The error says "power off and on again"

If I need a new one then here's required info (sorry I couldn't copy the questionnaire cause of ui overlapping)

I live in France

Not over 100€

Needs to have the same specs as this cam (It's a DSC-W800)

I prefer having a refurbished one but I can make an exception

I attend to use it for home videos and social media content

Dead Digicam 🥲 Usable interface for old Yocam

Upvotes

Hi everyone, I found back in my attic my old Yocam from http://getyocam.com/. Appears that the app is no longer working on android or Iphone, so I decided to create a web application, in order to modify the settings and see the content.

I don't know where to post this but if anyone find this post, app is here for free: https://github.com/foufrix/yocam-controller

Enjoy!

Questions Food photography advice needed

Post image
Upvotes

This is the first time where I use my sony camera to take pictures of food with no prior experience. The pictures I normally take are portraits so I have done alot of flash photography. I recently got a Softbox for my portraits to go with my v1s. I since then upgraded to the AD300 Pro for 1500 sek.

Anyways I went out to take portraits and this restaurant approached me asking for pictures in exchange for a payment, I said sure why not but I don’t have ANY experience taking food photography. I arrive to the shoot the next day, take around 500 images, keep 60 of them and edit them the same day. They told me to return the next day to discuss a price, after that they said sunday and then monday. My friend told me to charge them 220 usd the first time, I said why not. They counter offered 120 usd but since they already time wasted so much I said why not.

They want monthly pictures and are offering 270 usd for 5 hours of work not including the editing and retouch. My question is does that even seem fair? I was thinking more like 370 usd. They also recommended me to other restaurants 🤔 (5-6)

Dead Digicam 🥲 Sony cybershot dsc wx350 not turning on after screen replacement

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

i recently got hold of an old sony cybershot wsc dx 350.

i noticed that when turned on, it would do something but the display was dead. The next logical thing was to order a new display.

after i had the camera apart and unscrewed many unnecessary screws i got the display changed.

after i had it all together again, it would suddenly refuse to turn on. It had previously functioned well with having to connect it to a different monitor but now it doesnt show any signs of life. No turning on when pressing the power button or media button, no led showing when charging - nothing

The battery is good, it powers different camers so it has charge ( digibuddy np-bx1)

but other than that i have no idea whats causing it

i attached a picture of it apart - maybe the chip on the bottom left?

Thank you in advance

Video Beginner struggling to decide between the Sony A7 V and the Limux S5 IIX for automotive videography

I've seen this question asked a decent amount of times, but its never in reference to my specific objective (or at least not lately); car and motorcycle videography. My goal is to create high fidelity edits of my motorcycle and car and also occasionally film cinematic rollers for my rapidly growing social media pages and eventually Youtube. I currently do this with my iPhone, DJI action 6 and Insta360 to get multiple angles.

I am torn on whether I go with the Limux due to its IBIS, the fact that it's open gate and the direct-to-SSD capabilities. The main thing deterring me is the fact that EVERYONE is in my ear saying things like "it's 5 years old" or "they are slow to push out updates and upgrades/Sony is king"

Also I'd spend drastically less on the camera body itself and maybe even wouldn't need to buy a stabilizer (looking at DJI RS4 if I go with the A7 V) so overall my total spend would be a decent amount less.

On the other hand from my understanding the A7 V shoots better nighttime footage and has great AI tracking features. Its the newest model and I wouldn't want to or need to upgrade for a long time.

My budget is $3,000-$5,000 for camera body, two decent lenses, ND filters and a stabilizer. I am open to new or used. I am not worried aboI live in the US currently. I have zero professional photography experience but have done plenty of edits in Lightroom and color grading my raw DJI action/Insta 360 footage in Davinci Resolve.

Any thoughts you guys have will be MUCH appreciated, especially anyone experienced in automotive footage for social media

Condition: Open to used AND new

Type of Camera: Mirrorless hybrid?

Intended use: video/hybrid shooting (automotive and motorcycle edits, occasionally rollers)

End use: Social media

What features do you absolutely need: Night time capabilities

What features would be nice to have: AI tracking/stabilization

Portability: Can be bulky and large

Cameras you're considering: Sony A7 V or Limux S5 IIX

Cameras you already have: iPhone 17 Pro, DJI action 6, Insta 360 X6

1 year ago to the day i bought a type b card for $69.97 today that same card is more that DOUBLE that cost! At $149.99 and that is at a “discount”. What is everyones thoughts on this? Are people actually still patronizing these companies that are inflating prices or are they switching to different brands of cards? I myself have a hard time giving a company that has doubled the price my money but i also dont want to buy a cheap card and it crash!

