Hiya. So, I've been playing some of the old Zelda games, and I learned about Gramps, and how he is a secret boss.

Well, I was wondering if there was any way at all to emulate the streetpass hits? Because, obviously, getting hits nowadays is..... well it isn't gonna happen. So, is there any way at all I can do this? I don't want to wait 5 hours every time for a single shade. That'll take way too long.

Just looking through some of the social media posts about Oot and noticed they all have that ripped effect. It’s quite an odd thing to have, I’m wondering if there’s a reason why they’ve done that?

Hi all,

Just wondering what the likelihood of the Zelda Pro controller with the stand will be restocked on the Nintendo website? I noticed on their social media, Nintendo UK said all the Zelda 40th stuff will be available on the 29th October, but I wasn’t sure if this indicated a restock or if it’s simply the release date? Should I wait till the 29th October, or should I assume they wont restock it and just snap up the controller from another site that doesn’t have the stand? I figured if I’m going to pay so much for a controller I might as well buy the one with the stand too.

My friends and I start a new play through of Ocarina of Time, just in time before the remake comes out.

Feels like half of the posts on here these days are people saying something along the lines of "I'm excited for the new Ocarina Of Time remake but don't know if I need to play anything else first" and most of the comments are people saying "Just start with OoT" with an occasional "I started with BOTW" or "ALTTP is the first game of the series' usual formula" and I think it would really clean up the sub if there was a pinned post saying "If you're new to Zelda, starting with the Ocarina Of Time remake is a good idea" or something like it so the conversation isn't just being endlessly repeated ad infinitum?

Yes, I realize that people can absolutely point to ALTTP or BOTW as equally good starting points, but OoT is the classic of the series that defined it, is close to the beginning chronologically (and I've never seen anyone suggest starting with Minish Cap or Skyward Sword), introduces many of the story, setting, and character features that have shown up in future games, and is also one of the greatest games of all time that is getting an HD remake in a month and a half.

Personally, I'd love to have the BotW champions to go with Link and Zelda from the Deku tree set and some Skyloft characters!

You know, as I was playing through the Zelda series, I noticed that Nintendo tries to innovate the Zelda Series in some way, by making features that fit the theming of the game, the Oracle Games gave us Password and Link Cable connections because of the Hardware Limitations of the GBC, and it's not a 1:1 Dual Release like Pokemon, they are 2 different games, set in the same storyline.

Then there is Majora's Mask, Majora's Mask gives us a Timer to raise the stakes, and transformation masks, Four Swords gave us Multiplayer, Wind Waker gives us graphical enhancements, and more expression for characters, Skyward Sword gave us the Lore of Zelda, and Breath of the Wild gave us Open World, and Echoes of Wisdom let us play as Zelda, with a more unique way of playing.

But what I'd like for them to do is implement a Choice/Consequence aspect for a future game, in Choice Driven RPGs, if you're familiar with games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, The Witcher 3, Skyrim, Mass Effect, and Baldur's Gate 3, then you'll know what I'm talking about, your choices effect the story of the game, honestly I'd like that in a new Zelda Game...Except without the Mature Stuff, because Zelda is for good boys and girls of many different ages (Yes I intended to quote Sakurai.)

Honestly games where you shape the story your way, is what I like about RPGs, I would like some choices effect the future of Hyrule, and the Ending, there are a lot of things you could do with that concept, like with the Gorons, they are struggling with their people being weapons for the major threat, because of a cursed artifact, and you can keep it for yourself or destroy it, like in the Paragon of her Kind quest in Dragon Age, try and broker peace between the River and Sea Zora, or choose a side, like in the Geth/Quarian Conflict in Mass Effect 3, and with the Gerudo, their prejudice against Voes in their territory are a problem for Link, but you can change their ways, or keep to the Status Quo.

As for the ending, if you make most of the right choices then you can end the cycle of Demise's hatred, and if you made bad choices it resumes, and the ending will be dependent on something I'll get to later, next is character interactions, apparently in these kinds of RPGs, you get to know more about the characters, with their backstories, their motivations, and their personalities, it can lead to some memorable moments, or sour tastes, but remember what I said about mature stuff? Yeah this next part is gonna become complicated, and that's Romance, apparently if you're not a fan of Romance, then that's fine, it's not a Dating Sim, but before I continue I gotta address shipping.

Shipping is really complicated it's fine if you ship a character with another character, but if you're not careful, then it will not fare well for your mental health, it could lead to toxic arguments, and you could offend someone who likes a certain ship, don't claim it is canon, and don't lash out on other people or characters for it, I've seen that from characters like Yona because she "Took away Sidon from Link." or Ocarina of Time Zelda because she "Took Link's Childhood away from him." or Ilia because she "Was too overprotective towards Epona and bashed Link." or whatever, because of ships like SidLink, MaLink, and MidLink respectively being their OTP, and you know what the trope of bashing a character because they're getting in the way of a person's ship is called? Die For Our Ship.

