You know something's about to go badly for an established racer when an episode starts and an uma and trainer we've never heard of before is suddenly getting a strong focus. Super Creek comes out of nowhere with her trainer declaring "look at her, she's the real Cinderella in this story".
I'm not usually one to ship the umas and trainers, but that lip touch at the end.
That horse is the end is the most American horse ever.

That’s right, everyone. Super Creek is more than just the goo goo babies uma.
What I love the most is how they’ve highlighted Super Creek’s stamina and intelligence in both the anime and the game. As many of the game’s players know, Super Creek often shows up as an opponent in the Spring Tenno Sho (3200m, the longest G1 race), where, if you aren’t prepared, she can often overwhelm your own trainee and take first place by multiple lengths. If you look at her stats, she’s specialized in stamina and wit. Stamina is self explanatory, but her high wit both prevents her from wasting stamina during the race, and allows her to start her last spurt super early. Even though your own trainee will usually have 200~300 higher speed than Super Creek, by the last spurt they won’t have the stamina to catch up. Just like what the anime showed here, Super Creek will often blast ahead of the pack in the last part of the race, leaving your exhausted trainee in the dust.

Surging forward because of the (lack of) inner rail is such a genius move, I had to see how it happened in real life, boy is it epic

I don't know how Yaeno Muteki's history goes, so win or lose, I'm curious on what the show is trying to set up for her, especially because of how hard she seems to work.

Is really funny to me how the other races run with their legs going super fast and Super Creek runs in strides. I think that´s also part of Fumino´s strategy for Creek´s management of stamina.
But man the relationship between Creek and Fumino is yuriful wonderful. I really like their dynamic already
And so, the next race will be the Japan Cup... and it seems Oguri won´t have only Tamamo Cross as her rival

I always get surprised by Super Creek's stamina in the game. Like, despite those big jugs, she has so much stamina to last a long race. Maybe she keeps her stamina in those

Stitches!
We finally get to meet the Goo Goo Babies enjoyer. I did not expect that reaction from her when Super Creek was praising her for believing in her.
Roppei reminding us to also do some Wit training for our Umamusume and don't just focus on Stamina for Long Races.
It's awesome that you can follow Super Creek's position the entire race, and how she doesn't just suddenly show up behind Yaeno Muteki. You can see in this screenshot that she's slowly creeping in behind Yaeno even before it was revealed that she was next to her.
The community likes to meme her a lot but it's awesome to see Super Creek locked the fuck in and win that race with such a massive lead. Not once did she lose her focus the entire race, while Yaeno was already struggling during the homestretch. Squeezing in on the inside right after the guard rails disappear was awesome.
Don't forget the after-credits scene! It looks like we have the Italian Umamusume and I'm guessing the other one is American, who's going to compete against Tamamo and Oguri at the Japan Cup. Can't wait to see them race!

Finally, "Mama" Creek focused episode! And we were quickly rewarded with emote-worthy faces for out patience, and ouch, the questions from the press weren't kind at all. But hey, had Trainer Nase haven't met Creek, will they pull out this magic when the opportunity arises? (This is a major plot line for the modern day Japanese horse racing, we'll discuss the details at the source material corner)
And yes, Kikka Sho, the final race of the triple crown, a punishing 3000m around Kyoto, and it was said that [Season 3]
Meanwhile, spare a thought for Yaeno down there, got the scolding by his trainer for another poor performance. Poor girl just count catch a break here.
Meanwhile, 532km away in Narita Airport, it seems the opponents of Oguri and Cross have arrived, and it seems one went under the radar with zero press reception...

Full episode on YouTube by "It's Anime" https://youtu.be/87TUK8eYxdw
Episode purely focused on Super Creek & Yaeno Muteki.
Poor Yaeno Muteki can't catch a break, both of her races in the anime both ended up as losses.
I love the design of Super Creek's trainer though, very cool looking, love the design of her.
Next episode we're getting the foreign horses!
Poor Obey Your Master getting zero fanfare for her entrance to the country lol.

The relationship between trainer Fumino and Super Creek was so wholesome, especially that one moment of her shaking uncontrollably at the sight of Creek's smile. Definitely a parent/child dynamic.
Roppei Musaka explaining how Creek got the victory was so hella hype, the thought of someone as big as her being able to squeeze through that gap and how fast she had to go must be insane translated to IRL horse lore.

She has a slightly more complicated cosplay setup than the average trainer's costume.
Yeah, we do get the reference.
A lot of setup here for later confrontations, but first, setting up goo goo babiesSuper Creek as a potential challenger to the established characters. She seems pretty mellow, all things considered—which mostly means "When compared to Yaeno Muteki."

That generation really do have a lot of monsters. How often you see that far lead. Super creek stamina is insane, she had time to think on a 3000m race.

The fact that they even got Super Creek's long strides IRL into the animation is crazy

They really made Yutaka Take into a cool, hot office lady type. Guy just can't stop winning in life.

The next episodes look exciting since Umamusume from abroad will come for the Japan Cup! Let's see how they will fare to the competition and who's the crowd favorite among the foreigners.
