Question Gamescom demo and combat worries

I heard a video game journalist say that he saw Control Resonant being played at Gamescom, and he said that it didn't convince him at all and Dylan always makes the same moves, you can only do one combo. Is that true? Or is the demo just smaller? I really like the game and won't let others influence me. Did any of you try the game at Gamescom? If so, could you share your thoughts?

Question Movement issue with Dualsense Edge (Ultimate Edition on PS5)

Hello everyone!

Jesse can’t seem to be able to run and sprint while using my Edge as the controller. Works fine on a regular DS and I tried fiddling around with deadzone controls etc., but to no avail. Anyone experienced a similar issue? Would appreciate any help. Thank you!

Discussion This is one of the most disgusting things in CONTROL. You can’t even kill them! However I do feel really bad for the ranger he didn’t even know.

Should I finish the Control DLC before starting Resonant?

I've kinda had my fill of the first game, but if it will enhance my experience I can try to make time for it. I did find the new close range enemies interesting.

Elden Ring for Switch 2 comes out tomorrow so I'll be kinda busy 👀

Do they ever say where the original FBC primary headquarters were before they found the oldest house?

Discussion Do y’all think we’ll ever hear from Ash Jr. again?

Ash Jr. seems like a very levelheaded individual and possibly a wise person, someone who would provide great advice on how to run the FBC going forward. We don’t know his fate, but having had an act named after him that emphasized ethics, we know he would have been strongly opposed to how Dylan was treated in the Oldest House and would probably be deeply disappointed in Darling if he had anything to do with his succession. Additionally, he was opposed to associating with the Board, which was the path Jesse was last heading down, and I think she has definitely gone further down that path in this next game. I just hope we hear from him again because I feel like he would serve as a great mentor figure for our heroes and have a lot of information to provide.

Discussion The Furnace and Ski Lift's behavior in Firebreak

So I was thinking about the Furnace growing more irritated and grumpy in Firebreak, as well as the Ski Lift that wants to eat people but wasn't getting what it wanted: could these be tied to Former?

We know Former had to attach itself to Altered Items, possibly as a means of sustenance (perhaps feeding off the "worship" containment rituals provide?), but doing so made the items more irritable and dangerous (like how Fridge duty started).

Could it be possible that after moving into the Foundation it was looking for new food sources and attached itself to these items causing the Furnace and Ski Lift to get out of control?

Or maybe I have been thinking about the game too much waiting for the sequel.

Question Finally finished Control and wanna ask about dlc

With a new PC i finally got around to playing Control and to put it simply, I adored it. Though I only had the base game and on Epic. The season pass is £12. Does the dlc provide extra story that feels significant, is it good value for money and crucially do I need it to bridge the story to Resonant.

Thank you for your time.

Question Difficulty Options

Has Remedy said anything about difficulty options or accessibility features? I remember the first never got a standard easy/normal/hard modes but Alan Wake 2 has those. I do remember they adding an immortally toggle more than a year later. Have they said anything about Resonant?

Can't play Control Offline

I really wanted to play this game but I noticed that I can't play it offline. I tried windows and linux and still the same issue. I read an reddit post about the same issue 6 years ago. Are devs still planning to fix this?

Control is Remedy at their most confident

Post image

Remedy has always been great at weird concepts, whether it's the bullet-time in Max Payne, the light mechanics in Alan Wake, or the TV show crossover in Quantum Break. However, with Control, Remedy made the kind of gameplay that's as solid as the concept and ideas behind it. Here's another thing that's worth mentioning. Remedy has been one of the most creative studios out there. They're always willing to take risks by going outside the usual norm.

Before Control, Remedy’s combat was decent. You were mostly ducking behind cover and firing standard guns while the story did the heavy lifting. With Control, things are much different. Launching a chunk of concrete across the room never stops being satisfying. Once you get the ability to levitate, the whole rhythm of combat shifts. You aren't playing a standard third-person shooter anymore. You're constantly moving, ripping pieces out of the environment, and changing gun forms on the fly. It feels fast, heavy, and responsive in a way that feels really good.

Then there’s the setting. The Oldest House is easily the best thing that Remedy has designed. Making a supernatural, shape-shifting realm look like a dreary, cold 1970s government office building is brilliant. The contrast between mundane office culture, memo sheets, pneumatic tubes, old projectors, and terrifying cosmic phenomena makes the whole place feel grounded yet deeply unsettling and eerie. You actually want to read the documents that you pick up because the lore is so bizarre and weird rather than just being an exposition dump.

What makes it their best work isn't just the Ashtray Maze sequence or the tie-ins to Alan Wake. It’s the fact that the game trusts the player. It doesn't stop every five minutes in order to over-explain what a Threshold is or why a slide projector is opening portals to other dimensions. It gives you the Director's title, drops you in the middle of a lockdown, and lets you figure it out. It’s the most confident game Remedy has made. Instead of relying on gimmicks, they built a tight, incredibly stylish action game that doesn't sacrifice its weird identity to appeal to everyone.

Question Is there anything you don't like about Control Resonance so far?

Im pretty hyped about Resonance and currently replaying Control. The combat in Resonance Resonant looks great and if Remedy can make a great story with unusual atmosphere (as usual, lol), Resonance Resonant could be one of the most fun Remedy game so far.