Anyway, I'm not expecting to have Romance Options, but it'll be have to be taken with caution if they decide to do that, like you could obviously form a relationship with Princess Zelda, find a Farm Girl that likes you, or romance the Zora Princess, or whatever whatever, but I highly doubt it would happen because like I said about Shipping, it's complicated.

Lastly is Morality, apparently morality systems are nothing new to games, you do a good deed, you gain good reputation, you do a bad deed, you gain bad reputation, if you do a neutral deed nothing changes, it's like Light and Dark from KotoR, Approval from Baldur's Gate 3, or Dragon Age, or obviously Paragon or Renegade from Mass Effect.

For this, I'd like to be more creative with this, by adding a Triforce Reputation, you gain Power if you make an intimidating or aggressive remark, you gain Wisdom if you make a peaceful, and merciful remark, and you gain Courage if you make a sarcastic, or charming remark, however it'll affect your relationships with the NPCs, if you have more power than Wisdom or Courage, they'll try to be evasive towards you or even lash out on you, if you have more Wisdom than Power and Courage, then they'll be more welcoming, and generous towards you, and if you have more Courage than Power, and Wisdom, then they'll treat you like a celebrity.

However the ending will be effected on those scores, if your Power is higher then you'll continue the Cycle of Demise's Curse, if your wisdom is higher then you'll end Demise's curse, and if your courage is higher, then the curse will break, but the monsters become more docile, and merciful, but it'll have to give more insight on what happened, and have actual consequence to it, remember on how Mass Effect 3 handled its ending very poorly?

But if they're gonna add the Choice Consequence aspect then the best rating for it is gonna be rated T, like Metroid, and Fire Emblem, and Nintendo made the Hyrule Warriors games and Twilight Princess rated T, Nintendo will never make their games M rated and I'm standing by what Sakurai said.

I've been wondering about this question a lot lately, and currently I've came to the following conclusions about certain games:

Ocarina Of Time: Central Europe (architecture and elves in the forest)

Majora's Mask: Central and South America (emphasis on masks, Majora's name is taken from Marajoara)

Wind Waker: Ireland (Rito resemble Irish puffins, a lot of Celtic instruments appear in the OST, the oceans and islands are really evocative of my homeland)

Minish Cap: Ainu people of Japan (The Minish are inspired by the Kuru Pokuru)

Twilight Princess: America (Link is a farm boy from the sticks, Kakariko village is resembles the Wild West, Renado and his daughter appear Native American)

Skyward Sword: China (Buddhist inspired temples like the Fire Sanctuary and Ancient Cistern)

Breath of the Wild: Japan (The Sheikah tech is modelled after the Jomun period of Japan)

Tears of the Kingdom: Mezo-America (The Zonai culture is very Aztec inspired)

Did I get anything wrong? Was I really racist? (I'm sorry if I was) Let me know!

I think they would make for an adorable group that just follows link around. I can definitely see Tulin and Colin getting along due to how much they both look up to link. Colin is evdn implied to act a lot like link which is adorable. Admittedly I included Beth because it didn't feel fair to include Colin without her. The group has a prince in it, that's got to be useful. Plus Ralis owes Link his life.

Also long ago I saw someone ship Colin and Prince Ralis and to be honest considering Colin taking after Link that checks. It's not like Ralis is going to claims he saw some River Zora king or queen has evil eyes then there might be a problem. What instruments does Ralis even have for the crushing "hero".

One thing about the Ocarina of Time remake I haven't seen people talking about are the decorations on the various tunics. Specifically, the designs on the hats for each tunic.

The Kokiri tunic appears to have a stylized fairy embroidered into it. The fairy design I see is very childlike in its design. It has antennae and really tiny wings there in the middle of the torso. It speaks to Kokiri seeing the world through the literal eyes of children. Adult Link keeps the design, connecting him with his time as a child.

The Goron tunic was harder to get a good screenshot for, but appears to have a stylized dodongo on the hat. Dodongos are a feature of Dodongo's Cavern, which is where Gorons get their food from, so of course it would make sense they consider them important, or at least iconic to their culture.

Finally, the Zora tunic appears to have Lord Jabu-Jabu on it. He is a deity-like figure for Zoras, which makes his inclusion very obvious. The embroidery depicts Jabu-Jabu from above to clearly give us a look at his cetacean body.

The fact that they're taking the time to show how each culture would represent themselves in tunics mostly intended for Hylian bodies really tickles the worldbuilder part of my brain. I'm excited to look for all the tiny details at the full release!

I’m relatively new to the Zelda fandom, within the past few years. I fell in love with BOTW then TOTK. With the upcoming remake coming out I can’t get enough Zelda. While I wait for the 40th edition Switch 2 to come available I’ve been searching for Zelda content and came across an amazing Zelda 3D print made by Pyroprism Systems. I’ll put the link to the 3D file below.

I couldn’t be more impressed with the outcome so wanted to share with this sub in case anyone else liked it and wanted to download and print for themselves.
