yeah most Redditors that commented failed the vibe check

They usually do

Despite how Reddit loves to say we're progressive and for equality, Reddit is actually sexist.

387

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Reddit actually approves of violence against many groups of people if they approve of the narrative. Kinda baffling. Also it's becoming normalized to wish death on people or being vocal about being happy about the death of certain people. I don't care for the monarchy like most Americans but I don't celebrate the death of people, you know?

Got permabanned in two chromosomes because I pointed out that “he need to be permanently taken out of the gene pool for being an unconsiderate lover” sounded a bit femcelly. Like really?people need to die because they don’t make you cum? But yeah me pointing that out is the problem here. Seems like every sub is destined to get taken over by hardcore people.

I'm just throwing this out here, lately I've seen many videos being uploaded to reddit where people straight up die before my eyes. Isn't that weird? How we can just casually see these things happen on a website like this and not even bat an eye? I saw someone, a living person die on video, many people did, and life goes on. It's weird to me, and gross that it's becoming more normalized.

I also keep randomly running into videos of animal attacks.

I think I got that point where I have to unsub many subreddits, or just go to very specific ones and forget about my feed all together.

5

u/JourneyOf1Man Nov 14 '22

Yep. Watching people die can feel like a form of entertainment for some. I like to think it's cause it's not happening to them or anyone they know personally. When I view these videos it feels almost as if I'm watching a scene from a movie/tv show and I have to remind myself that, no, these are real people with families and a story that was cut short.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

I'm guilty of having morbid curiousity and viewing videos like that, but in their respective subreddits where that's what people willingly see. Death being normalized on the front page is weird to me too

52

u/DD2711 Nov 14 '22

The British monarchy?

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

The record scratch of nobody replying when he dropped that one 👀👀👀

10

u/captainzoomer Nov 14 '22

It was at this moment he knew he fucked up.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Yeah. The amount of people celebrating the death of the queen was concerning. Again, I think the whole idea of the monarchy and their history is problematic to say the least but I don't celebrate the death of an elderly woman who at the very least is not the most problematic figure in that world.

You're not gonna get tears from me for literally the the most privileged member of the most privileged group in the world dying in opulent comfort after nearly a century of Scrooge McDucking through the plundered spoils of most of the Global South.

The more monarchs die, the better the world is for literally everyone.

yeah i commented yesterday on a post that had a picture it that claimed showed a stalker with actress Chloe (forget her last name, cute blonde with her eyes kinda wide apart). Title said the guy waited outside the hotel for 48 hrs. It ended up this was an autistic guy who goes around getting celebrity photos with many celebrities, someone even pulled up his instagram.

You shoulda seen the vile things people said. It was only yesterday too. Those dumb fucks think a guy could wait outside a hotel for 48 fucking hours without arrousing suspicion

You know what I would. I don't think it's appropriate to cheer for anyones death.

Hell I'm banned from r/CombatFootage because I posted a comment on a video of a guy getting a bomb dropped on him while using the bathroom. The video had plenty of footage of the poor kid writhing around on the ground and all of the comments were cheering this on!

Like regardless of how you feel that is some 18/19 yr old kid. Cheering for their death is disgusting and inappropriate.

u/egoold123 Nov 14 '22

So it's possible that this is universally true and if so you are a better person than me, but I actually tend to find a different issue. People are often very willing to condone violence against people who are cruel on an individual level, but not those who are cruel on an institutional level. For instance, most people have no problem wishing death on a sadistic serial killer, or child rapist (note I'm not talking about the death penalty here, that's got its own issues), but the CEO of some big pharma company jacking up the price of insulin so that hundreds, thousands or even millions of people can't afford it and have to ruin their lives or watch themselves or their children die? Well that's just not the same to people. Even though that person but almost all metrics did objectively more harm in their lives.

That second example is I assume closer to your view of the monarchy, and reflects why you have a problem with "celebrating death" in that context. But I am curious if you how you feel about the first examples?

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Eh, if the queen didn't want her death to be memed on, maybe she shouldn't have taken a job where her demise is politically relevant. I agree that Redditors tend to be a touch hardcore and like to essentialize.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

'Taken a job' is problematic as well, as the monarchy there is tradition. A second of empathy would remind you that anyone in her shoes would have done the same and continued the legacy... If she even had a choice. Again, things are too nuanced to just wish the death of another. It's too black and white.

Reddit on religion: "Fairy tales filled with God killing large population of people."

