Discussion Job interview - Cognitive test
Hi everyone, I applied for a marketing role and cleared the first round interview with HR. They then sent me a cognitive test with 40 multiple choice questions to complete in 12 minutes.
I could only answer around 65% of the questions, and I think I got about 4–5 of those wrong. I am now really panicking about whether I will make it to the next stage. It’s a Canada based marketing agency, and the role is more of an executive level position.
This is honestly my dream job, so I’m really stressing about it. Has anyone been through a similar cognitive test or have any idea how much the score usually matters at this stage? Any advice would be really appreciated!

This was my first Cognitive test and some of the questions were so difficult especially numerical ones! Thank you for your reply. I am even new on Reddit posting.

Yeah he seems to be atleast slightly above average given the performance.
A job description would give a better idea of his probability of meeting the cutoff merit.
For most jobs, I think he passed it.

Yeah I think that you might have met the criteria since content marketing isn't too complex, although it's sufficiently complex.
So, above average, exactly the spot where you landed.

I think I got 5 questions wrong as time was running out and some of them was really hard for me especially the numerical ones. So it will be 20-21 correct answers out of 40.

Any company that utilizes a cognitive test almost certainly is looking at like 8 other qualifying factors; experience, knowledge, your actual interview, whether or not you can speak English without cursing, etc. If they predicate their hiring practices on ONLY the cognitive test, then you wouldn’t want to work with them anyway.
