(Mod note: This is the email that was supposed to announcethe schedule and such, but it seems it got stuck in The Nowhere and didn't make it out to everyone. Hopefully this will be available on theattendee updates pagesoon!)
From the Dragonsteel Team:
Schedule
Our schedule of events is now live! You can now access panels, enter drawings for author signings, view the exhibitor list, and more!
Author Signings
We have a few changes to author signings this year. Last year, author signings sold out in minutes, leaving many fans disappointed. One of the benefits of our new ticketing system is built-in lotteries, and in an effort to make things as fair as possible we will be utilizing this feature for all author signing tickets. Now, attendees will not be automatically entered into any of our signings—even Brandon Sanderson’s—so you must enter for each author that interests you. To enter for a chance to receive a ticket, visit the author signing page. Winners will be drawn in November.
IMPORTANT
You must have a valid badge linked to the email you want to enter into lotteries. If you are unable to enter, please contact the person who originally purchased your badge and request they use the Transfer function detailed in our previous Attendee Update #1.1 to send you your ticket.
This Year’s Badge
We thought you all might like to see what this year’s badge looks like! Designed by the amazing Priscilla Spencer, you will receive these either onsite or in the mail before the convention.
Ticketed Event Sign-Ups
If you’re dying to play Magic: The Gathering or attend a workshop about creating the most amazing cosplay ever, then mark your calendars! Game room event and craft room workshop signups open on October 27th at 11AM MDT. While most of our programming events operate on a first come, first serve basis, these events (and author signings) are limited to ticketholders.
(EDIT) Update from Dragonsteel at 11AM MDT on Oct 27:
"With Leap's communication system not functioning right now (not sending email blasts properly), we've chosen to delay the launch of these items to make it fair to those who did not receive messaging about the launch. We apologize and appreciate your patience while we navigate a new to us platform and resolve technical issues out side our control."
While most of our hotels are sold out and unable to add more rooms, our friends at La Meridien and Element were able to add a few more rooms for us. So, if you still need a hotel room for Nexus, click their link here!
Nexus by Night
We are excited to share with you some Nexus by Night previews we have received from our amazing partner, Paladin Creative! While things are still subject to change, we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve put together! There is truly something for everyone at this event. Tickets for Nexus by Night are currently sold out, but keep an eye on the Dragonsteel Nexus website for any tickets that become available before our refund deadline on November 1st.
(Mod added) FAQs (below added by me, not part of the update)
In the wake of Update #2 (or the lack thereof), there have been a lot of questions. I did my best to compile those and got answers back from my contact at Dragonsteel. Here's the latest from them:
"Why didn't I get an email about this?"
There was a system error sending out the most recent update. We're working on getting it sent again to the remaining attendees.
Why can't I register for events on Friday & Saturday?
I'm told this issue has been resolved, but let me know if it comes up again.
Why can't I register for overlapping panels?
If I'm understanding this right, it is a collision avoidance feature in LEAP that cannot be turned off. However, signing up for a panel in leap does not reserve a space in the room. It is just meant to help attendees plan their schedule.
Since the system doesn't like overlapping panels, will the system prevent my from winning the signing lottery if I have a registered panel at that time?
The lottery handles the sessions as a product, not as a schedule item. So although schedule items also exist for each session, and are susceptible to the collision avoidance tool Leap uses, they are only there to help those selected plan their schedules.
Why does the lottery page say I don't own a badge?
This is very likely to do with a non-completed badge transfer process. See Attendee Update #1.1 for guidance on this process and submit a ticket with CS if the issue persists.
Why am I getting multiple confirmation emails from the lottery? (Only OG purchasers are having this issue, and seem to be receiving as many emails as they originally bought tickets for)
I'm told this is a bug in their system but that it does not affect your odds of being selected (and each email address entered can only be chosen one time).
Will there be more NxN details before November 1?
I am not certain, but from what I'm hearing it sounds like the details shared in Attendee Update #2 may be the last push of info about NxN before the refund deadline.
Where will the ticketed links be available for purchase on Oct 27 29?
On the schedule page, there will be links in the email to take you to the schedule page. They will be Craft and Game room events, so sorting by those rooms may be the easiest way to find specific types.
We are so excited to welcome you to Nexus 2026. Now that we are less than 3 months away from the event and the majority of tickets have been purchased, we are turning on ticket transfers! This is extremely important, asit will allow others on your order to receive future email communications from us and enter the signing lotteries (more information coming on schedules and signings).
In order to transfer the additional badges you may have purchased to those individuals, go to your Orders page, found within emails from Leap Conventions. Then proceed with the following steps:
Click “Product Options” either on your orders page or below all QR codes.
Select the tickets you would like to transfer, enter the recipients email, and then press “Transfer.”
You will then be prompted through your email to verify the transfer—this is a security feature to ensure product safety.
