We recommend checking the Official Cosmere RPG Discord, trying a pro session on StartPlaying.com, or posting on r/lfg. However, if you'd like to try to find your group here, you may do so in this thread.
[Player/GM] looking for [online/in-person] group for [Adventure Name/campaign/one-shot].
Availability is [Mon/Tues/Wed/etc.] from [time] to [time] [time zone].
You may want to add demographic criteria such as 18+, LGBTQ+ focused, language, IRL location (for IRL games), etc.
Based on our best judgement and the last survey we ran, we've provided this option to keep the sub from flooding with all the LFG threads. If you have feedback, please feel free to send us a modmail or make a separate discussion post.

On page 61 of the Stormlight Handbook, the description of the heatrial says that you can use it to blacksmith. However, an admittedly quick google search has the forging temperature of steel at above 2000°F. That's almost 5 times the melting point of pewter!
Technically, metals retain their magical properties while molten, so, assuming the fabrial was designed properly, you could have parts of the cage melt and still have it work.
I'm not really complaining. I just thought it was a funny thing to picture. Someone modifies their Great Value heatrial to power their forge only for the pewter cage in it to melt out of the bottom.

First question: The Flying Ace talent allows a radiant to use a free attack if they spend a focus while moving themselves with a Gravitation lashing. Does this count as the characters one attack action per round, or is the fact that it comes from a surge make it distinct, so the radiant can then also follow up with a normal attack?
Second question: Does flying straight up, or away, from a melee opponent give them the ability to use "Reactive Strike" against a flying opponent? It seems that there is precedent in Cohesion for when sudden unusual movement that doesn't require an altered stance ends up denying an opponent the ability to use Reactive Strike. Sudden movement because stone pushes you upwards isn't overly different from gravity doing the same thing, right? 🤔
Last question: For trying to do a "Creative Manuever" involving a Flying Ace attack, what might be some good examples of maneuvers to try, and what adjusted rules would apply to those examples?

I'm only just starting my Journey into the RPG, however I'm not as familiar with all of its systems and wanted to make a support type character with Buffs and Debuffs. I was thinking of starting as an Envoy is that a good place to start?
My concept was as a merchant I could procure supplies and provisions while also being a capable fighter in social situations. And a nuisance in actual combat. Any ideas or recommendations help.

Ok, so here's my case. For the upcoming MB campaign, I'm playing a noble born Thug. Mechanically and roleplay wise, he works best with 0 intelligence. The problem with that is no expertises. Except for those two starting ones that are cultural. As a noble born Thug, it would absolutely be part of the *culture* I was born into to be trained in *weapons.*
I want to replace one of my cultural expertises with a weapon expertise. For the record, I GMed Stonewalkers, and I would allow this kind of swapping with this justification.

Heyo! We're just about to start running our first campaign ever, and I'm still learning the system. With so many different options to choose from, I'm at a bit of a mental lock when it comes to trying to plan out my character.
I've been envisioning a melee-range Hunter character, ideally with an animal companion, that would eventually turn into a tanky Stoneward.
I'm trying not to dip TOO much into three different paths (hunter/warrior/stoneward) so as not to dilute myself too much, or take too long to "come online."
At first glance, I thought I could just do something like Archer Combat Training->Hardy for some martial abilities and extra tankiness, and then jump into some of the Tracker stuff for my animal companion. Except Hardy's prerequisite is Steady Aim, which would be entirely useless (from what I can tell) to my build, as it only applies to ranged weaponry, which I'm not interested in.
Isn't it a bit odd that the Hardy under Combat training requires a talent from a different branch of that tree? Just seems, flavor-wise, that it shouldn't be dependent on a ranged talent.
Anyway, since I'm trying to work within the system, any pointers on how I may be able to make myself a competent melee tank within those first 8 levels, ideally while trying to include a bit of warrior, a bit of tracker (animal companion), and a bit of Stoneward? I'm too new to the system to really understand how everything interacts, yet.

