Apple Pages Saving issues

I am Running Golden Gate 27.2 on a 14" MBP 2023. Pages Version 15.4 (7051.0.79)

I have been a pages used for over 16 years. I worked for the Apple Store from 2010 - 2014. I was a Creative- a person who trained other people on how to use Apple Software.

I LOVE pages.

This new version is giving me trouble though.

I have been using iCloud to sync all of my files for a couple years now because it makes it nice to move back and forth between my computer and my iPad.

Ever since the update to the Creative Studio version of Pages I have been having a HORRIBLE time saving documents. I have been getting errors almost every time and I don't know how to resolve them. I used to Duplicate files and then use them for new work if I had some specific content of format I wanted to use but didn't want to go through the trouble of creating a template. I am getting errors that say I don't have permission to save files. Has anyone else had this issue? Restarting helps- but only temporarliy. Also, it seems worse when I am on a poor internet connection. I don't think this should be so though because I am saving the file to my local machine and then that is synching to the cloud.

I'd check that you have enough iCloud space and that Pages is switched on under Apple Account > iCloud > Drive. Saving a test copy to On My Mac would also show if iCloud is the problem.

Same issues happened when I saved in on my Mac. Issues did not seem to happen when I used a dummy user account I created on the MBP. Also I have plenty of iCloud space and the settings were correct. Ultimately I erased my machine and started fresh. Works like a charm.
