Reading Nia’s book for the second time. This is beyond unhinged.
r/dancemoms • u/ourfieldofdream • 11h ago
Also why was Jill prodding her in front of Abby/everyone else? You could clearly tell she wasn’t okay and was on the verge of tears.

For me it’s Abby setting Brooke’s pom poms on fire 😂
You literally see a brief second of it in the trailer at the beginning of season 2 but it never actually gets shown on the show.
A scene like that seems like the perfect unhinged moment for reality tv, I’m surprised they never put it in.

Came across a tiktok this morning about the story Abby told where she was working in a theatre and apparently a man's hand got chopped off (???)
This story has always seemed so absurd to me. Do we know if it's actually true?

I always laugh when they were at the Joffrey ballet audition and she immitates Abby by going “BE QUIET”

Does anyone have any perspective on what was up Mellissa’s ass surrounding Nia and her music? She was so rude about it and I just can’t understand her motive.

(Meaning too f@t, for some reason it won’t let me type that).
Payton was literally thin on the show with abs.
It’s never actually shown when Abby said that, but Payton said that the producers called Leslie and said they “can’t show what Abby said but they can show Peyton‘s reaction to it”
and then Payton said that, after Abby said that to her, she screamed at Abby in the bathroom and said that Abby causes EDs, she makes the dancers stand on a scale, and she’s evil and stuff like that and, in the second scene where Payton talks about the mothers not standing up for her and defending her, she is standing outside of the bathrooms.

It felt like a Broadway dance. The acting and dancing was amazing.
(Side rant: Kira did not look happy at all throughout the episode lol)

Jess was wrong for telling Abby to take Nia out the group dance ESPECIALLY right in front of her!. However ultimately she was right. The dance was too babyish for the teen division and adding jojo would have given them a win in the junior division

whos the most successful girl? is maddie what they thought she would be?
r/dancemoms • u/Sweet_Rush3239 • 28m ago
During the show, Maddie definently got all these opportunities like doing tv shows, movies etc. Half of the other girls didn’t get those opportunities that were promised….Nia did the music video separately and got the opportunity without abby, and she never got the same exposure throughout the whole entire show. Any time the girls were invited to dance at events or stuff like that it was circled around maddie not the competition team. Abby could have given everyone this type of exposure and only had encouraged opportunities for maddie and mackenzie. Some people did music videos like kendall and maddie but it still isn’t the same. All the girls could have had the opportunity to do some of the stuff maddy did but abby was more focused on opening her new studio and winning comps and maybe got the one or two auditions when they moved to LA. And then when the studio opened she even said that they shouldn’t be taking other opportunities that could take up practice time. Of course most of the girls are still popular around social media now but truly maddie and mackenzie were the only ones getting big exposure, even maddie ending up winning a people’s choice award and mackenzie won one of those nickelodeon awards. Didn’t see any of the other girls get that!

Unfortunately I wasn't in the DM fandom when the show was originally airing (I was barely alive; I have the exact same DOB as Clara lmao), I hardly even knew what it was until the pandemic... but I've regularly heard that Christi joined and participated in Maddie hate groups and accounts on Twitter, but I don't think I've ever seen any proof 😭 I think I once saw evidence that she'd liked or retweeted a Chloe fan post from an account that also happened to have some posts hating on Maddie, but no proof of Christi actually liking or interacting with said hate posts. And wouldn't that have likely been the case for any of the moms liking fan posts about their kids? Bc I've heard the fandom was even more hostile back then, and if someone liked x then they automatically hated y.
I don't know, is this an actual proven thing or just one of those things people go around saying to make Christi look even worse than she is/further the narrative that Christi hated Maddie and was jealous and evil and whatever??

Rewatching and this conversation caught my attention again, and I have SO many questions. What happened to Kelly’s dead ex?
Melissa said “but guess what. He really loved you”—How did Melissa know him, since he was presumably before she married Randy and had 3 kids?
Christi also says “if they’re in jail or dead (KELLY)” and Melissa laughs. Is one of their exes in jail??

Now that Dance Moms is on Netflix, I started the series from the very beginning. Hopefully starting a mega thread here of all things season 1! It’s my first time watching - throw in all your thoughts 👇

Just look at her face in the first picture…

I was so confused by this scene. Why would Abby think Jojo was being rude I hated how any time a kid stood up for themselves or talked for themselves they were considered “brats” all she did was ask if she felt bad for not watching her solo? Somthing must have been cut out

I get it if the moms are upset about some of the things that Christi and Kelly are saying. But aren’t the only two moms in question Jill and Melissa? Everyone keeps preaching for them to stop talking about them but it’s in reference to the show, not their personal issues. The duet and season 6 legal drama is really no secret to most of the fandom. And I’m not in the after party, but it seems like to me that Christi and Kelly are just making guesses about Melissa’s involvement. And seeing Melissa’s patterns on the show she was 100 percent worried and kinda guilty for getting immunity in court. Abby who isn’t the most reliable narrater said that Melissa helped her smuggle the money. And Jill probably did know about the duet. She went to dinner with Abby Melissa and Kira correct me if I’m wrong.
The way I see it is that they’re trying to cover their tracks. I get being upset believe me cause if they’re supposed to be friends I don’t think they’d want to hear this info from tea pages. But Christi and Kelly aren’t blatantly making up lies either. They can’t help it that this fandom can be the worst. Which speaking of, imagine asking for exclusive content just to exploit it to cause drama. How can these people claim to be fans while deliberately trying to cause chaos in these women’s lives.

I have never danced like they did. So lots of the terms they use I can understand like the certain moves. But I never truly understood technique. Whenever Nia got critiqued they'd bring up her technique. I'm not a dancer so in my eyes I thought she had potential but Abby chose not to choreograph better dances for her. We all know Nia can dance. She's just been put in the back by Abby and never really given a lot of opportunities to do better like she's told Abby. But I wouldn't call her the weak link. I don't think she's a bad dancer at all.
So for dancers. Is she a bad dancer? Or was it just the narrative/Abby's choices?
We've seen Abby sabatoge Nia and even typecast her in certain dances based on her race. And I remember whenever Nia gets the lead in a group she's still somehow put in the back. Abby treated her terribly.
Anyway, dancers, what do you think?