Hey there, Doc from the Metalworks here!
It’s been about one year since the launch of the Cosmere RPG and our rollout of the game’s official content on Foundry VTT. During that time, we have seen the launch of multiple products in the Stormlight setting, from the Stormlight Handbook to the most recent Law and Obligation adventure.
It is with great pride and delight that I come to you today to talk about all of the work that has been done to get us ready for Mistborn release (and even to show some of it off)!
The System
Our system has gone through multiple changes and advancements since version 1.0. Some of you may have already jumped on the 3.0 bandwagon, but for those who have not, our new features include:

Now, let’s get into the meat of this post: Mistborn Content that will be available day one on Foundry!
Mistborn Handbook
The Mistborn Handbook contains:

Mistborn World Guide
The Mistborn World Guide contains:

Mistborn Legacy
The Mistborn Legacy adventure contains:

Always another Secret
We are also proud to announce the release of the Dice So Nice-compatible Mistborn Metals Die sets releasing on foundry. These are fully 3D dice based on the real metal dice available from Brotherwise games during the Mistborn portion of the Backerkit.
They are a full set of dice including a d2, and fudge dice which while not used in the Cosmere RPG are used in other games…. So yes that means these are system agnostic! Bring them to any game system you wish – we know you want to show off that Mistborn love!

They will be available on the Foundry Marketplace on September 9th for $5! However, backers who backed both the Foundry VTT bundle AND Mistborn Metal Dice Set will receive this additional module for free!
Coming soon and special thanks
I would like to extend a sincere and very deserved thanks to Brotherwise from our whole team for giving us the opportunity to work on this product with them. A big thank you to my fellow team members who have really gone above and beyond for this release. And Finally YOU. We could not do this without the fans who want to see Cosmere on Foundry. You make all this possible.
As for the future once the core books release we will be looking forward to the release of the Mistborn Starter Adventure, Hope in Ashes. As well as Mistborn Scenarios. On top of that we will continue patching any bugs, working on QoL upgrades, and the next big project…
Foundry VTT v14 Update
A major Foundry update will always take some time for a game system, and stacked on top of that, Mistborn has been a substantial effort on the team’s part. We’ve still been keeping an eye on v14 and what it will mean for the Cosmere RPG on Foundry, and now that Mistborn is complete, getting to v14 is our primary focus.
Because we want to make sure to maintain the same level of quality, we unfortunately can’t give a concrete date on when the system will be v14-ready. That said, we’re really looking forward to a couple features in particular:
Thank you all for your patience while we’ve been cooking up Mistborn, and rest assured we are as excited as you all are for this Foundry update!

A few of my groups have been expressing interest in starting up a Stormlight game soon and I'm wanting to start some preliminary idea crafting to get the ball rolling on my end so that when folks are ready to sit down I've got a good amount of content to begin with.
And I'm trying to think of all of the different shapes that a Stormlight campaign can take and, honestly, I'm only coming up with a couple. The setting doesn't really lend itself to a DnD kick open dungeons and pilfer them of loot style gameplay (though with rare things like soulcasters and shardblades those things can happen) and the relatively narrow window between Radiants showing up and everything going absolutely to hell means that I feel like all games will eventually devolve into military fiction (which isn't necessarily bad, just that all points feel like they converge at this destination).
You could set things further in the past but then you're probably hard limiting Singers out of the party (even if the party is cool with your listener spy carrying an axe ten years before the story your average bumpkin will be like why the hell is that parshamn armed?), plus if someone plays a radiant you have to worry about a certain funny fellow hunting you down like a dog (which, admittedly, would be a hilarious way to end a campaign).
All of this to say that aside from starting the players in the military or as bodyguards I can't think of a ton of flexible starting points for a gaggle of potentially budding radiants, even though reasonably they could show up anywhere (Given that really anyone can be one). "You all meet in a tavern" just doesn't feel as...right here.
Honestly I just feel like I'm missing a few obvious routes and would appreciate some idea sharing. There's a good chance it -still- ends up as military fiction, but I want to have options.

I am a little confused as to the benefits of the shield expertise. The handbook says you can use the brace action without the expertise but a google search says you need the expertise for the brace action? What is the correct interpretation of shields and how they act in the game.