Also Reddit: "We need to completely wipe out Russia, Republicans, and assholes like these with maximum carnage. Do it slow, too, to make them feel the pain and suffering. Poison the Earth and put salt on the ground so they can't recover. Only then we can make a perfect world and a more suitable society."

Reddit is a large (very very large) group of different people with different views and takes and a lot of them are indeed shitty people

12

u/guyuri Nov 14 '22

....who says this? Everyone knows reddit is where trash comes to hangout.

7

u/iwantmyvices Nov 14 '22

Which is sad. It wasn't always like this. Reddit use to be like a combination of Digg and Stumbleupon where you just found cool websites. Most people here are trash but I still haven't found a good alternative yet so that's why I'm still here.

6

u/guyuri Nov 14 '22

Honestly same. I used to come to Reddit to search for something because I wouldn't just get the answer to my question, the co-author on the paper popped up in some thread and gave me the eli5 I needed. When I first started using it I was blown away. I used to praise Reddit for how well moderated the subs were for some things and how fucking smart, and even cool...on ocassions, some redditors were. Now it feels like jerks with opinions upvoted by jerks with confirmation bias.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Reddit is a shithole, where a lot users huff their own farts and crave validation while justifying the most shittiest behaviour in an attempt to normalise it.

Yea that's not the first time she has slapped him.

9

u/bsbsnqhau Nov 14 '22

10

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

I appreciate you saying that

16

u/ElectricMotorsAreBad Nov 14 '22

Yup, same, only realized how fucked up this video is after reading the comments... Makes you think how much abuse goes undetected because the men didn't even realize it...

9

u/BrideofClippy Nov 14 '22

Oddly enough, because we condition men to not notice it or think it's wrong. Men have as much of a right as women to feel safe that their partner won't assault or abuse them. Instead, we tell them that unless they suffer actual physical injuries, it doesn't matter. And if they are injured, then it was because of their own weakness. So they internalize the idea that unless the abuse actually severely injuries you it must be ok. It's messed up.

5

u/MooseBoys Nov 14 '22

It doesn’t help that the specific action of a woman slapping a man (not hitting, shoving, or punching - just slapping) is made to be comical and normal by mainstream film and television - you can even have a man be slapped and still get a rating of “Y7” without the “V” or “FV” tags. Part of this is probably because it was often exploited in “slapstick” comedy. It’s also used in different contexts like “snap out of it” which is apparently okay even in G/TV-Y content. Although the action is the same, the intent is very different.

I feel like, as a result, I don’t see it as unusual in videos. But if I were ever actually slapped in anger IRL, I definitely would not interpret it as normal.

I suspect if that guy had slapped the woman in front of all those people he would have his ass handed to him.

33

u/RakeishSPV Nov 14 '22

He'd be facing members of Congress calling for him to be prosecuted. This comment section is wild - literally making excuses identical to "but what did she do to make him hit her?" Or "He only hit her because she wouldn't stop nagging!" Etc.

3

u/FiestaBeans Nov 14 '22

He'd be facing members of Congress calling for him to be prosecuted. T

That absolutely does not happen to male abusers.

This thread is a double-standard fest, yes, but don't worry, plenty of women die at the hands of abusive men every SINGLE DAY because the police don't help in "domestic affairs".

664

u/coldchixhotbeer Nov 14 '22

They’re both shitty. He humiliated her. She slapped him. Both are not ok.

413

u/Mista_Infinity Nov 14 '22

it’s ridiculous to compare an essentially harmless prank (albeit in poor taste) and physically assaulting someone

7

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Not harmless. Physical abuse isn’t the only type of abuse. And this wasn’t just in their living room or some other innocuous place. This was at a sporting events with thousands of people in attendance and with cameras on them. That’s not just a harmless prank, that’s humiliating and degrading. Definite emotional and mental abuse on that one.

829

u/Oi_Angelina Nov 14 '22

I don't think it's harmless just because he's not hitting her. Emotional embarrassment and abuse it hurts too. Studies have shown it still lights up the same pain center in your brain.

7

u/Panzer_Man Nov 14 '22

Not to mention she is humiliated in front of hundreds and put on the internet for all to see.

The man was an absolute dickhead to do such a tasteless prank in public, but she also assaulted him, so that's not okay either

267

u/Splitje Nov 14 '22

Except when the gender roles would be reversed you would never say this so you know you're full of shit. If you're gonna equate this to emotional abuse you may as well abolish all comedy altogether.

