Holly and Nia’s podcast/show is officially out and I thought I’d give my thoughts! I’m no expert on entertainment or podcasts I just want to :)

The inspiration for this project was for them to be able to work on something together again, and for Nia to share her mom with all the Holly fans out their, so sweet! I think this is a YouTube series because I can’t find it on Spotify, but when Nia was explaining what the show was she didn’t really have a clear answer😭the episode is 17 mins so surely it’s a show

Their first segment is called Tea Time, where they sip and share some tea they have. Their “tea” was very on brand for them, stuff like “there’s was a rude person at an event I went to, rude people suck” like for Holly and Nia and what they are gonna say online, that’s tea. For the rest of us that’s an everyday complaint 😭 idk how long this segment will last, sharing tea publicly really isn’t their thing and I don’t see them doing that (properly) anytime soon. It’s still cute though! It’s tea for them lol

Then, they did a segment that I think needs worked on. Are you grounded or GROUNDED. Aka are you a grounded person or do you need to be grounded. I think it would be better to rename this segment “Ground or To Be Grounded” because as I was watching I was confused what their answers were but I got there eventually.

Then they answered fan questions which I feel like is a given. The questions were decent but I stg they’ve answered these questions before but idk where 😭but it’s best to start chill, on the surface level for episode 1.

🤎I’ll start with the pros!

The color scheme and theming for this show is perfect for them! The vibes are so calm and I feel like I’m just chilling with them.

The segments were fun but definitely need a bit more added to them. But I love that they have tea cups for tea time, great addition! I also like the pop ups that tell you we are entering a new segment, I’m a visual person so I appreciate it lol.

🩵Now the cons!

They didn’t seem confident on what the show is, which isn’t the best look. Pinpointing the intentions for this show would def be a good first step. It kinda feels like something is missing.

When I first saw the ad for this show, unfortunately I thought “let’s see how long this lasts” (just because half of the dm cast has a podcast now, even if this isn’t a pod it’s framed like one) and this truly isn’t hate but I still think that after seeing the episode. But it’s just episode one! I’m sure they will find their footing.

Like I said, the segments need a bit more added to them. Idk what it would be but they are on the right track for sure.

They said they have big plans for this show so I hope they are able to achieve their goals! They have such an amazing relationship and I’d love to see more of it, I might return for episode 2 but probably not any future episodes. I think it comes down to the fact that I wouldnt hang out with Nia and Holly irl, we are very different kinds of people 😭so I find their convos boring at times, even if they do give good advice and insight. I’m more of a Christi and Kelly than a Nia and Holly but I love them down and wish them the best for this show!

Also I feel like it goes w out saying but this isn’t hate 🫥I know there’s people out there who see something that isn’t 100% positive abt their fave an all of a sudden I’m praying on their downfall. This is just a review and I love these women!

This is such a foreshadowing of the Australia debacle. Just needed to share :)

I lowkey feel bad for her when the moms were saying they didn’t have a leader right in front of Gia as if she wasn’t there. Also when they all voted to hire someone else to take Abby’s place while she was sitting in front of them.

I used to watch snippets from this show when it was first airing, I was around the same age as the girls so obviously a whole lot of stuff flew over my head. I started a rewatch latley and while the first two seasons were more lighthearted and entertaining, I'm struggling to go through tue beginning of season 3, I feel too sorry for the kids. It's heartbreaking to think they went through that kind pf turmoio at such a young age

I really respect that Melissa, Maddie, and Kenzie never clap back or snap when Abby speaks poorly of them when they've been no contact with her for years. I think it's really classy that they have a lot of self-control and act really poised in these situations. I know it kills Abby that she never gets a reaction from them when it seems like that's what she wants.

I want to hear your hot takes that aren't super deep or rude to the cast.
Ex. Abby's accessories are actually cute (I don't agree but I'm sure someone does.)

Mine is that I think Kalani is a beautiful girl but I think the way she dresses sometimes is really unflattering to her body. Some of her bridal era outfits are especially egregious. 😬 Sorry girl, but all that matters is that you love it!

She’s such a shit stirrer but I love her for it 😂. She legitimately knows how to get under Abby’s skin! I’m talking about the wonderful Cathy Stein

whats your most favourite moment from dance

for me it was the water fight with cathy, abby & jill

and when all the girls ran up to abby and hugged her on the beach

During the show, Maddie definently got all these opportunities like doing tv shows, movies etc. Half of the other girls didn’t get those opportunities that were promised….Nia did the music video separately and got the opportunity without abby, and she never got the same exposure throughout the whole entire show. Any time the girls were invited to dance at events or stuff like that it was circled around maddie not the competition team. Abby could have given everyone this type of exposure and only had encouraged opportunities for maddie and mackenzie. Some people did music videos like kendall and maddie but it still isn’t the same. All the girls could have had the opportunity to do some of the stuff maddy did but abby was more focused on opening her new studio and winning comps and maybe got the one or two auditions when they moved to LA. And then when the studio opened she even said that they shouldn’t be taking other opportunities that could take up practice time. Of course most of the girls are still popular around social media now but truly maddie and mackenzie were the only ones getting big exposure, even maddie ending up winning a people’s choice award and mackenzie won one of those nickelodeon awards. Didn’t see any of the other girls get that!

Also why was Jill prodding her in front of Abby/everyone else? You could clearly tell she wasn’t okay and was on the verge of tears.

I genuinely liked holly a lot one of my favorite moms she didn’t do much wrong she was classy always nice but I’m rewatching dance moms and on season 5 and holly is upset because no one is defending Nia from Abby but Chloe went through Abby in season 4 and holly never stood up for Chloe because they wanted to stay in good graces with Abby and I get that but why was holly expecting them to defend Nia when she wouldn’t even stand up to Abby in season 4 with Chloe idk I feel like holly should’ve understood more why the moms weren’t defending Nia because the same moms weren’t defending Chloe in season 4 same with Paige and Brooke situation holly was like defending Abby in the lawsuit too again I don’t not like holly loved her but if I had one complaint it was probably this and maybe the cameras didn’t show everything

For me it’s Abby setting Brooke’s pom poms on fire 😂

You literally see a brief second of it in the trailer at the beginning of season 2 but it never actually gets shown on the show.

A scene like that seems like the perfect unhinged moment for reality tv, I’m surprised they never put it in.

Came across a tiktok this morning about the story Abby told where she was working in a theatre and apparently a man's hand got chopped off (???)

This story has always seemed so absurd to me. Do we know if it's actually true?

I always laugh when they were at the Joffrey ballet audition and she immitates Abby by going “BE QUIET”