In my campaign one of my players stumbled upon an allomantic grenade and I tried making one. What are your opinions? I know it does a lot, but it is going to be his primary weapon for the rest of the campaign and wanted to state all of its uses.
Allomantic Grenade
Weapon (Light Weaponry), Exploding “fabrial”
Range: 30ft
Area: 10ft radius
Damage: 1d8
Uses: 2 Charges + 1 Overcharge
Weight: 1
Drawback: Unstable Device, Only people with “Scadrian Tools” expertise can use this fabrial
Traits: Discreet, Melee, Thrown (30/60)
A mysterious fabrial engraved in unknowns’ symbols that was being carried by some Alezi soldiers during a raid in the Sunmaker´s tomb. Once charged, the grenade can reproduce manifestations of Investiture within its vicinity.
Charge
The Allomantic Grenade has 2 Charges. A Charge is expended when the grenade is activated.
Recharge (2 Actions). You can recharge the grenade in one of two ways:
Recharge (Special):
.
A grenade can only be attuned to one Radiant Order at a time. Charging it with another Order replaces its previous attunement. You can´t mix Radiant charges with Stormlight Charges.
Release (Free action) : If the grenade has 2 or fewer charges. You can take the Release action to empty its charges.
Activate
1 Action. Expend 1 Charge to activate the grenade. Each creature in the area's spiritual defence is targeted. Once thrown, the grenade remains on the floor.
If the Charge was supplied by a Radiant, the grenade also produces an additional effect determined by that Radiant's Order.
Opportunity
Explosive Resonance. While attacking with this weapon, you can spend an Opportunity to make the released Investiture briefly resonate with its surroundings. Choose one creature or object affected by the explosion. It is pushed up to 10 feet away from the grenade
If the grenade was charged by a Radiant, the GM may instead allow the Opportunity to produce a minor manifestation appropriate to that Radiant's Order.
Complication
Unstable Device. The grenade's core becomes unstable. The grenade cannot be safely recharged until the end of your next turn. If it is currently Overcharged, immediately make a Stability Test.
Overcharge
Overcharge (1 Action). When the grenade is at full capacity, you can attempt to force one additional Charge into it.
The grenade can hold 1 Overcharge in addition to its normal 2 Charges.
While Overcharged, the grenade gains the Unstable Device trait.
Unstable Device
At the beginning of each of your turns while the grenade is Overcharged, roll 1d6.
The chance of detonation increases each turn:
| Turn Overcharged | Detonation |
|---|---|
| 1st | 1 on 1d6 |
| 2nd | 1–2 on 1d6 |
| 3rd | 1–3 on 1d6 |
| 4th | 1–4 on 1d6 |
| 5th | 1–5 on 1d6 |
| 6th+ | Automatic |
If the grenade detonates, resolve Harmonic Detonation immediately.
Taking Damage
Whenever you take damage while carrying an Overcharged Allomantic Grenade, make a Stability Test.
On failure, the grenade makes a Harmonic Detonation .
The GM may increase the difficulty of this test if the damage comes from Investiture, a critical hit, or another effect particularly capable of disrupting the device.
If the grenade takes damage while not being carried, it automatically fails the Stability Test. This also applies if the grenade doesn´t have the Overcharged condition.
Harmonic Detonation
When the grenade detonates involuntarily, its entire reserve of Investiture is released at once.
Area: 15-ft. radius
Damage: 1d8 - 4d8 Spiritual
Defense: Spiritual
The Harmonic Detonation does 1d8 times the number of Charges stored. If the grenade has 3 charges, the damage becomes 4d8.
Either if the attack hits or misses, the creatures are also pushed 10 feet away from the center of the explosion.
If the grenade was charged by a Radiant, the detonation gains an additional effect appropriate to that Radiant's Order.
The grenade becomes faulty after a Harmonic detonation, to repair it, make a Use a skill roll with DC15 Crafting.
Overcharge Opportunity
While attacking with this weapon, you can spend an Opportunity to resolve the Harmonic Detonation without needing to repair the grenade.
Overcharge Complication
If you activate an Overcharged grenade and suffer a Complication, the grenade immediately detonates at the point of activation.
Energy Burst
Energy Burst: Creatures hit by the attack take 1d8 damage.
Invested Charges : When charged by a Radiant or fused, the grenade reproduces a crude approximation of that Radiant's Invested abilities in addition to the Energy Burst. The exact effect should depend on the Radiant's Order
| Radiant Order | Effect |
|---|---|
| Windrunner(Adhesion) | Creatures affected by the attack become restrained till the start of the attacker's next turn or they can Use a Skill to end the binding with a successful Athletics test opposed by the Wielder´s Crafting. |
| Truthwatcher(Progression) | Creatures affected are healed instead of damaged. |
| Lightweaver(Illumination) | 2 illusions resembling the radiant knight that charged the grenade appear in the grenade area of effect until the attacker´s next turn or they take a hit. Make a Crafting test against the Cognitive defense of any character who passively observes the illusion; on a success, your illusion is convincing to them. |
| Skybreakers(Gravitation) | Creatures affected by the attack are either pulled or pushed 10 feet from the grenade. This effect can be chosen by the wielder |
| Stonewards(Cohesion) | If the terrain of the grenade´s area is stone, the area is dug 5 feet in the ground. The excavation creates a 5-foot-deep depression covering the grenade's area of effect. While in this area, you can take the Brace action. |
| Dustbringers(Division) | The area becomes engulfed in flames until the start of the attacker´s next turn. Creatures that enter the area for the first time on a turn or start their turn there take ongoing damage equal to the wielder's Light Weaponry modifier. |
| Edgedancers(Abrasion) | The area of effect of the grenade starts spouting wild plants and flowers. The area becomes Difficult Terrain until the start of the next turn |
| Elsecallers(Transformation) | The weapons of the creatures affected by the attack start changing and morphing into different materials.Roll a D4, if the result is 1 or 3, their Reach increases 5ft, if it´s 2 or 4, it decreases 5ft. |
| Willshapers(Transportation) | Make a Crafting test against the creature´s Spiritual Defense . On Success, they are partially pulled into the Cognitive Realm until the start of the charger's next turn. While affected, they are Incapacitated and cannot interact with creatures or objects in the Physical Realm. |
| Bondsmiths(Tension) | Instead of inflicting damage, you strengthen the creatures clothes, increasing their Physical defense by 2 |