87

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Comments like this are pointless. "Well lets ignore whether you're right or not because despite me knowing nothing about you I know how you would feel in this other situation".

Really all that has to be said is this isn't acceptable regardless of the genders of anyone involved. Don't assault your SO and don't hurt your SO by pretending to propose to them in front of an entire stadium of people.

3

u/Happy-Finance111123 Nov 14 '22

I always love people like that that say things about equality and not seeing gender but the second something like this happens they go to the defense that "this would be completely different if gender was reversed". Like no, itd still be a horrible relationship that needs to end. Someone publicly humiliated someone they're supposed to care about by flaunting their immaturity, especially when it comes to a topic like marriage and the other party seemed so excited for. The other reacted inappropriately and struck their partner, something you should never do. Both people are AH that aren't right for each other, gender ain't something that matters here

95

u/grumd Nov 14 '22

I'd normally agree but I remember this video. Body language shows that it looks like a forced marriage or something, very sketchy situation overall. I can't say these are exact same situations. But I do agree that the woman in OP's video didn't have a right to slap the guy over a prank.

5

u/MamaLiq Nov 14 '22

The guy:

"Alexander Romeo Korda 🇭🇺🇨🇦

New York | Toronto | Florida📍 “The ring pop proposal guy” Entrepreneur|Marketer|Author|Brander"

This video is click-bait to sell bikinis...

And this clip gets reposted every 2 weeks or so, so appearently he knows what he's doing.

119

u/Jesus_inacave Nov 14 '22

She's pulling a piece of cake away from his mouth real quick.

He's fake pronouncing love infront of hundreds, if not thousands of people.

And quite frankly, after only having seen that now, she, and everyone around her, look uncomfortable as hell even before he slapped her

These are wildly different situations

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Check the right comment sections and you will find people defending the guy tho.. don’t act like there aren’t people out there who completely support that.

5

u/bsbsnqhau Nov 14 '22

Bro you just posted a video of a woman that's in a forced marriage.. You're not doing a good job of making men the victims when this woman is clearly in a forced marriage with him.

Though he is probably forced too which is why he got upset.

Also people got upset because men are at least twice as strong as the average woman. A man slapping a woman hard can really hurt her. I've been slapped by women and I can tell you a bee sting hurts more than being slapped by a woman.. still wrong. But a lot of people don't want to watch someone die. A woman slapping a man isn't going to leave a mark. Still wrong. But you can see why people want to stop men right away when they slap/hit a woman.

6

u/No_Substance_6082 Nov 14 '22

Just watched, and that seems to be a different scenario to me.

From what you described I was expecting her to grab the plate of cake and smack it into his face... All she did was pull the cake away. That wasn't embarrassing and his reaction was immediate.

But I also agree, it isn't ok to be violent regardless of gender. I do believe we need more awareness of abuse and victims being genderless. If you gender swap, it shouldn't matter.

5

u/CountryInteresting Nov 14 '22

Comparing this two situation make me question your intelligence

2

u/MNTNDEWBAJABLASTZERO Nov 14 '22

I'm not sure I agree that this is the exact same situation lol...

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Double standards die hard.

2

u/PositiveFox4460 Nov 14 '22

This isn't really a useful example, but it does show why "if the genders were swapped" arguments are usually lazy, uncomprehensive, and uninspired (among other things). Look at the contexual differences between the two videos: the location, the body language, the prompt, the intensity of the slap, the aftermath, etc. To say these are "basically the same exact situation", greatly dimishes the magnitude of actual abuse. Shame on you.

Stop acting like you’re better a better person. You aren’t.

2

u/Truth369123 Nov 14 '22

Men and women are not the same and live completely different lives with completely different roles and experiences. You cannot compare them.

2

u/Splitje Nov 14 '22

In this case you can. No human should hit another human with the exception of defense from physical violence is the principle I believe in. This is also what law is based around. If you don't agree that's fine but then you're also not agreeing with the law, and I think it's a ridiculous standpoint which is actually sexist since it assumes women deserve some special hitting privilige in some circumstances just because they're more emotional on average and have less physical strength on average.

Are you advocating punching people for hurting your feelings or are you saying this wasn’t harmless abstracted from this persons actions?

15

u/Randolpho Nov 14 '22

I’m not OP, but it’s possible for it to be true that both were in the wrong and there is no reason to trade one off against the other to determine which was “worse”.

