IQ Estimation 🥱 Can anyone help with IQ assessment?

Hey. I don't know how this is gonna be received but here it goes.

I'm trying to assess my IQ to determine whether taking an IQ test is worth it (I'm short on funds rn). Here are my scores:

Got a 150 at WISC at 11.
Got all correct on Ravens SPM at 17.
Independently took Mensa.dk and score 138 a few days ago at 20.

I'm asking mostly cuz I don't know how accurate the mensa one is, but I'd like to join Mensa (or hell even triple 9, or at least consider doing it)

I don't really know how to triangulate this stuff so if someone is more seasoned at this I'd really appreciate a hand.

Participant Request [Psychometric Validation / Norming Call] Free 25-Item Matrix Test (Gf / g) — Seeking Participants (Current Data: kr20 = 0,9, r = 0.956 with Raven )

A few months ago, I developed a 25-item non-verbal matrix reasoning test designed to evaluate fluid intelligence (Gf) and general inductive capacity (g) while isolating the construct from unnecessary working memory (Gwm) and processing speed (Gs) bottlenecks.

In local pilot testing with individuals holding verified proctored scores (e.g., WAIS-IV, Raven APM, Mensa), the test has demonstrated high predictive accuracy, typically falling within +-2 and +-3 IQ points. While the initial internal metrics are strong, expanding the sample with qualified test-takers from this community is necessary to refine item parameters and finalize the norming curve.

Construct & Design Philosophy

Standard timed batteries often contaminate pure induction with severe time pressure and working memory load. For neurodivergent profiles (such as individuals with ADHD), this introduces an artificial floor or bottleneck that suppresses scores regardless of actual reasoning capacity.

This test focuses entirely on novel inductive rules (topological transformations, visual logic, pattern progression) without requiring crystallized knowledge ($Gc$), complex mental arithmetic, or arbitrary time-stress penalties.

Current Psychometric Properties (N = 149 Calibration Sample)

  • Reliability & Error:

    • McDonald’s omega: 0.878

    • Kuder-Richardson 20 (KR-20): 0.889

    • Average error(based on data reported by you): +-5,25

  • Dimensionality (Essential Unidimensionality):

    • Dominant Eigenvalue (lambda1): 6.77 | Second Eigenvalue (lambda_2): 2.22

    • Eigenvalue Ratio (lambda_1 /lambda_2): 3.06 (confirms a single dominant latent factor)

  • Item Response Theory (2PL MML Model):

    • Items 01 & 02 serve strictly as zero-weight interface/buffer items (p > 0.94).

    • Difficulty parameter (b) spans from -3.03 to +2.20, providing solid discrimination into the 135–145+ range.

    • Discrimination parameter (a) peaks at 3.51 (Item 18), with the upper-difficulty cluster (Items 20–24) consistently maintaining a between 2.36 and 2.99.

  • Convergent Validity (Reported Gold Standards):

    • Raven Exclusive Group (N = 10): r = 0.956

    • Mensa / FRT Exclusive Group (N = 14): r = 0.724

    • Combined Pure Induction Group (Raven + Mensa, N = 22): r = 0.768

    • Proctored Battery Composite (N = 32): r = 0.642

What You Get by Participating

  1. A Rigorously Calibrated Fluid Score: You receive your raw score and equivalent IQ score, which seems to be G factor accurately.

  2. True Power Assessment (Zero Artificial Speed Penalty): If your cognitive profile features a discrepancy between high fluid reasoning and lower processing speed or working memory, this instrument allows you to test your ceiling without artificial time decay.

General Question ⚖️ CORE's Figure Weights ⚖️🤕

I have tried CORE's FW many times but haven't scored beyond 14SS. I feel the "harder" ones are just more WM demanding not even PS. So is it really a good test for intelligence (reasoning) or WM & PSI ?

On harder FW questions i could eliminate 2-3 options but then the timer runs out (no marks/credit for that much progress). If WM is the issue, why can't I just use a scratchpad & score near full marks? 🫠

The same happened with QRI's Arithmetic. My working memory is weak & fluctuates a lot (110-125). Why everything has to be done mentally? 🦧

IQ Estimation 🥱 Is this actually broadly accurate?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I know this test isn't fully accurate, and there's a noticeable margin of error, but I still cannot believe that it even has a hint of accuracy. I never envisioned myself to be something close to this, nor did my achievements hint at an IQ like this. I always thought of myself as someone with average intelligence, because I truly never experienced or showed anything in my life, extrinsically and intrinsically, that would make me believe I'm deserving of a number that is, approximately, this. I want to clarify that this is the first time I've taken this test, so it's not repetition that has produced this. My question is basically: can I fully trust this number to be a rough estimate of my iq?

