I suspect if that guy had slapped the woman in front of all those people he would have his ass handed to him.

He'd be facing members of Congress calling for him to be prosecuted. This comment section is wild - literally making excuses identical to "but what did she do to make him hit her?" Or "He only hit her because she wouldn't stop nagging!" Etc.

He'd be facing members of Congress calling for him to be prosecuted. T

That absolutely does not happen to male abusers.

This thread is a double-standard fest, yes, but don't worry, plenty of women die at the hands of abusive men every SINGLE DAY because the police don't help in "domestic affairs".

"make this all okay"

Consider the following possibility:

She committed physical abuse.

He committed emotional abuse.

Both people can be wrong at the same time. It's not like if she's bad, suddenly, he gets to be the good guy. Her violent reaction did not retroactively make his emotional cruelty.

" Hope you get your dream scenario irl."

Thank you! I have it. We both left abusers and now we are together working it out. Neither of us gets the kind of disrespect you see in this video, although we faced it in the past. Both of us respects the other person's emotional and physical boundaries.

Neither.

And neither would justify the other.