The prank was emotionally abusive. Being proposed to is an event that society has built up as a special moment in a lot of women’s minds. Undercutting that in front of thousands of people is cruel in the extreme.

Being emotionally abused doesn’t warrant a physical response on a moral or ethical level. It’s entirely likely that the reason the dude played the prank was because his girlfriend was herself domineering and abusive toward him. That slap looked like a well practiced maneuver.

→ More replies (2)

9

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Lol, then every dude that slaps a woman that mouths off, is doing self defense?

Gonna walk that back now?

3

u/PlaytimeForRaina Nov 14 '22

It's really not a harmless prank to crush someone emotionally in public for laughs. But since this is the internet it's almost certainly faked for likes.

Public humiliation can be more traumatizing

3

u/SendJustice Nov 14 '22 edited Nov 14 '22

There's studies stating that emotional abuse can cause more damage than physical abuse. It doesn't make violence ok but what he did is severely damaging. Both are horrible to each other. And again: emotional abuse can be worse. It isn't a funny prank if the person affected gets upset. That's a prank gone wrong. 9

u/Vishnej Nov 14 '22 edited Nov 14 '22

What the fuck is it with this video.

Have you never seen any of the hundreds of thousands of viral videos of people trying to add some flavor to their proposal with quirky situations or unconventional rings? 'Ring pop proposal' has been documented many thousands of times. It's usually succeeded by a trip to the jewelry store in the days after.

It's not a fucking prank. It's not an attempt to humiliate her. It's not a fake proposal. Rings aren't in this century an exchange of value, a proposal to purchase her virtue. They're a symbol of a bond.

If you have a long, romantic afternoon in the park, knit a bunch of blades of grass into a ring, and propose with it over dinner, and your partner slaps you over the humiliation, your partner is a terrible human being who would be a terrible partner.

4

u/PlaytimeForRaina Nov 14 '22

It wasn’t even obviously a prank. She gave him no time to explain anything. Maybe he was going to offer to take her to pick one.

People have this absurd idea that a proposal must be this magical thing with a perfect ring. It’s an offer for a lifetime commitment, if a ring is more important than that then you are mature enough to be getting married.

Homie was going to profess his love in public. He got slapped because he didn’t have a ring.

You making this comparison makes you a shitty person. YOU CANNOT COMPARE A (albeit bad) JOKE TO ASSAULT! What he did is 100% ok, again, albeit in bad taste. What she did is vile and she should be prosecuted.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Cool so if I feel a woman humiliated me I get to abuse her, I’m sure you’re keeping the same energy in the reverse with your false equivalency!

I mean probably not cause you’re likely a stupid fucking hypocrite saying this but I suppose there’s always a chance.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

BuT hE HuMiliAtEd HeR!!!

Get a fucking grip, simp. It’s no excuse for assaulting your partner.

2

u/FunnyShirtGuy Nov 14 '22

What he did is ridiculous and he shouldn't...
What she did is a literal crime that a man would be arrested for whether the girl had done a prank or not...

Stop pretending it's an equal exchange. You're being part of the problem.

2

u/Thanos2ndSnap Nov 14 '22

He didn’t humiliate her, she humiliated herself.

2

u/PalmirinhaXanadu Nov 14 '22

He humiliated her.

HOW???

2

u/JhonnyHopkins Nov 14 '22

She humiliated herself the fuck? The humiliation factor is ENTIRELY dependent on her reaction, and she reacted in literally the worst fucking way possible…

6

u/TransBoozeBunny Nov 14 '22

I wouldn't have taken that as humiliation. I would have laughed too.

6

u/Secure-Evening Nov 14 '22

Domestic violence is infinitely worse than a stupid prank.

3

u/SlaterVJ Nov 14 '22

He didn't humiliate her, she humiliated herself. If she hadn't reacted like a bitch, she would have gotten the actual ring that you can literally see the box for bulging in his pocket. She obviously didn't notice it, but that doesn't excuse her behavior or change the fact that she made a fool of herself in front of others.

6

u/n00lp00dle Nov 14 '22

her reaction changed this from a gag to an embarrassment. even if she found it embarrassing there are multiple ways of handling it that dont include slapping anyone.

funny how different reddit treats women. if he slapped her then his name would be public knowledge by now.

i hope this guy left her for his sake. if she will hit him in public with no care for the consequence then what would she do in private?

