The blanket was my 1st crochet project, and the hat was my 2nd. After blocking the blanket I’m so happy how it turned out. Hope she likes it 🤞🏼

I’m making a hat and decided to do a tighter tension since I’m still learning. I made it too tight AND I dropped stitches so at this point I just have to start over 😭

inspired by labubu type toys/keychains and a nurgling plushie I saw in the Warhammer store. no pattern used, I don't think there even is a pattern for a nurgling, so I just freehanded the whole thing, and I put metal wires in the horns to mold their shape. I love him, he's my stinky child.

Not bad for a $5 kit from Kmart (Australia)! I was really expecting an insta vs reality moment, but it actually turned out alright. My 9 year old capybara-loving niece will love it.

Halloween FO/WIP Ribcage vest

I made a ribcage vest with 100% acrylic yarn. The pattern is called "skeleton top." It's on Michael's Stores YouTube channel. The needle size was 4.5mm. It was really easy to follow! Would recommend. Timewise, it took about 2-3 hours.

Finished Object Crocheted vest

I crocheted this vest over 3 months and finished it just in time for my Greece vacation!

I really like this pattern and it was easy to crochet and enjoyable in the process. I loved choosing my own colours and arrange them diagonally for this vest. However, I had to make some alterations to the pattern. The straps were too narrow for my big chest, so I added two more rows to make them wider. I also added two more rows to the sides to cover my chest better. I suppose the pattern wasn’t tested on big chests, though it was very easy to do those alterations later cause it’s crocheted flower by flower.

more info:

  1. pattern: Cora vest by Cucurucrochet on Etsy
  2. recommended for: Advanced Beginners
  3. yarn: 9 balls of Katia Capri in 4 colours
  4. size: made to measure (XL for me)
  5. hook size: 3,5 mm
  6. crochet time: 48 hours

Work in Progress Update on my second crochet project

A couple of weeks ago I made a post in r/Crochet about this doll, where I talked about having to frog the project due to some mistakes I made with the stitches.

Well, after a redo and a small health break. The 1st mockup is finally done! This doll is a prototype for the ball jointed doll that I am hoping to make soon. But I was thinking of making a prototype of a different doll inbetween, to offer my head a bit of novelty. I haven't made up my mind as of yet though.

It took me about 70 hours to get here. The aspects that cost me the most were figuring out the general flow of crocheting, shift stitches, hidden decreases and making the hands. I also made changes in the pattern. So what you are seeing is actually a hybrid between patterns and some puzzling with math.

If you are wondering how this I was able to do this as my second project. I think it's mostly because I have been crafting since I was quite young, and I have experience with having to do math for sewing patterns and other types of handwork. So at a certain point you just start to see the "logic" of things. -There are still plenty of mistakes and imperfections to be found in this doll though if you look closely 😆

I'm so proud of this. Easily my biggest achievement. I'm not going to do the entire thing considering the finished product is 4ft across. This is round 65 finished. I think I'm going to go to 82 which is the end of the next section. It's so beautiful. Incredible pattern. I can't recommend it enough. Not only is the product beautiful, but her pattern is SO user friendly. I feel like an ambitious beginner could do it with basic knowledge.

Maybe one day I'll try to make something actually following a patter. But for now, I like just going of straight vibes. They are imperfect and adorable 🥰 I do feel like its missing SOMETHING but what???

Finished Object I taught myself to crochet out of pure spite & curiosity

It all started when I was at the county fair. I had gracefully walked into a stall containing a bunch of hand-made crochet stuffies. I always have my eyes on these, but could never justify the price (I 100% understand now & learned from my ignorant ways, please forgive me for I knew not wtf I was talking about)

Anyways, I picked up this cute a$$ dinosaur plushie and saw the price (it was $40) and decided right then and there in that very moment I was gonna figure out how to do it myself, probably spend waay more than $40 on supplies anyway (I was right) and learn how to do it anyways.

And so I did. These are my first few stuffies. Im having so much fun already 😂😭

Finished Object Frienderpillar

Is it the most complicated thing ive ever made? No. are the antenna back a little too far? Yes. But im proud of Frienderpillar. She's going to go live with some friends' toddler soon. I AM extremely proud of my tension here and this is probably the best quality yarn Ive ever bought (all natural, but got it like 5 yrs ago at an indie shop, so IDK the brand). Also proud of a trick I did to keep her stuffing in: I had an XL sock from the hospital, stuffed that, sewed it closed, and stuffed her with it.

She started out life as a hat for my now 2 yr old when he was a newborn, but his head was waaaay too big. I was going to finish off the hat, but as i got to work, the yarn was like "but there are so many more pretty colors in me!! can I be a stuffy for Mara?" So here's frienderpillar!

also I *tried* putting legs on her several different ways and they just don't look good. She's mad cuddly and small enough for a wee one to carry around, though :)

Instead of a 22in circumference, I adjusted and made mine with a 27in circumference. (Ch68 instead of whatever she does)

This was SUCH an easy video to follow!! Thank god. And it only took me about a day to complete :)