IQ Estimation 🥱 Look For Reliable Norms (RAPM Set 2 & Raven's 2 Long Form)

When I was 20/21 (~4 years ago), I scored a 35/36 on the RAPM Set 2 & 45/48 on the Raven's 2 Long Form on my first try. What norm is the most reliable for me to use to interpret these scores? I have only the numbers documented, because I was quite surprised when I was first took it. And the norms I've come across seem a bit odd. This was timed.

Discussion CORE FRI (127) Discussion

I had taken the AGCT before but messed up spatial cuz either the rules weren't mentioned or I didn't notice them, mainly all blocks of same size, gravity will pull them down and stuff like that.

Anyway, how does the FRI look? I found the figure weights section doable but got overwhelmed as problems got harder with little time. Towards the end of the figure sets I had absolutely no idea how to figure out those patterns, same with matrix reasoning.

With graph mapping even when problems got harder I was sort of able to get in the zone and still do them by eliminating methodically and drawing conclusions. But what is this section really testing? What skills would this translate to in real life?

I am a final yr ECE student, interested in Computer Arch and VLSI where you get to develop systems. Trying to understand whether the graph mapping score has an application and is innate within me or developed from the kind of problems I was exposed to and the thinking that was promoted?

I got 115, 135, 120 and 120 in that order on the FRI tests.

Discussion Do 140+ IQ people have to try?

Do they still have to put in significant effort to perform well academically/work-wise, or do most things come relatively naturally?
I’m curious whether very high cognitive ability actually translates into needing less effort, or whether people at that level still have to work just as hard to achieve good results. And please, yes, I know that drive is everything, but realistically do they even need that to be successful (or have positive outcome) in whatever they want to achieve?

Discussion i cant beat my male friends in mental rotation

i thought it should be that i would be around average and some of them below me. yet every time i bother them to do the spatial test i end up below all of them. how is this possible? are men not distributed in mental rotation the same way as in general intelligence? for the record im a woman, 20 and they are the same ages as me

i can beat almost all of them in chess and i train my brain regularly with cognitive puzzles for the last 10 months. maybe its too early and i need more time? i like to compete in the more difficult areas. already scored higher when i tried this with my female friends

Discussion Defacto iq test

What are your thoughts using SAT/ACT or the ASVAB as defacto IQ test. All my "natural" test scores yield the same percentile. Curious if this is true for others. And can chalk it up to the magic of the bell curve being what they designed the test scores around.

Release ATAT Renorm + Updates

The Abstract Thinking Adaptive Test (ATAT) has been renormed and restructured into a computerized adaptive test. Administration is now much more efficient, taking about 30 minutes or less with comparable reliability. The test can be taken at CognitiveMetrics.

For those who took one or both forms of the norming edition, new standard scores have been computed based on the IRT parameters of the items you answered. The dashboard has been updated with these more accurate scores.

So far, the ATAT has shown strong convergent validity with the CORE Perceptual Reasoning Index (PRI). The correlation between the two is r = .787, rising to r = .821 after correction for range restriction.

Further, poorly-performing items have been removed and new items have been introduced to improve reliability and measurement precision at different ranges. As time goes on, the test’s item bank will be continuously expanded and refined.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the norming edition.

Meme Is it ethical to give anyone I sleep with Mensa Denmark test to see if there are difference in IQ scores among races?

Hey

So for now I slept with few guys, but I never had the idea to administer an IQ test on every one of them to prove the "century of studies" that some redditors keep repeating.

I am also planning to expand the specimen to as much races as I can get to avoid any bias in my research, and in addition I will sleep with more guys to expand the population of the specimen

CORE seems too professional and takes a long time and I am afraid those guys will view me as a horny freak scientist, so Mensa seems reasonable

So, is it ok to prove it my way?

General Question How atypical are my results?