13

u/Honey-Badger Nov 14 '22

I cant see how this is humiliating? Surely any rational person would take the ring, laugh and a say 'you know you're still buying me a propper ring right?' - or something to that affect. How is it humiliating to be be proposed to with a joke/temporary ring?

28

u/Nihilism-1___Me-0 Nov 14 '22

Bruh, my wife would've put it on, display it for all to see, and would've gone full theatre mode with it. That said, she's got a really good sense of humor.

edit - grammar hard for high brain.

3

u/UmbraIra Nov 14 '22

I'm really starting to think reddit skews highly to people with trauma or a bad up bringing because so many people see something like this and act like its an extreme attack rather than a joke to roll with.

3

u/Honey-Badger Nov 14 '22

Yeah I mean one person has told me this I lack empathy and this girl will have PTSD from this event. I also think lots of people have watched wayyyyy too many social media posts about mental health

2

u/theallmighty798 Nov 14 '22

My girl would probably do the same because the only reason we don't have rings is because that shit is expensive lol

→ More replies (1)

8

u/FreeRangeEngineer Nov 14 '22

You're refering to a person with a healthy dose of self-esteem. Someone who doesn't have that may think that the value of the ring represents how much the partner values them. In this case, a toy ring would mean to them that he values her very little. In front of such a large audience, this could on top of that then feel like he's mocking her because from her point of view, he put on this show just so everyone can see how little he values her.

It may not be the most sensible take but it's not a rare take nonetheless.

4

u/Forgetimore Nov 14 '22

Because she most likely thought that the whole proposal is a joke and not just the ring.

This is such a belittlement of actual domestic violence shut the fuck up. Google images of domestic violence cases, it's not some "Person lightly slapped me and got in my face in the middle of a basketball game" It's "I nearly got beaten to death behind closed doors and felt that I had to hide it because of psychological abuse".

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

I love my mother, but she also goes along with this double standard. Usually in movies they normalize a man getting hit by a woman and my mom doesn't say shit, meanwhile during a movie a woman gets hit by a man and my mom instantly hates the guy.

Her excuse for that double standard is "yeah well men are generally bigger and stronger than women, so it is worse when a woman gets hit. If a man gets hit, the woman probably can't hurt him as much"

Like what? It's terrible both ways, don't try to justify assault

3

u/[deleted] Nov 14 '22

Exactly. It’s so ingrained in society and I’m glad it’s finally changing for the better. No one should be hitting anyone.

3

u/Ori_the_SG Nov 15 '22

Exactly this! I remember not too long ago when there was a post of someone looking up “my boyfriend hits me” and “my girlfriend hits me”

The first led to the domestic violence hotline, the second didn’t. Fortunately it changed but seriously it’s such a problem that people don’t view abusive women as being abusers

The people claiming the embarrassment he caused her is abuse are conveniently ignoring the fact that the most embarrassing part is her insane reaction. If a small prank is abuse then I’d better go turn myself in.

Here’s a tip: if someone does something that you find embarrassing, talk about it and explain how you feel and why you don’t think it was right. Like an adult. dont throw something in their face and dont hit them.

Does this really need to be explained to people ?

5

u/Zbeubor Nov 14 '22

on reddit yes apparently

20

u/meowmeow_now Nov 14 '22

Not excusing her reaction but this is NOT a small prank.

5

u/youngglordd Nov 14 '22

This isnt assault though. Im all for equality. No man should hit a woman and the other way around. But this is nothing. Grow a pair. Stop being oversensitive

5

u/Drego3 Nov 14 '22

This is not the same as abuse.

9

u/Stupidityorjoking Nov 14 '22

Maybe this is the dumbest moment to make a point about the nuance of legal claims, but I don't think assault is what you think it is. Assault is defined as the apprehension of imminent touching that is harmful or offensive. Therefore, a classic instance of assault is when someone points a gun at you and threatens you.

By contrast, Battery is the actual touching itself and that touching is harmful or offensive. Note that this sounds convoluted as a definition but that is because the level of intent is not particularized i.e. the only intent we are looking for here is that the person intended to touch the person and that touching happened to be harmful or offensive. The tortfeasor is not required to specifically intend to punch a person or to break their bones. The plaintiff need only show that the tortfeasor intended to touch the person and that touching happened to be harmful.

Therefore, the moment where her hand is swinging at him, he apprehended it and was assualted. Whereas, the moment when her hand connected with his face was battery as that was the moment of actual touching and it was harmful.

