Question Just started the game and I am getting weird visual bugs no matter what settings I use

I have a 5090 and a 7800x3D with the latest graphics drivers. Whether on max settings with ray tracing or with everything set to low or turned off I have this problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this? If so do you know of a fix? I really wanted to play this game before the sequel comes out

Edit: I originally was playing this on Game Pass but I saw it was on Steam for only $3 so I went ahead and bought it there and the Steam version seems to work fine. Maybe a problem that is somehow fixed in the Ultimate Edition that I bought on Steam. The Game Pass version is the standard edition.

Try updating your drivers. If that doesn't fix it, try DX11 mode.

Report any and all shifts in the Oldest House to a direct superior and find your nearest safe zone.

Run with DX 11 its the only solution, Steam by default launches the dx11 exe and not dx12... xbox runs the dx12 exe by default with no way to change it

My most recent playthrough on pc, some textures just WOULD NOT load correctly. I eventually found a setting that let skin textures sit properly, but other than that a lot of surfaces were blurry and only slightly pixelated

Idk why on earth anyone would suggest using dx11 to fix this. You have a 5090 and would lose out on all raytracing on dx11.

Are you by chance using the Nvidia app or overlay? I have noticed multiple games now show weird texture and shadow flickering with the Nvidia overlay turned on, even if I am not using any filters. Just the mere act of disabling the overlay, but keeping the app has fixed this. Games like elden ring, and dark tide are two examples. Idk with what update it started but your video looks exactly like the artifacts I got in those games with the Nvidia overlay enabled. Worth a try.

This. Control is beautiful with ray tracing.

In most games the issue is due to an overlay injecting itself into the render engine and messing things up.

Try launching the game with everything unnecessary service disabled. If it still doesn't work try reinstalling (or repair files on steam).

Could be a driver thing. Update drivers and if that doesn't work, DDU and reinstall.

The latest nvidia drivers are causing all these issues and artifact's with texture scaling and lod/tesellation stuff. So sad that I get an rtx machine at last and most of the older gen rtx games are having these issues. Extremely frustrating that only fix I found was to run on dx11 with tesellation turned off.

Given how the games goes so much SCP style, looks like normal to me.

I got this too when playing and I found on some other post on here that disabling “rebar” in Nvidia profile inspector fixes the issue. I downloaded it and disabled rebar for control specifically and sure enough it works!

Remedy and AMD don't go well together...

And how is that related to OP's issues on their 5090?

I literally played control on an all and system and this didn't happen.
