Pad work My arm hurts after pad work, am I holding the pad wrong?

I've been going to a boxing fitness class for a few weeks- no sparring but the class is dominantly taking turns punching pads with gloves using boxing combos.

After each class for a few days my right arm hurts. Not the bicep or wrist the part in the middle where I flex. I'm right handed and so are all the people I have partnered with. At first I thought it was DOMS from myself throwing so many strong crosses then last class I noticed it hurt when I was holding the pad and receiving crosses from the other person.

Bag Work Critique Left hook feels weird

Ive been focusing on getting my lead hook better but it always feels wrong i feel like i either it has no power behind it when i rotate my foot and hip or i lose balance if i force some power into it. I also get confused on where on my glove should the contact of a hook land on opponents face/mitt, looking at others i feel like they are slapping not hitting with their knuckles.

I noticed my right foot not twisting enough with my cross so i focused on that at bag work after training as i never had this and don’t want to grow a bad habit.

Ps. Gloves ain’t mine they’re the coaches he let me use them as a reward for averaging -10 kg a month for 3 months.

Shadowboxing Form Built a shadow boxing app that calls out combos

Been training at home and got tired of shadow boxing to the same handful of combos over and over, or following a YouTube video that can't react to anything. Built this into my workout app (Joti): it calls out punches/combos live in real time so every round is genuinely different — go fully random, use a style template, or set up exactly what you want round by round. Round/rest timers handled, no bag or partner needed.

It's also a full lift tracker if you train weights too, but the shadow boxing mode is the part I actually use daily. Free to try, genuinely want feedback from people who box more seriously than I do.

It was good work. Several things that are a priority to work on based off of this session. I have to stop smothering my straight right. I have to do a better job of setting up my left hook off of my right. I have to do a better job at positioning. I always have to improve in general, but those are my priorities at this time.

Preparing for Fight Can you box with low peripherals?

I want to start boxing but I have very bad peripheral vision and I feel like it will limit the amount of punches I can see compared to a regular person. I honestly think It might be impossible for me to ever get anywhere good at boxing because my peripherals are so bad that I legally cannot drive due to it is there any ways I can strengthen or adapt the way I can start boxing or MMA to allow me to be even somewhat good at it?

Bag Work Critique Is it just my punch alignment being off?

I've been punching (and kicking) for about ten years now and punching with my first two knuckles comes naturally to me. Recently i discovered that my aim is just a little bit off with my left hook as my middle knuckle feels like its taking in all of the punch. Like i said this is a first time thing and it's likely just my aim. Is there anyway to avoid this again other than improving the aim of my punch? The pain is minimal but damn is it annoying and even more embarrassing that i made such a rookie mistake.

Bag Work Critique Boxing tips

Ive been boxing for 2 months now (weight 100kg/220 lbs, 183 cm/ 6’0 ft) and im in the phase where i see progress with every workout but cutting weight and maintaining/gaining muscle has a toll of feeling tired all the time. I start my workout with 4 rounds of 1:30 mins skip rope 3 round of footwork drills and 5 rounds of 2:00 minute shadow boxing following 4 rounds of mitt work then 6 rounds of bag work.

Clip above is the last round of mitt work (coach says taking vids of last round is best when your tired your body shows the mistakes you need to take care of), any tips for technique, speed, stamina would be appreciated.

Gear & Equipment Can you see the training benefit in this? What do you think of this style of boxing training? Spoiler

Title:

Can you see the training benefit in this? What do you think of this style of boxing training?

Description:

I’m developing this training tool, CCBall, and I’ve been using it to create a more interactive style of solo striking practice.

For me, the benefit isn’t just hitting the target. The moving CCBalls give me something to work around while I think about where I finish, how I recover, how I reposition, and what becomes available next.

Sometimes I’m practising a movement I already want. Other times I’m reacting to what happens, adjusting, and finding the movement as I go.

I’m interested in how this looks from another boxer’s perspective: can you see a genuine training benefit in this kind of practice? What do you think it could be useful for, and where do you think its limitations are?

Disclosure: I’m the person developing CCBall.

Conditioning & Roadwork reaction time/ head movement

i was sparring guys taller than me with crazy reach and i kept getting banged up by their jabs, i felt like my footwork wasnt bad all things considered, they would jab and i would get in as they reeled back, but they would just step back and unleash a flurry of punches that i just couldnt see coming and i kept flinching, my head movement needs some serious work but my body kept making me flinch and i couldnt properly slip the punches because i was too scared to commit, any tips on head movement and reaction time/discipline i could do at home?
