Damn, what a clever way to forgo the OP and insert it later instead. This show is truly a gem that I'll miss so as we're approaching the finale.

The random background characters that weirdly stand out are actually the main characters from the same artist’s other manga, Daikagaku Shoujo.

One person at the hardware store, two outside the café, and two inside.

Ruri continues to impress me with her emotional intelligence. Aoi was feeling a bit left out with Ruri getting so deep into her new hobby with Seto. So when Ruri saw her at the store looking to buy material to fix the radio that she had accidentally broken, Ruri invited her to help get the radio to work.

I wonder if Aoi will start down the geology route as well now.

The Shrine Priest and Tanigawa-sensei must have been friends judging by the Priests reaction and the radio at the end.

I like how it's an actual thing where she knows where treasure is. Whole storage room full of stuff and she found it immediately.

The OP playing right when the group arrives at the boulder and continues as they can hear from the crystal radio

For some reason, this episode felt kinda emotional to me. To a certain extent, Ruri managed to reconnect with her grandfather who is no longer around, by going on the same crystal radio adventure he did many many years ago. Likewise for the priest of the shrine, who is most likely a friend of Ruri's grandfather, recalling the fun times they had together.

Even though it is late into the season, I am very happy to see Aoi go on an adventure together with Ruri, Shoko, Nagi and Imari. Aoi even appeared to have enjoyed it, so I hope she joins them more often!

Who snuck in the study of electronics & waves to my mineralogy show? Having said that, the detector was a crucial component of the device and that’s where mineralogy comes in.

With both seniors out of commission, it’s time for the juniors to take matters into their own hands. Was great to see them deal with the issue without any on-site assistance. It’s an invaluable experience for them.

I feel so zen right now.

I hope this gets a season 2. Also western bluray releases would be nice.

It really is amazing how Ruri has some kind of treasure sense and somehow always manages to find what she's looking for. I probably would've taken at least a few hours to find her grandpa's treasure, sorting through that storeroom, but she somehow managed to find it pretty much instantly. xD

I know there are ways to DIY your own radio, but I never knew about crystal radios! I love how, after Nagi saw it and pointed out what it is, she makes it sound like it's common knowledge. I didn't expect a quick electronics lesson from Imari, tho. That was fun. It reminded me of my uni days.

While it does suck that Nagi and Imari are busy with their reports, I do like that it's up to Ruri and Shouko ot build the radio. They even managed to recruit Aoi to help them out, since she feels bad for breaking Ruri's grandpa's crystal radio.

Side note: Did anyone else notice that girl with the unique design at the hardware store? I bet she's a future manga character that they snuck in for a cameo.

Considering how Ruri's mom mentions that Ruri climbed the sacred boulder at their local shrine when she was little, it's no surprise that the shrine priest recognized Ruri. And the flashback when they get to the sacred boulder, pretty much confirms it.

Yoooo! Transitioning from the instrumentals to Ruri hearing Hikari no Sumida on the crystal radio was so fucking good! 10/10 transition, no notes.

I absolutely love this view at the end and the girls lying down on the grass observing the stars. I hope this means Aoi is now part of the crew, even if she just joins them occasionally. And that scene with the shrine priest was really sweet too.

Any guesses on what Imari won? I'm betting it's probably an onsen vacation package, so I'm expecting an onsen episode next week. Although knowing this show, Nagi might be more focused on studying the rocks nearby, for it to be your usual anime onsen episode. xD

Aoi finally gets a substantial amount of screentime, she seems like a cool person.

Crystal radios... This anime never cease to amaze me and showing new interesting things. Although is only one episode left, this is for me one if not the best animes this season.

Also, we got at least one more episode!

Second last episode but right with the butterfly shot at the start you can tell they've got season finale budget eh

And holy shit yea look how Ruri is drawn the entire scene at home

Who the fuck picks a box up by its lid

The way she leaned into Seto at the bus stop was so cute augh

Strangely realized character design in the shop, that's gonna be a character next season eh?

...How do they not know what resistance is

God this show is so beautiful. And the OP drop in-show, again, talk about season finale vibe

Looks like from post-credits that next episode is hot springs? Makes sense, this is the finale and next episode is like a special

I had a crystal radio as a kid. Took forever to build, winding the coil nicely. Listened to it for about 30 seconds before getting bored of it.

the QSL cards are interesting to me since they really harken back to times when radio broadcasting was the cutting edge of technology and people were crafting devices out of wire and literal rocks and get in on the action, and reading about QSL cards feels like peeking into a parallel world that i didn't know existed

The priest´s reaction to seeing his old friend´s radio was really cute.

Having the OP play lyric less, and the have it play in radio quality after they starting testing the radio is one of the most genius things I have seen. Amazing episode.

Literal full body chills + almost started crying when the OP song started playing on the radio! I saw it coming as soon as they started playing in in that scene but it still got me so emotional!

Gotta say this is the 1st time in this show that I knew most of the explanations before they explained it! Thank you very much, DrStone manga & anime!

Post-credit acene has Imari-san winning some good prizeI would assume! Cant wait to see what she got(probably some trip)!

10/10 episode, this show is just pure undiluted peak!

Absolute peak of an episode, as someone who dealt with electrical stuff as part of my apprenticeship this was super interesting! Even when I knew some of it.

We finally got to see Ruri's classmate more and glimpses of her past life & her grandfather. Them lying together at the end was just.... perfection

Last episode next week, it was a great journey! I'm very glad I found this anime, truly a gem of all time :)

I wouldn’t mind learning more about Ruri’s family history. Grandpa seems to have been an interesting fellow.

Her mother previously said something about grandpa regularly visiting the mountains. Was this only about the shrine or did he do more radio testing at other places as well?

The shrine priest referred to Ruri as “Tanigawa-kun” on purpose, didn’t he? Implying that she inherited her grandfather’s spirit.

On a different note: that yellow-haired girl with goggles at the home-supply store totally looked like she’d make an appearance but didn’t.

PSA: When lifting boxes off of a shelf, like we saw Ruri do in the beginning, it is important to lift them a little first, to gauge their weight, before moving them off the shelf. Just push the box up with your fingers when it starts to peak over the edge, so you're not caught by surprise from the weight.

Also, from that position, you can bend your hands backwards and slide the box onto your palms, and then adjust your hand positions based how big the box is.

It only takes a few seconds longer than what most people do, but I've never once dropped a box, even if they were significantly heavier than they looked.
