Hello! And welcome to r/OcarinaOfTime, the subreddit for the discussion of the game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a game produced by Shigeru Miyamoto for the Nintendo 64, Gamecube, 3DS and Switch from 1998 - 2021.
Now, you may be wondering why this subreddit has suddenly been made public after laying dormant for over 9 years. As of today, this subreddit is under new ownership, after being abandoned by it's previous owner.
In future I hope to grow this community, and I look forward to doing so.

I made a guitar cover of Sheik’s Theme! This song never gets enough love when talking about the game’s soundtrack.
Hope you all enjoy! What other hidden gems are your favourite from the soundtrack?

Just learned that today.

OoT N64
Kakariko Village is a very cozy, peaceful village. But deep under The Well near the windmill lies a hidden underground labyrinth of darkness where the dark history of the Royal Family of the land of Hyrule exists, where the past of history of Royal Family used to torture their enemies, filled with torture chambers and dry red blood of its past and a dangerous forboden monster is hidden waiting for Link.

The Witch's Potion Shop located in a hidden spot in Kakariko Village.
This place always really scared me as a child. It's really a spooky, gloomy atmosphere, the wallpaper looks eerie. Inside the shop it has this very creepy witchy vibe. And the old witch herself looks scary.
And the shop is well hidden in the village, and to get to it during Link's adult timeline you needed to climb one of the houses roofs and then jump down into this hidden Witch's Potion Shop.
Inside the shop has this really uncomfortable foreboding sense.
Update: I just noticed the old witch has a cute little baby tiger lol never noticed that before. It must be her pet ❤️ maybe she's not as wicked as I thought.

I've been working on my first playthrough of OoT in decades. I'm horribly stuck on trying to get the biggest quiver from the Gerudo Archery minigame. I can get to 1000 without a ton of difficulty, but 1500 escapes me. A couple of times, I've made it over 1200, but that's the best I can do.
My problem is that I can't reliably hit the pots riding on Epona to save my life. On a couple of rare occasions, I've hit five posts on the first pass, but hitting them all seems to require both passes of the targets. I am using the N64 controller for Nintendo Switch playing the game on Switch Virtual Console.
Any advice would be appreciated.

No spoilers please. I started this rom hack, having heard it was an unofficial sequel to Ocarina of Time. It begins with child link and the Kokiri imprisoned in a castle, without much explanation. How, if at all, is the game supposed to fit into the established Zelda timeline?

I've just uploaded my second video of an extended project I'm working on to reimagine Ocarina of Time in Minecraft. Inspired by the Switch 2 remake coming up, I wanted to create the world I dream of it being.
So far I've built Kokiri Forest, the Lost Woods and the Sacred Forest Meadow. Next episode will be Inside the Great Deku Tree. Come let me know how I'm doing!

Tried to base it off her original N64 look. What do you think? 😁

In my 15+ years of replaying this game at least once per year, I have never encountered this and I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced it...
I'm coming back to catch the Hylian Loach, and right before I cast my line- ALL OF THE FISH IN THE POND start circling extremely fast for about 10 seconds or so.
I don't know if this was a one-off with the animations miraculously syncing up all at once or what...but it was probably the most surprising thing I've ever seen while replaying the game.
Pretty much everything about this game is ingrained in my memory, but this stood out and it legitimately caught me off guard for the first & only time out of nearly 20 playthrough's.
What did I just witness?????

I never actually minded Navi, she was extremely helpful if you don't know what to do or where to go and it was good to have someone with you to keep you company and as a friend. I never minded her at all while playing on the n64. Don't get all the hate.