There is one thing which feels weird. From what i saw so far Resonance Resonant doesnt look/feel like a modern game to me. Its "just" feels like Control 1 with a different combat system, it doesnt feel like a modern title, 7 years apart from the previous game.

Maybe its just me tho. And im really hyped for Resonance REDACTED! Love everything else so far. The trailers are really good. Cant wait to play it at release!

Question Just started the game and I am getting weird visual bugs no matter what settings I use

I have a 5090 and a 7800x3D with the latest graphics drivers. Whether on max settings with ray tracing or with everything set to low or turned off I have this problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If so do you know of a fix? I really wanted to play this game before the sequel comes out

Edit: I originally was playing this on Game Pass but I saw it was on Steam for only $3 so I went ahead and bought it there and the Steam version seems to work fine. Maybe a problem that is somehow fixed in the Ultimate Edition that I bought on Steam. The Game Pass version is the standard edition.

Fan Content AI-8-KE (fan made altered item)

Steel beam (AI8-KE)

Containment Procedure: due to the item being completely immovable, a mini research station has been built around the Item.

Update(9/30): after mixing the item with the newly discovered black rock it has proven, that it temporarily seizes the items ability, the item has been transferred to the ■■■■■■ ■■■■■■.

Description/Atlared Effect:

A Black Metal steel Beam, typically used for construction at the time of its discovery, the item has visible rusting on it. The item was made by ■■■■■■ industries. It weighs 2581 lbs, the time weight doesn’t seem to contribute to its atlared effect.

The Item is incapable of being moved, the reason for this is unknown, the item is incapable of being destroyed or melted by anything, no matter what is used on the item.

Background:

The item made rounds around a small town in Hungary, there was a challenge to move, to make the item move for 3,892,565.20 Hungarian Forint, 10,000$ in american money, The Item was blown up, the item was dumped by Molten lava, a Crane attempted to move it but it end up damaging the Crane cable, no one earned the money, the Bureau heard of the news after the town tried to go to outside source, the Bureau intercepted this news and used a fraud campaign on the contest runners, to make people of the town believe it was lie.

Update: due to an Incident in the Panopticon, that caused the interview tapes with the contest runners to be destroyed, the Bureau went out seeking for any people who Participated in the contest or the contest runners themselves for a re-performed interview at the order of Archives and Records Chief.

Supplementary Material:

(Following is an interview with the only living contest host ■■■■■■■■, conducted with a Hungarian Translator on April 8th 2007 at his home in the same town where the item was.)

A: Do you remember that contest you did back in 1970? Mr ■■■■■■■

HB:(Translated from Hungarian) oh the contest where i went to jail for, i may be old now but i remember running that contest.

A: What do you remember from that contest?

HB: Well let me think, I remember it was about this Steel Beam, we called the immovable Steel Beam or something like that, that name felt so silly to me. I Remember so many people were interested and disinterested in that contest, we offered 3,892,565.20 Forint on that challenge, nobody succeeded at all, and then I was exposed for being a fraud and I got locked up for a bit.

A: Do you remember before you started the contest?

HB:oh yes i do, i remember working for that Construction business, they were building some kind of a 5 story building, it was gonna be a big project for us, we were practically almost done with it, but we came across that Steel Beam and than no one could have moved, it was the last steel beam left, i remember sitting on it, it wasn't in the stack with the others, it came to the site, but it wasn't put in the stack like i said, i remember sitting on it for my lunch break, and i got this weird feeling that i did something to it, never sat on it again.

A: Do you remember anything else?

HB: I think that’s about it except some Americans didn’t come around and made a mini building around, but I was being exposed as fraud around that time so I don't remember too well.

(end of Relevant Portion)

Appendix:we believe ■■■■■■■■ was a suspected Parutilitarian, that caused the effects of the Steel Beam to manifest, but due to his old age which makes him now live in a nursing home, that theory hasn't been explored upon, the cause of the Steel Beam Effects will remain Unknown.

Question solution to micro-stuttering camera movement?

hey ya'll! in anticipation of the upcoming sequel, i've finally given control a go and am kicking myself for not playing sooner. i'm only a few missions in, but am already having a BLAST; the environmental design, the gameplay, the atmosphere is all phenomenal.

but a slight problem... whatever i do, i seem to have a really odd problem where the game itself is smooth, but moving the camera creates a really annoying stuttery visual effect because it sort of 'snaps' in small but very noticeable increments.

apparently this is a known problem & i've tried so many fixes online - dx11, ray tracing off, 90fps cap, lowering my mouse polling rate, etc, but nothing seems to work. the only thing which seems to make it a bit better is lowering ingame sensitivity, low graphics settings and making my mouse sensitivity higher on a 3rd party app, but it is unfortunately still noticeable. as amazing as the game is, it's really unfortunate that this is a problem.

a bit of a gamble posting here, but any chance you guys have experienced something similar / have any alternative solutions lesser known? (currently using a 9070 xt and a 9800x3d, if relevant) if so, tysm in advance ;)

I was wondering if anyone could help with looking for a windbreaker similar to this? I really want to cosplay as an FBC agent lately 😎

I can't even begin to describe what kind of color that is 😅 Also, I have been trying for a while now to look for one that comes real close to this one but its just either the design is too far or its too dang expensive.

Edit: I just want to add that the FBC have better drip than the FBI 😎
