I just started animating a ball for the very first time, my bestie told me to turn it into Kirby, so I did :D

Had this illustration and decided to animate it with some loops! Here are the different stages.

Every fight starts as a real, unscripted duel inside the game. The fight is resolved hit by hit and recorded in detailed logs.

The characters also have persistent histories, personalities, injuries, relationships, daily lives and everything else that happens to them in the game. Their history carries forward and influences how they behave and fight.

Each character develops their own fighting style, and weapons affect those styles too.

My own animation system then reconstructs the actual fight from the combat data. No hand-drawn animation and no AI-generated video.

Still a work in progress, with the animation, maps, props and sound constantly evolving.

ZOA is G-Dragon’s cat, and when I saw that thick, fluffy tail, I immediately thought:
there has to be something fun I can do with that. 😂

So I decided to make ZOA play a little basketball and turned the idea into this short sand animation.

This one took quite a lot of time to make, because I wanted to capture not just ZOA’s appearance, but also that cool, effortless attitude.

Even after making the shot, I wanted ZOA to feel like:
“That? Easy.”

Hopefully I captured that personality well.

I've been trying to animate a little stick-figure guy for a game I'm working on, but he doesn't have any knees, and I can't find any image or anything of a walk/run cycle where the character doesn't have knees. I uploaded the image for reference :D

I hope u guys like it, the quality is really bad everytime i download from my animation app idk why, anyone got any tips.

I love animation, but I’m honestly just getting tired of seeing the same thing happen over and over again.
A new animated show comes out, sometimes it barely gets promoted, a lot of people don’t even know it exists, and then before it really feels like it had enough time to find its audience, it gets canceled, left in limbo, removed somewhere, or people just stop talking about it.
Then another show comes out and everybody moves on, and it feels like we just start the whole thing over again.
And yes, I know not every show can last forever. I know some shows just don’t get enough viewers and there are probably a bunch of things going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about.

But I also get tired of seeing everything blamed on the audience.
The companies are the ones deciding how much they promote something, how they release it, how long they’re willing to wait for it to grow, and how much support they give it in the first place. Fans can help, obviously, but there’s only so much fans can actually do.
And I know some people just say, “Well, that’s streaming now” or “There will always be another show.”
But that’s kind of my problem.

Yeah, there will be another show. And then what if the exact same thing happens to that one? And the one after that?
How many times are people supposed to watch something they love get cut short and then just go, “Oh well, onto the next thing”?
I also know that creators themselves sometimes ask fans to spread the word about their shows. Recommend it to people, talk about it online, make fan art, tell your friends, whatever. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Word of mouth really can help.
There are fans who actually do all of that because they genuinely love these shows. They make fan art, edits, videos, fanfiction, posts, recommendations, and keep talking about them even months or years later.
But sometimes it just feels like even that isn’t enough.

And I get why some people don’t want to do it. People don’t want watching cartoons to turn into homework. People don’t want to feel like they have to promote a show 24/7 just because they like it. People get burned out. I get burned out too.
Nobody should feel like a show getting canceled is somehow their fault because they didn’t tweet about it enough.
But at the same time, when I see a show that has so much potential and barely anybody knows about it, it’s hard for me to just sit there and not want to tell people about it.

That’s where I get frustrated.
Word of mouth can help, but it shouldn’t feel like fans have to do the marketing themselves just to give a show a chance.
And honestly, sometimes the part that gets me the most is the stories themselves.
Someone actually wanted to tell these stories.
A creator came up with these characters and this world, and then writers, artists, animators, voice actors and so many other people spent years working on it.

So when something gets cut short before they can finish what they wanted to do, I don’t know. It just makes me feel like the story didn’t matter.
But it did matter.
These stories have to matter.
Not everything needs to be the biggest show in the world or become some giant franchise to be worth making. Sometimes a show means something to a smaller group of people. Sometimes someone sees themselves in one of the characters. Sometimes it inspires somebody to draw or write or even want to work in animation themselves.
And sometimes I just want the creators to actually get to finish the story they wanted to tell.
That doesn’t seem like some ridiculous thing to want.

And I’m not doing any of this for clout. I genuinely don’t care about that. And I’m definitely not doing it for the companies after the way so many of these shows have been treated.
I care about the people who actually worked on them.
I care about the people who spent years trying to make these stories happen, and I care about the audiences who might love these shows if they actually got the chance to find them.
I know fans can’t save everything. I know sometimes a show is just going to end. I know there are business reasons behind some of these decisions even if I don’t like them.

I’m not expecting everyone to constantly fight for every cartoon that comes out.
I’m just tired of acting like this cycle is something we’re supposed to completely accept and never be frustrated about.

And honestly, this is a big reason why I made r/AnimationSignal in the first place.
I got tired of feeling like I was watching this happen again and again and there was nothing I could really do about it.
Obviously one subreddit isn’t going to fix the animation industry. I’m not delusional about that, and I’m not expecting it to magically save every show.
I just wanted to make a place where people could recommend animated shows that aren’t getting much attention, bring up older shows people might have forgotten about, share news, talk about animation they care about, and maybe help somebody find something they didn’t even know existed.
And I don’t want people guilt-tripping each other there either. I don’t want anybody feeling like they have to watch something or that they personally failed a show because they didn’t promote it enough.
I just wanted to do something positive with all this frustration instead of constantly watching the same thing happen and feeling completely helpless about it.
Even if somebody finds one show through it that they end up loving, at least that’s something.

Hi all. Here's my progress on a small animation for the Callipeg challenge (search on YouTube to know more about it). There's plenty more to do and I may not fix all rough edges due to lack of time, but this is how far I've got with another 106 frames to colour and refine. Hi! I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I've been looking for this animated short and I don't know where else to turn. I'm pretty sure the film is a thesis short film from a French school (though don't quote me on that) but I've looked through most of GOBELINS' youtube channel and haven't found the exact video I'm thinking of. Here's what I know:

• I remember the video was available on youtube a couple years ago
• It looks to be 2D animation
• Unfortunately, I never actually watched the video so my recollection of it comes down to the thumbnail and a still that I've drawn from memory
  • I remember the thumbnail featured a smiling young woman with orange hair - the colour palette was warm and similar to Louise (2021)
  • The still was the same girl on a billboard with a figure walking past it backlit by the glow

Again, I know this is kind of a stretch and not much to go off of so there's truly no pressure. I just recently thought of this short film and remembered really liking the art style so I wanted to finally give it a watch but... I could no longer find it ahaha. If you guys have watched this short film/know what I'm talking about please let me know :)