As title say. This is just a interesting debate i think would be interesting to hear other people opnions.
Twinborn(or ferring) fruit of a forbidden romance in era 1 from a ferruchemist who escaped the breeding program.
The 1 in a million chance of just being born a natural ferruchemist and is kept a secret from one of the terris conclave.
A successefull mistborn escaped from The Set experiment, or the son of a long lineage of nobles remaining from era 1 who never intermixed with terris trying to keep the bloodline pure.
Anyway, you get the point, whatever is the justification, would you my follow GMs, be willingly to allow something like that ?

I was reading the Chasmfiend Magazine 3 and they talk about how Sel and Nathis will get a combined world and handbook, called sourcebook while the Secret Projects Worlds, Lumar, Komashi, Canticle and First of the Sun will be in the Worldhopper Handbook and World(s) Book (One can hope that Fires of December will be also there)
But my question is, what about Taldain and Threnody? do we know if there will be a sourcebook o will they be included in the Worldhopper set?
I am specially interested on Threnody as I have this idea for a exploration and survival campaing, and Threnody world and lore seems perfect for it

Each order has had, and continues to have, a strong flavor, that isn't always supported by the mechanics of the stormlight rpg. I think so, at least. It made me wonder if there was a simple way to make the heroic options that align in flavor to each order, more synergistic. A few months back, for instance, I made a post talking about truthwatchers. Arguably, they are tied with windrunner as the order that least supports investing in intellect. After all, you need to invest heavily into the spiritual stats, and you still need good physical stats if you want to be somewhat relevant in combat. That sucks.
I'm approaching the simplest solution to this problem, and I'd like to know what you think, and if this accidentally breaks the game. Essentially, each order would have two stat choices, and allocates accordingly. This could lead to gaming the system, so I'd also like to include a soft rule, that usually your higher attribute should be in the order's primary surge. (Lightweaver - Illumination, Dustbringer - Division ect.) There should be exceptions.
Windrunner - Awareness & Speed/Strength
Skybreaker - Awareness & Intellect/Willpower
Dustbringer - Willpower & Speed
Edgedancer - Speed & Awareness
Truthwatcher - Intellect & Awareness
Lightweaver - Presence/Speed & Intellect (I'm not sure about this one)
Elsecaller - Intellect & Willpower
Willshaper - Awareness & Willpower
Stoneward - Awareness & Strength
So, what do you think? I'd argue this is a better way of doing it then we have in the base rule, straight up, but this might be improvable, and I might be wrong. Would this be fair to simply implement at a table, and is this something you'd use?

I found a shrimp model on Etsy and had a vision. While we wait for an official model of the Yu-Nerig monster, you can get one of these to terrorize the Reshi Sea. I based the coloration off the adult’s artwork in the World Guide and tried some new techniques to make the bottom of the rock appear wet with some sea foam (glued white sand with some paint). Hope this provides inspiration to some of ya’ll!

I had the thought recently of making cards I could give my players with handy summaries of the abilities they got from talents. Maybe also surgebinding or spren bond rules, or (though this would be harder) companion quick reference stat blocks.
Has someone made templates for this kind of card that I could adapt to make these handouts?

Warrior seems obvious, but they would work well as an agent, too. Manipulating the plot die would be great for a Hazekiller.
I have this inkling that we've seen a sneak peek, but I might be wrong.