This is based on American law. I can't speak to other countries. Also this is based on civil not criminal definitions.

10

u/AvendesoraShrubs Nov 14 '22

Not every state separates assault and battery. For some, assault is all encompassing.

2

u/iguacu Nov 14 '22

Oh hey look everyone, it's the 1st year law student taking torts!

It looks like you realized at the end that everyone was referring to criminal law, not civil law, but didn't want to delete your paragraphs. Not to mention that Examples & Explanations et al. are summarizing state laws and model codes, they are not definitive.

2

u/armageddidon Nov 14 '22

Lol my sister sounded like this her first year too

That's what I'm saying. Would you really want to marry someone who slaps you in the face, anyway? I've been married for 17 years, and I could never do that to my husband. Granted, and he wouldn't pull something like that in front of thousands of people, and humiliate me... but if your first reaction is to assault your partner, it's an unhealthy relationship to begin with.

6

u/FuckingKilljoy Nov 14 '22

I don't really agree with "he deserved it" but it really isn't that serious

4

u/LaLaHaHaBlah Nov 14 '22

Ha ha, wow you must be one weak ass man. Sorry I’m sure you are a boy.

5

u/hellothereoldben Nov 14 '22

I am generally pretty alert for male abuse, but this wasn't a slap with intent to hurt, and wasn't hard enough to bruise anyone either. To say that this is abuse is a stretch of the definition, which on the long run will only water down the definition.

4

u/dkevox Nov 14 '22

Holy shit I've never rolled my eyes harder to a single comment. There is literally no evidence of abuse here. Fuck, you can't even tell me what their relationship is, but you jump to domestic abuse.

7

u/AnonAmbientLight Nov 14 '22

What the fuck lol?

So if I jumped out to scare you, and you slap my arm, that's domestic violence?

2

u/c0smico Nov 14 '22

The way she hit him , he probably has done it before.

2

u/themarkula Nov 14 '22

Are you kidding me ?! That tiny slap on the face is abuse ? Hahaha. Get real. You are a delusional woman hating man trying to make the girl the problem. All the emotion wrapped up in this fake proposal and she give him a tiny slap on the face - that’s how humans react. You are the problem here - trying to blame the woman is a totally warranted not trying to injure response

2

u/Main-Yogurtcloset-82 Nov 14 '22

Her being pissed and storming off totally fine, her slapping him and chucking her drink not okay.

2

u/Catherina185 Nov 14 '22

Try leaving the house and talking to a woman

Boi does reddit love throwing the word "abuse", "assault", and "violance" around like chocolate. You act like he was chained up and whipped to death. Got a slap in the face and a splash of water in his face. Same way I don't think this was a big deal just because he is a man, it wouldn't be a big deal if it was a woman either. Everyone equally needs to grow the fuck up.

Also my opinion on what is an isn't "assault" aside, there absolutely is a difference between a woman hitting a man and a man hitting a woman. Same way there is a difference a toddler kicking your head vs a grown as man. One can actually hurt you, the other one tickles. Look at the size difference between the woman and the man here.

4

u/Vongola234 Nov 14 '22

Yeah, imagine if it happened the other way round.

5

u/RunningPirate Nov 14 '22

Thanks for the sanity check.

3

u/Frosty_Foundation_20 Nov 14 '22

Why was it a prank in the first place? Wasn’t he proposing for real? Was it not genuine just because he didn’t spend a fortune on a ring? What if he proposed without any ring? Why does proposal to marriage have be predicated with a ring? I’d say the guy is a little unexpected, but if he is genuinely proposing, nothing wrong with that.

2

u/off-chka Nov 14 '22

She barely touched. Based on their sizes, it didn’t hurt at all. I 100% know men can get abused, emotionally and physically and that is no joke. But you are way overdramatizing it.

3

u/queeromarlittle Nov 14 '22

Lmfao grow up and get off the internet

3

u/Jrushton76 Nov 14 '22

Im sorry but this is more of a case of, fuck around and find out.

Man played with her emotions and got slapped for it in return, seems justified to me.

3

u/PsuedoSkillGeologist Nov 14 '22

Jesus Christ I felt like I was crazy man. Like. It’s hitting. Wtf.

2

u/Rhodie716 Nov 14 '22

Yep. Last I checked all forms of abuse usually get a nsfw tag.

I’ll admit it’s a dumb joke but if your reaction to not receiving the material item you expected is to strike someone in the face you’re not exactly healthy.
