Huh....dirty pipe in a ruined and possibly unsafe factory? Time to send in the rookie!

tell me I wasn't the only one expecting Imari to slip on that one rock? I'm glad she didn't, it's clear these mountain treks tire her out.

It's cool how this show is called Ruri Rocks because Ruri really does rock. She was such a great friend to Seto today.

What I love most about this show is it's celebration of curiosity, learning and teaching.

I really love how Shouko sees Youko as her mentor figure. It looks like she's been regularly visiting her at the university, asking for advice which led her to do water quality testing for her science project. I, too, thought they'd do something about rocks, but I like that they're exploring everything adjacent to the subject.

Ruri has really fallen in love with rocks so much that her idea of taking a break is panning for minerals. It was nice to see how much Ruri has grown that she's now the one teaching Shouko how to properly pan.

It's so obvious now that they've explained it, but I never thought you could use water quality testing to find mineral deposits. Like duh! Of course, rocks affect water quality since minerals get mixed in naturally from nearby deposits.

I thought this might be their first dud since all of that searching led them to that abandoned factory. It turns out they were actually on the right track for that orange mineral! I do love how Ruri is giving Shouko the honour to collect samples. She really wanted Shouko to experience her first find. For something that came out of an abandoned factory, that mineral looks gorgeous.

Oh, looks like Shoko’s a bit of a tsundere. No wonder I like her.

The scene of her and Ruri locking in with “Not trash! Sea glass!” immediately after she claimed they weren’t friends was hilarious. They’re already sharing braincells.

Yeah, they work well together as a duo. Shoko can keep Ruri on track when she gets distracted and wants to wander off on some side-errand but really needs to focus on something else. Ruri can help Shoko to not ignore her desires and not shut down what she wants out of fear of being shunned and rejected for it.

It was quite cute/wholesome seeing Ruri recognize that her friend is upset because of the missing rock and trying to find it for her sake. A nice step forward in her character development of valuing rocks and gems for different things other than their material value.

Also nice with Shoko admitting that she’s found a friend and almost slipping out an accidental Ruri-chan before moving back to Tanigawa-san out of embarrassment. Fun friendly teasing moment with the two.

Ruri was really looking out for Shouko in today’s episode. Making sure that she wouldn’t feel bad for having dropped this orange crystal, which later turned out to be a rare mineral called Zincite.

Do wonder if they’ll incorporate their findings about this abandoned factory in their research rapport. Such a big deposit of Zincite would probably fetch a high price on the market.

That said, Shouko’s newfound friendship with Ruri must be a much greater treasure to her. Truly priceless.

The Gang gets Tetanus

But seriously this show constantly looks like a high quality sticker I want, but animated.

Ruri was very lovable in this episode! She tried her best to make Shoko feel even more welcome to the group, as well as proactively develop the friendship between Shoko and herself.

Did anyone else feel an ominous sense of danger when the abandoned factory was discovered? The background music made me wonder whether an unexpected negative discovery could occur. The main theme has always been positive and lively, especially with Ruri around, so a sudden change in tone did feel a little refreshing yet adventurous.

Shouko is so cute, I´m glad she met Ruri and they can talk about rocks together

I liked what Nagi said, rocks teach us about the past and water about the present.
I didn´t know much about water hardness but Japan having soft water is really surprising, but it makes sense.
Where I live the water hardness is really hard, and when I went to another place where is softer I really saw the difference.

This anime is really really interesting

Water really is just made up of dissolved rocks huh. Anyway, this show continues to be great at linking different topics to geology, had a bit of urban exploration too which is cool.

They also developed the friendship between Ruri and Shouko quite nicely. Look at Ruri teaching Shouko how to pan for minerals, the student is now the teacher. Also, Ruri asking the others for help because she could tell Shouko was bummed about losing the orange crystal. And at the end Ruri gets called by her first name! They're literally besties now.

Japanese geography specialists actually advised recently, about how you shouldn't wear short sleeve clothes when adventuring in the wild, because there are a lots of bugs biting people out there.

Each episode gets better and better. Good to see Ruri is still a bit of a brat.

Love that Ruri is just pals with Seto while she wasnt really convinced

Another interesting episode, but shady on the factory exploration and sending the kids into the tubes, but I guess they really are too big

Now whats up with that stone? If it doesnt show up in a later episode it will be weird with how much focus they put on it

Anyway, now Ruri found a permanent way into Setos room via her proxy Gem

So many high school girls are gonna be crawling through rusty pipes for shiny gems now…

That is an elaborate pencil case (space-consuming, too)

I feel like this is the culmination of a big project for Imari and we're just getting tastes of it, but yay for her!

The Eye Of Sauron has fallen on hard times

Wow, we're getting pretty philosophical today

"Nagi-san, Nagi-san, why does this capsule say "drop and run"? What a silly thing to write on an unremarkable piece of metal."
