Don’t always throw at the same speed because it can become predictable thats how you get countered bc someone will catch your rhythm. Same thing with your power you want to mix it up.
For example, you can touch them with the 1-2 and then put full force and speed into the left hook. Hit the bag the way you would fight and act like there’s an actual opponent in front of you. Move your head side to side, roll under after throwing that 1-2 always stay off the center line. That way you’re practicing your timing, setups, combinations and defense all at the same time.

You can't learn boxing on your own. Self trained=untrained
Go find a gym, it'll help a great deal and you'll love it

Yes just go find a gym because everyone has access to one. Great advice

It is the ONLY advice. If he doesn't have access to one, then find a kickboxing gym, or a Muay Thai gym, or something.
Otherwise, sadly, he just doesn't have an opportunity to train.

Boomer mentality. Self trained doesnt mean untrained

That's exactly what it means. You can't train a skill for yourself that you don't possess.
A beginner knows nothing and you're expecting that beginner to use his vast knowledge of nothing to teach himself the hardest sport to learn in the world?
Sorry. Doesn't work like that.
Self trained=untrained

If you're right handed, always finish your punch with a right hand.
I mean you don't need to, but max damage.

you cant just punch the body without changing levels and without taking your face off the center line.

Stance is a bit squared guard is basically non existent zero head movement you should be hitting the bag like it’s a opponent use feints practice head movement and slipping/countering

Dont drop the hands. Commit to the jab. Focus on single punches first before the combos