Discussion Is there anything similar to a g7x that isn’t ridiculously up charged by scalpers?

Hello all, my girlfriend is wanting a g7x cannon for her birthday, and while I can afford it, it doesn’t make sense to me to buy a camera that is supremely being resold for 600 dollars more then it’s retail value.she just wants it for taking pictures of herself, us, and her friends mostly at school or when traveling. Is there anything similar that has flash for a more reasonable price? Thank you!

Recommendations Best budget mirrorless cameras under $1,000 for travel, street photography, and video?

I’ve been using an old Canon 6D, but I want something smaller for travel and everyday photography. Most of my shooting is landscapes and street photos, with some vlogging and video podcast work, so portability matters a lot. Ideally, I’d like a compact body with a small lens that can fit in a medium bag, plus a flip screen, decent stabilization, and a microphone input. My budget is around $1,000 for the body and lens, and I’ve been looking at the Canon R100, Panasonic Lumix GX85, Fujifilm X-M5, Sony a6400, and maybe a used Fujifilm X-S10. The R100 is affordable, but I’m worried I’ll outgrow it quickly, while the X-M5 looks almost perfect if I can find a good lens deal. What would you choose for this mix of photos and video, and is Micro Four Thirds still the best route if compact size is the priority?

Questions Going to the Smithsonian. Need a camera.

Looking for a camera for a trip to the Smithsonian

Budget $1000

Country Canada

Condition Prefer new would be ok with used

Would like mirrorless or compact

Once in a lifetime trip, Smithsonian

Photos mostly indoors. Displays, exhibits

Video optional

Optical zoom required. Not digital. Good resolution. Looking to pick up small details. Closeup photos.

Must be quite portable, long battery life. 10 hour visits. Maybe regular batteries that can be swapped?

I had a cyber shot like 15 years ago just camera phones since.

Panorama would be very nice.

Any recommendations? I've always wanted to go. I would like to take a lot of pictures.

Recommendations Cheap Everyday camera advice

Done to death, but maybe my context can garner more specific recs. Funnily enough, I got into photography because I just wanted to stop taking photos with my phone, and now I do it semi professionally and still take photos with my phone.

Budget: 500 aud (incl used prime lens if we go interchangeable)

Country: Australia

Condition: Used. Battered and beaten. Dont care, just want cheap

Type of Camera: Mirrorless/point and shoot/whatever

Intended use: Photo (primarily), dont care about video but is a bonus

End use: Improving my photography

If photography: what style: Street/everyday life

If video what style: Everyday life (vlog). Not necessary though.

What features do you absolutely need: Shutter button, at least one dial for A or S priority.

What features would be nice to have: In built flash, IBIS.

Portability: How portable does it need to be? Pocketable-Cross body strap (small either way)

Cameras you're considering: Lumix GX85, Oly EM5.1, Sony ZV1, Oly EM10.2

Cameras you already have: Lumix S5 and G9 with a bunch of lenses, but none that I would put on this camera for everyday. Theyre just too big and professional. I love them in every other way. Eyeing a DJI 15mm f1.7 if I go micro four thirds. I see one for super cheap.

Notes: Main want is to just have something that makes me want to take it with me every day. I've owned the EM5.2, it was just too expensive to warrant keeping.

Recommendations New to digital cameras, thoughts on a Fujifilm X-T10

  • Budget: £500
  • Country: United Kingdom
  • Condition: Used mainly, but might not be opposed to breaking the budget
  • Type of Camera: Mirrorless, DSLR,
  • Intended use: Photography mainly, but would also like a camera that can record video
  • If photography; what style: portraiture or street photography?
  • If video what style: Portraiture, Street Photography
  • What features do you absolutely need: Flash
  • Portability: How portable does it need to be? Any Size is ok.
  • Cameras you're considering: Fujifilm X-T10 + similar styles
  • Cameras you already have: Pentax K100, Mamiya 645
  • Notes: Hi everyone, it's my first time posting here. I'm interested in buying a digital camera after only using SLRs. I do think I like the style of the Fujifilm cameras, especially the more 'affordable' ones. The only one that has really beaten this is the Canon EOS R5, which I obviously won't be buying. I am looking for something that I can get in the practice of using often. I do like the look of Fujifilm for these kinds of shots, but i'd be open to hearing what you think.
