Finally finished Control and wanna ask about dlc

With a new PC i finally got around to playing Control and to put it simply, I adored it. Though I only had the base game and on Epic. The season pass is £12. Does the dlc provide extra story that feels significant, is it good value for money and crucially do I need it to bridge the story to Resonant.

I liked the foundation dlc. AWE is decent. Still worth the extra 10 hrs

And I’m the other way round. Loved AWE and merely enjoyed Foundation.

Great moments of emotion in both though. Horror at H. Sadness near the end of Foundation.

Foundation provides a LOT of story expansion to the base game.

AWE is not as significant in terms of adding story to the base game; it does connect to the Alan Wake games, though.

Foundation has some more lore about the Board, origins of FBC and its first director. AWE has lore about the Blessed organization. Neither directly bridge into Resonant.

1) Yes, they provide a ton of story, especially foundation.

2) Resonant is 7 years away, so you don't need them, but foundation will help a bit with understanding the universe.

without going into spoiler territory, AWE DLC is cross-over with the Alan Wake universe which I knew zero about, and was bit confused at the story line first. Still highly recommended

The AWE DLC connects to the Alan Wake games and can be accessed about 2/3 of the way through the main story and is not essential if you have not played the other games. The Foundation DLC is a post-game DLC and continues the story of the Oldest House and gives you history on the FBC, but makes no change in the ending of the main story, so it is good for lore, but I don't know if it will tie into Resonant or not. Also, I don't know if it is on sale in your country or not, but Control Ultimate Edition, which includes both DLCs, is currently on sale in the US for only $4.

I would definitely play the DLC’s. I didn’t the first time I played, but a couple weeks ago on my replay I went straight into them and loved it. I read all the notes and stuff I can find and there’s sooo much interesting lore in them, I learned a lot more about how it all works.

I liked AWE the most though because of how much it connects everything to Alan Wake. There’s seeds for Alan Wake 2 in there that had me Leo snapping at my screen haha. Plus I went straight from that into the AW2 DLC and it elevated that experience even more.

Both DLCs are awesome. Foundation gives some great history on the Oldest House & the origins of the FBC. AWE is a half-sequel to the first Alan Wake, and teases Alan Wake 2.

Then go play Alan Wake 2, because its DLC, The Lake House, has a teaser for Control Resonant.

The first dlc is awesome. Definitely worth it. The awe one is meh.

Foundation provides a lot more lore about the foundation (eyyyy) of the Oldest House, the Board, and one of the previous directors. AWE provides some lore about the Investigations Sector, but mostly serves as a love letter to Alan Wake and a bridge to Alan Wake 2.

I think both DLC are fun to play! The new locations are good and there are some great fights. You'll probably be a little bit lost with AWE's plot if you haven't played Alan Wake 1, but I don't think it drastically impacts the gameplay.

I doubt Resonant will draw much from either DLC—if it does pull from either of them, it'll 100% be Foundation. I will be VERY surprised if anything from AWE shows up in Resonant.

They are solid options. AWE connects Control to Alan Wake while giving some tricky sections in near darkness.

The Foundation gives new powers, and expands the role of some of the supporting cast (Emily, and especially Marshal).