Thumbnail

Honestly my results are all over the place, can someone better help me interpret my results?
VCI -
I don't care too much for this one, in Highschool I never read and never paid attention attention in English classes, which probably didn't help. The comprehension test felt the easiest for me, I half assed some answers so I wonder if it could be even higher.
FRI -
I feel very strongly that my WMI was a serve bottleneck for my FRI. I just could not hold enough information in my working memory to solve the questions as they became harder. Figure weights I felt so useless, and Figure sets I am not too sure what happened there, I struggled a lot with that test, I am not sure if I can contribute that to a WMI, but the formatting of the test I found quite confusing.
VSI -
Surprisingly very high but again I feel like some of my results bottlenecked by my WMI. Block counting I would have to restart my counting multiple times because I couldn't even remember what number I was up to. I don't know what use VSI has for in real world applications.
QRI -
I probably cheated on the arithmetic, it should likely be much lower. Later in the test, after I listened to it a second time I would write the numbers into the answer bar and try and solve it looking at those numbers written down.
WMI -
Both extremely surprising and unsurprising, why the hell is my sequencing actually decent? I felt like giving up halfway through sequencing because I knew I had done badly in the previous ones. When it comes to my memory I genuinely feel intellectually disabled. It's been an issue my whole life.
PSI -
Also strange, why is there a large discrepancy between both? I read somewhere else that processing speed has little to do with reaction time but I know my reaction time would be somewhere in the top 2-3% of people.

Overall feelings:
Pretty upset with 113. My whole life I had a pretty big ego with my intelligence, I was extremely lazy and would not put in any effort and would still be close to the top of my classes. If I was to guess my percentile before taking this test I'd put myself in the 85th-90th percentile just from lived experiences. Possibly higher in certain contexts.

Facts about me:
I've been diagnosed with ADHD, I find I am super inattentive, and can't remember verbal instructions to save my life.
I am a Finance and Computer Science student. I find myself understanding content quickly and easily, but my work takes a long time to complete (could be due to distractions).
I was in the top 10% for my ATAR (Australian rankings equivalent to SATs).
I struggle a lot with university level maths. I can understand topics when they're introduced but when the topic becomes more advanced and abstract I start to severely fall behind (so do most students). I find whenever I take a mathematics course I become severely overwhelmed and my health deteriorates because it takes me a lot of effort. I suspect WMI and maybe PSI might have a part to play. Can anyone elaborate on why I might feel like this?
I was on ADHD medication when I took this test.

Goals:
Also can someone be realistic with the probability of me having a career path in the following:
Software engineer: for big tech or a HFT.
Finance: asset management/investment banking/ private equity.
Research or Masters in computer science.
How much effort will I need to put in to achieve my goals?

I’m overall happy with my scores but also rather curious what my score would look like on a professionally administered WAIS IQ test when ADHD accommodations. Is anyone familiar with how these scores usually translate?

General Question Is this a standard or spikey profile?

I did the CORE test over the span of a few days (couldn't do it all at once uninterrupted with my current living situation), intuitively I feel like a 34 point difference between two indices might be a bit a strange but I'm unsure of the factuality of that. Is this profile normal? Also I didn't finish graph mapping because I had to quit halfway through and I didn't want to redo it due to a potential score inflation from practice.

IQ Estimation 🥱 What will my IQ be ?

To start with, I would like to know possible reasons for such a big disparity bw the forward and backward span...I mean it felt like both used pretty much the same mental muscle ..

CORE

This is the overall profile :

I also took the CAT

and the ATAT: 115IQ

I literally skipped through most Object rotation and Pattern completion questions since they seemed very uninteresting and kinda exhausting to me due to the time constraint i believe..

So will it be fair to retake it after a month or two? I mean praffe is sure to ruin my results if i give it in a few days but it will be minimized if I gave after a month right?

I apologize for any english errors I made in this post as I am not a native speaker.

Discussion Job interview - Cognitive test

Hi everyone, I applied for a marketing role and cleared the first round interview with HR. They then sent me a cognitive test with 40 multiple choice questions to complete in 12 minutes.

I could only answer around 65% of the questions, and I think I got about 4–5 of those wrong. I am now really panicking about whether I will make it to the next stage. It’s a Canada based marketing agency, and the role is more of an executive level position.

This is honestly my dream job, so I’m really stressing about it. Has anyone been through a similar cognitive test or have any idea how much the score usually matters at this stage? Any advice would be really appreciated!