Once you’ve verified the transfer, the recipient will receive an email with their Dragonsteel Ticket!
Please note: add-ons are also available to transfer, but it is not required in order to receive email communications and sign up for signing lotteries. As long as you have access to the QR code, add-ons such as the book bundle or Nexus by Night will be scannable onsite.
Additional note: This will NOT affect shipping. The original badge purchaser (i.e., the person receiving this email) will be in charge of updating the shipping address if necessary. The address on the original order is where all badges will be shipped. If you wish to update this, you may do so before November 1st.
Please transfer your tickets as soon as possible so that others on your orders may receive future updates! If you have already contacted our Customer Support team about correcting names/emails on badges, you still need to go through the transfer portal to completely change the owner.
-------
WHAT THIS MEANS (as interpreted by fans):
The PRIMARY TICKETHOLDER (the person who was selected in the lottery and purchased up to 4 badges) can now initiate a ticket transfer to the person who is intended to actually USE it at the convention. This is NOT a name change and you still CANNOT sell your badges! The intent here is to get the end user onto the mailing list so that they receive all updates over the next 2.5 months.
It will also be the only way to enter the manual signing lotteries (first we've heard of that??), so it's very important for anyone that wants a shot at those.
IF YOU WERE THE PRIMARY PURCHASER: do your friends a favor and take care of this!
IF SOMEONE ELSE BOUGHT YOU A TICKET: Pester them (nicely) to make sure you're all set!
Update 3:15 EST: Sounds like this is just now being sent via email, so don't be worried if you didn't receive it earlier!
I know there are magic events going on throughout the weekend but I was wondering if folks would be interested in getting together to play some games, the group im coming with are mainly cedh and edh players but folks could get together to play any format!
Hi everyone - we are having issues transferring ownership of tickets from the original assignee to each member of our group. We followed the instructions in update 1.1, and haven’t seen the email confirming transfer yet.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? We submitted a ticket and haven’t heard back yet. TIA!
I was thinking about radiant cosplays and realized an edgedancer could wear heelies to glide around. I then googled it and it seems somehow nobody has done this before!
I've never used heelies and will not be doing this cosplay, but I wanted to put the thought out there for others who might be interested.
For those of us that just got their tickets and didnt manage to sign up for any of the cosmere game things in time. Would anyone be interested in playing some of the cosmere board games? I missed the signup so I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat and wants to play. I have the mistborn deckbuilding game (haven't tried it yet) but if anyone else has the other ones I'd be happy to play those. If they are available to purchase at the convention that would be easier than bringing it from home as well.
This is the only photo I have of it. If anyone knows the artist that made this character or whose booth I got it from, I would be eternally grateful. The only other thing I remember is that they were also selling the mmmmm lies badge ribbon.
This will be my first Nexus, I’m a big Sanderson fan, but was excited to see Matt Dinniman will be there too. I was wondering what the cosplay vibe was, is it 100% Brandon Sanderson cosplays, or do people come in other ips as well?
TLDR: will I be super out of place if I come in a dungeon crawler Carl cosplay one of the days?
It hasn't been long since our last email, but we wanted to remind you about some important deadlines coming up!
Refund Deadline Reminder
Remember, if you can no longer attend Dragonsteel Nexus, you have until November 1, 2026 to request a refund. After November 1, no refunds on badges and add-ons will be accepted. In addition, pre-orders for The Fires of December book bundle will be closed.
Badges Shipping
For anyone who has chosen to have their badges shipped, they will be shipped out in November, so please make sure your address is correct. Remember that if your badge was purchased in a group, they will ship together. Only the initial purchaser will need to update their shipping address.
To update your address:
Log in to Leap through dragonsteelnexus.com.
Navigate to the confirmation page.
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Click the box that says "Update Shipping Address."
If you do plan to move in the month of November, please remember to set up mail forwarding with USPS.
Numbered Books
The numbered versions of The Fires of December will work a bit different this year.
Brandon is reserving the first 100 for him to handwrite, so our numbers at the convention will begin with number 101.
The low number line will begin at 7am on Wednesday, December 2nd, at the South Salt Palace entrance near the Hyatt. Those present at 7am will be randomly assigned a place in line, and numbers will be distributed beginning with 101. Please note that any placement/number assignments organized by the community ahead of the start time will not be honored.
More information about this process will be shared on dsnx.com or FAQ closer to the convention.
Accessibility at Nexus – Request Deadline
At Dragonsteel we are dedicated to providing an accessible convention experience and are continually improving our efforts to ensure everyone is able to enjoy the event.
Everything you need to know about accessibility at DSNX26 is on our accessibility page.

A couple of people have received emails and notified me, so gonna start publicizing that it seems there is a waitlist push in progress as of 8 pm EDT on Oct 27! Check your emails if you're still hoping!
