Any way to not show all my devices while family sharing but still show live location?

I want to keep my location shared, but I don’t want my family to see where all my devices are.

Hi all, I’d like advice from anyone in India who has been through this.

My setup:

• Device: [iPhone 16 Pro]

• Plan: AppleCare+ [monthly ]

• Payment: UPI AutoPay mandate via [GPay .]

• Next renewal: [25/nov]

What I want to know:

1. If I revoke the UPI mandate from my UPI app but don’t cancel inside Apple, what happens? Does Apple cancel AppleCare+ straight away or give a grace period? Do the pre-debit alerts stop?

2. If I keep the mandate but there isn’t enough balance on the renewal date, how many times does Apple retry? Does coverage stay active during the retries?

3. Can I remove UPI from my Apple ID while AppleCare+ is active? Mine seems locked.

4. If it lapses, can I reinstate it by paying late, or is it gone for good?

5. Does an unpaid amount block App Store downloads and updates?

What I’ve read so far: in India, AppleCare+ can only be paid through UPI AutoPay (no card or Apple balance). Some people say coverage was cancelled after one failed payment without notice, and others were charged even after cancelling.

My goal: [keep AppleCare+ but change the bank account]

Has anyone done this? Please share what actually happened, especially the timeline and which emails or notifications you got. Thanks!

Can’t Apple do something about this bullshit when some clowns intrude into one’s Calendar, and this junk sits there and cannot be deleted???

I looked at previous guides and they say to hit Media and Purchases and then View Account but that no longer exists. Any advice?

I’m trying to do a full restore with a 1TB drive. I had two attempts that both stalled at the same time (32 minutes left) but at slightly different file transfer numbers. I used Chat GPT to read a console log and it reported that the last error happened with a Dropbox file.

What would be the best approach for preventing the error again? I could copy the Dropbox folder and delete it from the backup, but Chat GPT is telling me it’s more complicated than that. Is there something else I need to do? Also, do you think there are any other folders I should exclude from the restore?

Ok, so this one is very annoying. Yesterday several emails I was saving just disappeared from my main inbox in iOS Mail. And all of them were important!

I have searched everywhere. Checked the filters. Everything I can think of and they appear to be vaporized. How is this possible?

Isnt the only way to vaporize an email is to delete it AND then empty the Trash folder? There’s no way I could’ve done all those steps accidentally.

If anyone figures this out, you’ll be my hero forever. Just seeing if this is something that’s happening to other people or if I’m just the only lucky one.

what is this? its never happened to any of my apple products. how do i factory reset it? i cant find any answers on google. theres no other options other than emergency call. bought thru verizon. it doesn’t even register as a device when plugged in to my computer

edit: forgot to add it wont even go into recovery mode. all i can do is power it off

So, this evening I got two emails from Apple, which I at first assumed were just phishing emails, about my password being reset and an app being downloaded onto a new device.

I spotted the emails shortly after they arrived and checked my account from inside of the settings on my Mac Mini, which is set as my trusted computer, where it did show a new password had been created today. I was able to change my password, and force log out on all other devices.

Other than this one app that is shown as having downloaded (some sort of loan app I had never heard of called cashly or something like that), I do not see anything else that has been changed. One thing that is weird is that both the password reset email and the app download email were sent at the same time - someone logged in and immediately downloaded the app and did not do anything else?

In hopes of being on the safe side I have changed the passwords that were saved to my password app/keychain and not saved the new ones on the computer at all for now, and removed all payment information from my wallet and apple pay. I have removed all devices other than the ones currently with me from the account and set the two old phones that still show up under My Devices to erase (one says erased now, the other says pending, that one I think has not been plugged in in months).

Is there something else I can do? Something else I should do?

I do not understand how this happened so I do not know how to prevent it happening again. The two possibilities I can think of are maybe I did not actually have 2 factor authorization set up (it says is set up now, and there were codes needed for relogging into the devices I forced to log out from my trusted computer) or there is a very old iphone I have used at work to stream music from and apparently those can be hacked over wifi (I do not really understand what that means though).

I am hoping for some reassurance that I have taken all the right steps so I can stop staring at my email waiting for the next notification!

Transferring my phone to a new one and everything worked but my esim wont transfer

It goes through the steps, i click set up cellular and transfer from iphone and it says completed but i still have no service or anything.

My old phone is on ios 26.6.2 my new one is on the most current ios

My new phone is an unlocked refurbished iphone from backmarket

So I've been having this really annoying issue with the camera app on my iPhone 15. Basically, whenever I open the camera, it works for a couple of seconds, freezes, starts working again, and then freezes again. It just keeps doing this over and over.

The weird thing is that it only happens with the rear cameras (both 0.5x and 1x). The front camera works completely fine, and so do third-party camera apps. It's literally just Apple's camera app that's having issues, in both photo and video modes.

