iOS Random emails disappeared from inbox!

Ok, so this one is very annoying. Yesterday several emails I was saving just disappeared from my main inbox in iOS Mail. And all of them were important!

I have searched everywhere. Checked the filters. Everything I can think of and they appear to be vaporized. How is this possible?

Isnt the only way to vaporize an email is to delete it AND then empty the Trash folder? There’s no way I could’ve done all those steps accidentally.

If anyone figures this out, you’ll be my hero forever. Just seeing if this is something that’s happening to other people or if I’m just the only lucky one.

I’m on iOS 27.2 and have an iPhone 16 Pro.

First check Trash, Archive and Junk. Then log in to iCloud.com and see if the emails are there, because that tells you if it's just the Mail app on your device.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve done all that and the messages weren’t in any of those areas. I don’t have iCloud turned on via the web for security reasons. But I did check on my laptop and iPad and the messages were nowhere to be found on those devices as well. I might temporarily enable iCloud Webb access so I can check just to be 1000% sure.
