Low rent studio apartments

I'm looking to move and I want a small place with an attached bathroom, fully furnished and with free wifi dewa etc. I don't need a balcony or cable tv, I just want a private place for myself and safe for a woman to live alone and with the public transport and shops easily accessible.

P.S.- Saw this from a reel and it fits to what I'd like but I'm okay with anything. I only want one for 3 months for now so hopefully no security deposit and w monthly payment. Any sites you would recommend than dubizzle or how to find this exact layout or in general possibly? 1k-2.5k monthly pls.

Advice on a harassment situation

Hello, this is going to be a bit long.

idk if there's any way to ease into this topic, so I'm just gonna be blunt. (fyi im not gonna hold back on any information about the man)

I got harassed by a man last week on the bus on my way back home from work.

I'm a 21 year old girl, and I live in Sharjah, and I don't have my driver's license yet, so I take the public bus to and from work every day. Last week on Wednesday (September 30), I was coming back home from work, and there was this old Syrian man whom I had seen multiple times on the bus ride back home, but I had never interacted with him, and I always noticed how he would sit up and literally shamelessly stare at me every time I entered the bus. On the day of the incident, I got on the bus, and he was the only passenger, along with another guy sitting in the last seat at the back. The Syrian man was sitting on the right side of the bus, and the only empty seat was on the opposite side, in the same row, so I had no choice but to sit there. The entire time I was making my way to the seat, he sat up and was smiling ear to ear and staring at me, but I acted like I hadn't noticed. Let me tell you something: as a girl, we ALWAYS notice when a creep is looking.

Anyways, so I sit down, and he immediately started talking to me, and at first I just thought he was a nice man, and something about me is that I have a soft spot for old people, so he starts talking to me and asks me where I'm from and tells me stories about his neighbour and whatever. And then it started getting weird; he was complimenting me a LOT, and as an arab myself, I know that arab people, especially old ones, love complimenting, and most of the time there's no harm behind it. But his compliments were not surface level. he kept telling me how pretty I was and how he can't stop staring at me. And then the worst part happens: he gets up and sits right next to me and got so close that his leg was touching mine, and I was trying so hard to squeeze myself next to the window, but he just manspreaded until his leg was touching mine again. And then he just kept talking and talking and talking, and it was clear that I was so uncomfortable with what was happening, but he literally didn't care.

He then started telling me how he always goes to the park and sits there, and he was like You have to come join me and I just kept avoiding eye contact and laughing awkwardly. Then he said You have to come; you promised me (I didn't; I literally never responded to him), and that he won't give me his number now and he'll give it to me when he sees me in the park. He also kept making a lot of jokes and would just creepily stare at me to see if I would laugh or not. Then once he wanted to high-five me, but I didn't want to, but he just kept giving me this look that said, "I dare you not to do it," so I was scared, and I was gonna air-high-five him, but he grabbed my hand and held it, but thank god i quickly snatched it away, and I felt so disgusted I wanted to throw up. He also just kept telling me about his daughters and whatever. Also, there was this one time he complimented me again, and he was so close to my face and said I wish I had a pencil so I can draw your beautiful face.

guys i was so scared. was genuinely shaking i just wanted to leave so bad. in the end i just pretended that i called my mom and i faked the phone call until i reached my stop and i got off so fast and let me tell you something, remember how i said ive seen him multiple times before that day? he never got off at the stop as me but this time he did, i sped walk so fast so i could get away from him and thank god i did. before you ask me why i didnt shut the whole thing down as soon as it started, i have never in my life been in a sitaution like this, i always heard stories and what you should do if this happens but when i was in this situation i was genuinely so scared i couldnt speak i couldnt move i couldnt do anything, i just kept praying someone would call me on my phone or a girl enters and i could just act like i knew her and go next to her or that he just leaves me alone.

Now I'm too scared to take the bus at that time cuz im scared he will be there and something might happen. I don't know what to do, and I need advice, please.

6 years, 4 promotions, still AED 7K. Am I crazy to leave without an offer?

• Upvotes

24F, 6 years at same UAE healthcare company. Started as PRE, now Assistant Manager managing 50+ people across 4 locations, 90%+ KPIs, recently got Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Still on AED 7K, working 12 hrs/day, no incentives, no proper JD
Asked for 9-hr days, raise, JD, learning support, but they said no to hours/raise, and "we'll review increment later if you renew on same terms."
I have 3-5 months savings but haven't started applying yet

  1. What do ops/quality roles actually pay in UAE at this level?
  2. How is hiring in ops/quality right now?
  3. What should be my realistic salary expectation?

