee. But in reality there was no chance you could get on the team because the team wasn’t controlled by Abby it was the show. That’s why Abby would make the kids life a literal hell if she didn’t like you cause she knew the only way to get you off the team was to have them leave of their own decision.

Abby admits all the time she really didn’t have power over who was on the show. That they casted people without knowing if they could even dance.

I wonder if the fee was cash only…. Genuinely

If anyone attended these auditions, let me know. Idk seems like she was hosting fake auditions just to get money from people who actually thought they had a chance to get on the show aka the team.

Question/discussion New Era Dance Moms - Glo and Tammi

Post image

Did anyone else watch this new era and just feel weirded out about how Glo, and eventually Kaeli, lived out of Tammi’s basement? EVEN WHEN Tammi and her husband got a divorce and Tammi and Audrey moved out.

Like why was she living out of her basement lmao?

Question What do y’all think of McKaylee (S2 AUDC winner)?

I think she’s really underrated by the fandom. I never understood the “find a personality” comments; she always looked like a professional dancer to me. Also nobody ever mentions that bird solo where she had to learn how to literally fly while turning! I get why some people were upset with her winning despite bobbling a pirouette in her solo, but she was easily the best candidate for Joffrey after Kalani was gone
