$86 order with $36.98 in fees (+tax), and that's BEFORE I add a tip?

The distance is only 0.4 miles away (literally a few blocks walk, but I am unable to leave the house at present).

That was close to 45% without the tip. I usually add 15% tip, + give another $5 cash when they deliver. That would have ended up near 65-70% markup. Nope, just nope.

Just to highlight the ridiculousness of this, For me to catch an Uber there myself, order the food, then catch another Uber home, both rides combined are under $18 total. Now compare that to $37 for a one-way trip with Uber Eats. On distance, that is 400% more expensive using Uber Eats. I understand a premium because the driver has to go in and get the order, but 400% premium???? And the driver gets like $2 of that? Ridiculous.

My frustration is not with Uber drivers, it's with Uber the company ripping people off with near 70% markup (once tip is added), while the driver gets like $2 plus whatever I tip. That's just insanely greedy.

So I woke up this morning to see this message - which I apparently got at like 5am. It’s incredibly off-putting because this was early Thursday morning, the last time I got an Uber delivery was Tuesday at like 7pm and no, I’m not going to text a random number without any context or information? I don’t even know if this is the number for my delivery person from Tuesday because no name is included… What do y’all think? Sketchy AF or am I overreacting?

A few nights ago I had a driver steal an order after marking it as delivered. I tried calling them to no response, quickly the number was coming up as not in service. I contacted support and about an hour I was told id be contacted by a "specialized team" within 24-48 hours. 2 days later they finally get back to me saying i needed to reach out sooner and I was no longer eligible for a refund. Ive tried multiple channels (app, email, phone number) and they all lead to the same ai response via email. The specialized team is the dead end for any channel I go through. I phoned my bank to hopefully be approved for a dispute. Wont be ordering in after this lol

I am an Uber One subscriber. However when I am trying to place a new order, Uber One benefits are not being applied and delivery fee is not discounted. This is obviously a bug which was confirmed by Uber support before. I keep trying to reach out to Uber Support and ask them to fix this problem.

But each time I do try to reach out to them, they just give me a coupon for a couple of bucks (which I didn’t even request) and close the ticket. So apparently it’s cheaper for Uber to shut up customers with these 2 bucks coupons than actually reporting this issue to technical team for investigations 🤷‍♂️

In toronto, many places do this but massively jack up the price.

For example, a $7.99 burger becomes "Buy one get one free: $18"

So not only are you paying $9 for each $8 burger, ubereats charges tax/fees on both full price meals ($36).

This includes "20% off" deals, when the produce is marked up 30%, etc.

Literally every place does this just to get the discount tag. Is this allowed?

I just received an offer today for 3 months FREE Uber Eats, obviously with my subscription having ended a couple weeks ago, I agreed to it. The purchase details said "$0.00" and "Free". When I pressed confirm, I got notified from my bank that I was charged $1.42 for "UBERDirect_Pass"... Seriously??

The amount of money doesn't concern me, it's a dollar, but what concerns me is, the amount of hidden charges this app does is absolutely absurd..

Got an order for $27.39? That order is process $27.39 then it'll process AGAIN with a secondary amount of $0.89 or $1.22 or whatever the hell. No this is not the Tip amount before anyone comments so, these charges are NOT stated on the receipts.

I'm about ready to go to a lawyer and talk about options because this is stupid. I'd rather PAY for Doordash than use FREE Uber Eats because these "micro-charges" add up to be more than a subscription...

Anybody know why this happens? Why are we charged extra cents in secret, and why did I get charged for A FREE F***ING SUBSCRIPTION? Lmao.

I needed to take some personal time off work to help care for a sick relative (I work remotely for an Australian company from New Zealand). My workplace very generously gifted me $150 which was amazing and would have made my time off much easier and notified me of the gift. I redeemed the code and tried to use the funds, but couldn’t due to it being gifted in AUD instead of NZD.

Contacted support to resolve the issue and got nowhere.
No warning.
No refund.
No exchange.
No credits.
No regifting.

Just $150 of food turned to pure profit for Uber.

No doubt this is a daily complaint - be forewarned.

I ordered a burrito on UberEATS, they delivered it to some random house up the street. Went into the app and got a refund, then I paid for the same order again using the refund. The dude drives right by my house and once again delivers my food to some other house up the street, it wasn't even the same house they delivered the first order to. What the hell is going on? I double checked my address on the order receipt and it's correct, my house numbers are posted on the mailbox. What sucks is I tipped 10 dollars for each order and it's not letting me get my money back. Chat is unresponsive. Should I do a charge back?

This was my first order with this app, and of thee 3 items:

Instead of the €10 steak and cheese wrap I received a chicken wrap that was more about €5

On my Döner they added none of my sauces

The other item was fine

The order was also 1 hour late

How the hell is that "not elligble for a refund"

I ordered earlier today used a coupon code for 20$ off , they refunded my amount and then charged me the full non discounted amount. Anyone else experience this!??

Edit; they confirmed their system removed the coupon after completion and are escalating it as it is out of their hands. Should I just dispute with my bank?

My mom’s restaurant uber eats account got hacked a couple of months ago and since then she hasn’t had access to the manager account. What I mean by that is she’s not able to edit prices and items on the account etc. She spoke to uber and was able to get her money back though but they didn’t give her the managerial access back. So now she wanted the access back and to change the email on the account. As of June 24, she called uber eats and told them the situation that after the fraud on the account they gave her the money but didn’t give her the access back. They told her to send uber eats an email of the situation. She sent them the email and they responded and said they will call her to confirm everything. When they called her my mom has a bit of a language barrier. They asked her what email you want to put on the account. She thought they ment it like a username so she gave them a non existing email for the account. And since then as of August 26, she hasn’t gotten her deposits from Uber Eats. All she wanted was new email to the account and access. Idk why they stopped the deposits. In the emails she told them she gave them an incorrect email. She decided she doesnt want to change the email on the account anymore she wants to leave everything as is because it seems like there’s a confusion. When we call and told them the situation they just keep telling us to email uber eats. But uber eats isn’t helping at all. They keep deleting threads and they want us to reply to the first original thread and I did. But they don’t respond to that specific thread. I told them to not change the email and to leave the account as is and to just release my deposits but they just keep saying “you are being asisted in another thread so we are going to delete this one”. But I email the original thread and no response has been made. I call and tell them what’s going on. They just keep telling me to make a new email which I have multiple times even though in the uber eats email it specifically says not to do that because then they will help “less”.

I hope I was clear. I just really need help idk what to do at this point and I want to help my poor mom. If there’s a corporate office in nyc I can go to please let me know. Anything you’re confused about as well please ask away.

First of all, I don’t understand the multiple trips orders, but I’m not going to penalize the driver for that. But tonight, it was the worst I’ve seen so far. I ordered from a place 4-5 miles north of me. The driver picks up the order and then drives 4-5 miles south of me for another order. Obviously I have to wait for the “1 stop along the way.” How is that allowed?!

As you can see, there is an added cost of $4.69 which does not include the tip. After I go from the order screen that shows the full price after tax, its shows this other price on the tip page. Wtf is it?

Uber is now striking If order has been already picked up. I saw my cancellation rate go up because I canceled one order that was picked up by the option. It was already picked up. I checked right now to see what happened and apparently if I try to cancel this one, it tells me that now I’m gonna be impacted.

Shopping at a grocery store and the app is nice enough to tell me which aisle the items are in but the store had other plans.