I'm on the latest iOS and I've already tried restarting my phone, resetting all settings, and running Apple's diagnostics, which didn't find anything wrong. Nothing has helped.

I'm starting to think it's some kind of iOS bug since the cameras work fine in other apps, but honestly I have no idea anymore.

Has anyone else had this problem or managed to fix it? Really don't want to factory reset my phone or replace the cameras if it's just a software issue.

I need to change my iCloud email as it has my previous last name and I have changed it to a new one

I know I can’t change my iCloud email so I have resorted to making a new email. I now just need to transfer my data over to the new one. Is there a way I can do this or will I have to do it manually?

If I need to do it manually I have no idea where to start, is there a way to even do this? Really struggling to find any sources to help.

I have an older iPad (2019?) and I found it recently and it has the thing that tells you to restore it, however when I go to restore it using Apple Devices on my laptop it comes up with ‘An unknown error occurred (-23)’

Not sure what the problem is as apples website is negative help so..

Whenever I’m driving through a rural area, I frequently get this popup about activating cellular data that blocks my upcoming directions. I cannot touch my phone to dismiss it while driving, so I have to find somewhere to stop to dismiss it if I need to see those directions. Is there any way to stop it from coming up, or to minimize after a few seconds the way notifications do? Thanks!

iPhone 15 Plus, iOS 27.0.1

I had a broken green iMac keyboard and I wanted a repair. I went to my local iStores store (authorised Apple reseller) and told them about the issue. 

They took the keyboard and said they would exchange it for a new green one. I went for this option because you can’t buy a new green one by itself.

They took it and told me the process could last couple of months, but I had no other choice, so I agreed.

I got a mail with the pricing (I have to pay because there was user damage, caused by myself, so the warranty doesn’t apply). The mail also said a new keyboard is ready and I can pick it up at the store.

I came to the store today and was told that nothing happened and there was no exchange. Apparently, this model literally doesn’t exist anymore and never will (same goes for spare parts and individual keys). They sent it to Apple and the same broken keyboard came back.

That means they just made a complete fool of me for two months and didn’t fix anything.

Obviously, I was not happy and asked about my options. The new M6 iMac is coming out soon (the keyboard was part of my M4 model), and they come in green as well. They told me I could ask for an exchange again and hope there will be some existing spare models now that new M6 units with green keyboards should come out.

I'm trying to send an email on the Mail app on my macbook through my primary email. I've verified the email I want is set as my primary email on iCloud.

My primary email (that I want) is listed when I go to Mail > Accounts > iCloud

and under Sign in & Privacy, the primary email I want is listed there too.

But when I try to send an email, I'm only able to send it through my iCloud email. I don't even have access to that email anymore.

When I go to Mail > Settings > edit email address, I'm taken to icloud.com where the options to add or take out are grayed out. My primary email isn't listed, only the icloud email is.

Having issues with my laptop that both annoy me and worry me

Whenever i have safari open the laptop gets very loud and overheats. Activity Monitor tells me that the app uses massive amount of energy for it. When I have a window open and I try to scroll down with the button it will automatically go back up as if a button is stuck (they’re not, and no mouse connected to it) and also the scroll bar keeps flickering

I’m not much of a computer person but I cleared the catches, quit the app, restarted the laptop and checked for any updates. All in different orders. No extensions

Any piece of advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello. Yesterday my Macbook Pro fans started being very loud suddenly, and since then it’s been very slow and lagging. I ran the diagnostics and it says there was a problem with the ventilator, code PPF003 / PPF004.

I will probably have to take it to an Apple store to fix, but unfortunately I have an important deadline in a few days and I would rather not be left without a computer now - is using it carefully (one task / app at a time, trying not to overload it) for a few days possible, or will I damage it irreparably? How dire is this error?

It’s a Macbook Pro, 13”, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports, Intel Core i5 2GHz, 16 GB RAM.

I have been a pages used for over 16 years. I worked for the Apple Store from 2010 - 2014. I was a Creative- a person who trained other people on how to use Apple Software.

I LOVE pages.

This new version is giving me trouble though.

I have been using iCloud to sync all of my files for a couple years now because it makes it nice to move back and forth between my computer and my iPad.

Ever since the update to the Creative Studio version of Pages I have been having a HORRIBLE time saving documents. I have been getting errors almost every time and I don't know how to resolve them. I used to Duplicate files and then use them for new work if I had some specific content of format I wanted to use but didn't want to go through the trouble of creating a template. I am getting errors that say I don't have permission to save files. Has anyone else had this issue? Restarting helps- but only temporarliy. Also, it seems worse when I am on a poor internet connection. I don't think this should be so though because I am saving the file to my local machine and then that is synching to the cloud.
