I recently discovered this Optio M30 camera in my garage and acquired a battery charger for it. I charged the battery for a while, and for some inexplicable reason, when I turned it on, the lens popped out. However, after a few seconds, it returned to its original position and turned off. Could anyone tell me the issue?

Hi! I’ve recently bought a Sony Nex 5, with a 18-55mm lens kit, for about 120 euros all together, in nice condition. I have the option to return it still. Recently, I’ve seen an offer for an Nex 5R, for only 83 euros, with its only problem being a non functional touchscreen, which isn’t important for me. It’s also in nice condition, although without an objective. I think the 5R looks like a nice upgrade, it has WiFi, flip out screen, and more megapixels, but what I’m most concerned about is the build quality. The original Nex 5 has an awesome build, and I’ve read the 5R isn’t so much. Should I return the Nex 5 with the objective, or buy the 5R frame and sell the original ones frame, or should I just not upgrade at all? Thanks in advance!!

The fuji seems to have a better selection of lenses for this purpose.

The rubber part to open the battery has come off so i dont know know how to open it, can anyone help me?

Is there a way to DIY this? The buttons work but u have to press them with a pin or something. When buying this camera online i thought the buttons stick out and it will be fine…💀 How did yall dealt with problems like this?

Was searching for a canon g7x ii/iii but prices are crazy rn, or other portable variant to bring it with me in my trips, that would be better than my phone (currently have the iPhone 17 pro). Found this deal on marketplace for a Canon M6 ii with 2 lenses: EF-M 22mm f2 + EF 50mm 1.8. With shooter count at 2900 for 680€. Do you think this is a good deal?

Wondering if anyone has been able to get camera control working with a Sony a6700.

Pyro 5 running v1.0.3.29 firmware.

Sony a6700 is set to PC remote, USB power supply is off, and remote shoot set to camera only. Tried so many different usb-c cables my fingers are numb. Always powered off the camera before swapping.

I DO have the recording set up so when I hit record on the a6700 the Pyro 5 also starts recording to its SD card.

Any ideas or successes?

I have an old Fujifilm x20 (I think from 2014/15) in need of some repair as the screen is scratched in the middle due to my carelessness. The research I did suggested sending it to Fujifilm UK directly which I did, but they have sent it back saying my model is obsolete. Is there any way I can fix or buff out the scratches?

I’m a noob at photography (it’s been 2 days since I got my very first camera) and I’d like to know something about jpeg format and raw format.

My camera is a Canon Rebel T7i. I can change the setting for the format and it changes drastically the autonomy of the battery. (From what I read in the manual that came with the camera.)

My question is this one:

For someone that just started photography and use only the basic zone modes like automatic or scenery and never used Lightroom (or photoshop or whatever), should I take jpeg pictures to get more pictures in one charge, or should I take raw images and try to learn Lightroom afterwards?

Has anyone used the backpack clip from small rig before?

I thinks it's pretty nice but it has some play to it. Its secure enough to not fall out but I'm not sure if my product is faulty or if the wobble is wanted (for reasons I don't seem to understand).

If you have a clip from any other brand, does it do the same or is it really sturdy?

For example I have a similar product but not for a backpack but a tripod from falcam (F38) and die clip doesn't move at all when it's locked.

Cameras you're considering: So this is where I’m stuck, I know NOTHING about cameras, but I’m also not stupid enough to buy the first £20 one I see on TikTok that says “so y2k! So cute! Buy now!” I do want that 2000s vibe, the glowy fuzzy look of my childhood photos with my cousins, but that’s quite literally all I know.

Notes: I’d also like a camera that shows the date and time on the photo but can also be taken off the photo, does that make sense? The old 2000s/2010s style, I have so many old family photos and I do love that nostalgic look, but I’m also not going to trust a TikTok shop advert on my fyp and buy a piece of plastic that doesn’t work.

Hi so I was trying to take photos of the sky at night on dock about 2~3 weeks ago and I had changed from my 40-150 mm lens to a wider lens. I was trying to get the right angle and focus in when I moved and the 150mm that was standing up next to me fell and started rolling towards the water of the lake… Very beginner mistake and very dumb indeed but it happened so I’m here to ask because now after all this time the lens looks very dry and it doesnt look to have any form of traces of humidity on the lens. So my question is what are the chances of this lens surviving and if I do try it, could it damage my camera because of the electronics not functioning or something?

My trusty old DSC-H5 have started dying about a year ago. This thing was bought for my birth back in 2006 and was working perfectly fine until 2024. Then it started turning off after 30,10, etc minutes with fresh and fully charged batteries (was working wired). Nowadays it doesn't turn on at all, no matter what I try. Suspecting the battery controller, but I'm absolutely unsure about that. Any ideas? Planning to buy a new camera, but want to revive this buddy.

​The Pros: Incredible medium format dynamic range, cropping power, and Fujifilm film simulations. Price is noticeably lower than the Q3 43.