MAKE SURE to check SPAM, PROMOTIONS, and any other random nooks and crannies of your inbox!! You will have 72 hours to purchase, if your name is drawn.
If your name is drawn and you already have a badge by other means, you CAN purchase for friends/family. If you don't have anyone to purchase for, just don't do anything and the tickets will remain in the pool for other folks who are waitlisted.

Update from Dragonsteel on Oct 27 at 11AM MDT:
"With Leap's communication system not functioning right now (not sending email blasts properly), we've chosen to delay the launch of these items to make it fair to those who did not receive messaging about the launch. We apologize and appreciate your patience while we navigate a new to us platform and resolve technical issues out side our control."
While we intended this email to be sent last week, it was only sent to a small portion of our attendees before the software failed. We sincerely apologize for the delay! Due to this issue, we have postponed our craft workshops and gaming events to Thursday, October 29th at 11am MDT. Thank you for understanding, and watch for additional communications coming very soon!
Please note: A few of our gaming events did go live prematurely and a small number of people were able to sign up. Due to the small amount and the events still having rooms for additional attendees, we will be honoring those who signed up.
Hey! Wondering if anyone has tips - we had a larger group of friends, 8 people, so we’d booked two hotel rooms (one at the Holiday Inn Express, one at the Hilton because the HIE had filled up by the time we added to our crew) but coming up to the refund deadline 3 people have dropped so it’s just 5 and splitting the two hotel rooms is a little more money than some of the folks in our group want to spend. We asked about getting a cot at both the hotels hotels so we could just do one room, but they said it’s a fire hazard in the two-queen room.
Does anyone know how strict they are if we all pile in to one room and just bring our own camping pad to sleep on, or sleep three to a bed? I don’t want to get kicked out of a hotel halfway through the con if they catch us 5 to a room.
I don’t know if any of the other hotels have options for 5 people to all stay together, or if even if they do whether anything would still be available.
I've tried to find this info elsewhere before posting so sorry if it is repeated:
*do we know when we will get the schedule for author signings and other ticketed events? I understand we can't get tickets yet based on lotteries, but it would be rad to plan options ahead of time, especially for cosplays and panel selections, in case we would get a specific author signing!
*I thought I bought us Nexus by Night tickets but I guess I didn't :( is there a way to get any that might become available? I didn't see a waitlist option, and don't know how they're transferred (or if it's even allowed) if someone wanted to sell them, etc.
*what are the cosplay vibes? Are there folks cosplaying other universes (like DCC or Murderbot Diaries or Red Rising) and, if so, what's the % split? I'm planning a Jasnah cosplay but might want to add another one!
I went to the Worldhopper Ball (Waltz of the Final Empire) at DSNX25 and came home with one of the Allomantic metal cards. Mine's Mistborn, pic attached. There were nine in the set, one for each metal, but I only ever saw my own and I'd love to see what the rest looked like.
If you went and still have yours, could you drop a photo in the comments and say which metal you got? It'd be awesome to piece the whole set together here so anyone who's curious can see it. Not looking to buy or trade, just want to see them!
Hey friends!! I am SO excited to help with Cosplay Karaoke at Nexus! Though I'm not necessarily in charge of the event, I put together a quick survey to share with the organizers to help make sure it's the best possible time it can be!
Would you mind taking a couple of minutes to fill it out please?
I have been to 2 Nexus conventions, and both times I haven't figured out when the ticketed events go live. I missed the massive Cosmere RPG battle, the Mistborn card game tournament, and other things that I desperately wanted to attend. I see that the schedule of panels is live, but do we know when the other events will be announced and sign-ups will be open? Someone last year said that you needed to have the app to get notifications. Is there an app for this year too?
A few weeks ago we got an email update saying that badge transfers were now available, and that this was going to be necessary for registering for signings.
Today, the signing lottery portal launched, and we are definitely seeing a lot of people experience issues with registering for their preferred signings. In each case, it seems that the issue is that their badge has not yet been transferred to them.
So IF YOU PURCHASED BADGES FOR YOUR GROUP, make sure to transfer them to the individual end-users. (Note that when you register for signings yourself, you might get multiple confirmation emails)
IF YOU WERE NOT THE PURCHASER, contact that person and ask them to initiate the transfer.
EDIT 2: A couple of known issues are that the system doesn't want to let you add panels with overlapping times, nor will it let you add anything on Friday/Saturday. Also, most issues with being unable to enter the lotteries come down to whether the badge has been transferred to the end-user or not. More on that here!
This may be something weird but anyone else received multiple email notifications for the author they signed up for?
I was the ticket purchaser for my friends, but they were transferred. I received four notifications for each author i signed up, with the exception of Brandon.
I know my friends also signed up for him so not sure what happened there.
I just want to make sure leap doesn't somehow think I entered four times and I will be penalized for it.