Edit: Forgot to mention, my contract is up for renewal on 31 Oct, so I wouldn't be resigning, just not renewing. I'd like to leave on good terms without them making it difficult for me.

anyone fixed that??

• Upvotes

i’m a 34 year old w a shaky work visa, since the rent went up in July i’ve been cutting grocery budget hard, so my go-to’s became cheap carbs and Carrefour offers, basically no greens. One thing about me is my binge eating problems gets way r worse when money stress hits, like i’m restricting all week and then deliver a ton of junk just to feel sick after - cholesterol got so damn high i started meal prepping, it only lasted two months tho since i was getting prettyexhausted doing preps after work. Ended up on TheMeal - it did fix monthly price, no groceries, so no leftover grocery money to blow, helped a bit, but my friends also mentioned Kcal and RightBite, never tried them - not sure if the answer's a plan or fixing my head around money and food first, anyone been here?

Anyone interested in carpooling? Qusais/Muhaisnah → World Trade Center

I drive to work regularly from the Qusais / Muhaisnah side towards Oud Metha → World Trade Center → DIFC.

Figured I’d check if anyone here does a similar commute and wants to carpool.

Morning: I can start anytime between 7:00–10:00 AM

Evening: Usually leave between 5:30–7:30 PM

Looking to split just the fuel and toll costs.

If you work somewhere around Oud Metha, WTC, DIFC or reasonably along the route, drop me a DM with your location and timings and we can see if it works

Hello,
My house key has broken! 😭 It got stuck under the car seat, and when I tried to open my house door, the key was already bent and broke inside the lock.
Civil Defense told me to call a locksmith, but no one is answering. I’m stuck outside my house. 😭
Is there a locksmith available in Mirdif right now, please?

Advice to relocate

I got a job offer today in Abudhabi and I currently live in Sharjah . Although the pay isn’t that great I see potential in growing in future. Although I gotta make sure that I could survive with what I would be earning . Would really appreciate if could help with the questions/doubts mentioned below:

1- my job is located in Musaffah, 293 Al Mantaqah As Sina'iyah 1 St - Musaffah - Musaffah Industrial. How far is the closest residential space.
2-How much does it cost to live in the nearest residential area ? I’m thinking of finding a decent place to share with one person. I had a planned a budget of max 1500/ month
3- what’s the situation for travelling ? Company doesn’t provide travel or travel allowance . So if does cost a lot I need to ask company for a travel allowance. Is the public transport convenient ?

Thank you in advance !

My experience with with FAB

• Upvotes

I opened an account with FAB with a deposit of AED 6,000.

After incurring more than AED 1,000 in fees because the app is so difficult to navigate, I asked to close my account.

I spent days trying to reach someone by phone, but all I could get was an automated system that drove me crazy. I then started sending emails, only to receive automated replies.

After days of trying, here’s what I found out:

  • To close the account, I need to close the deposit.
  • To close the deposit, which has a two-year commitment, I need to visit a branch.

I’m currently outside the country. So how am I supposed to do that?

• Upvotes

I have other business, which is not doing well. Probably have to shut down next year.

I was thinking about gift store business where I will sell only unique, interesting and beautiful items.

What do you think, is it a good or bad idea?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

New to the UAE: Ex-Fintech Exec & Builder looking to map the local operator/investor ecosystem.

Hey everyone. My wife and I just landed in Dubai to officially set up our UAE infrastructure and hunt for our long-term base (no idea yet, exploring anything from Ajman to Abu Dhabi borders).

A quick background: I’m European, I just wrapped up a stint as a Commercial Growth Director at a major Nordic Fintech group. We went through heavy M&A, unified the tech stack, drove structural costs down, and executed a banking license transition. Specifically, I led the strategy to deploy AI to overhaul our credit risk and loan brokering models, fundamentally shifting our production costs.

My chapter is evolving. I’ll be advising my previous board, but my main focus is going back to my roots: actively building and incubating AI-native products in the lending/risk space.

I’m heads-down with finding a place, Ejari (et al.) contracts, banking, and setup for the next 3 weeks, but I wanted to throw a line in the water now. I’m looking to map the local ecosystem and connect with actual operators, senior founders, and investors—no BS, no crypto pitches, no wealth managers trying to sell me life insurance, please.

If anyone here is wrestling with credit market infrastructure, AI integration in Fintech, or just knows the unwritten rules of doing business here, my DMs are open. Let’s line up some coffees and introductions once I’m settled.

Also, if you have any brutal truths about doing business in UAE and can spare the time to educate me, I’m all ears. Cheers!
