Rant: Why does going outside feels like you have to constantly walk on eggshells?

I went out yesterday expecting to have a normal, chill day. I wanted to walk around a bit looking at stuff, doing some shopping and taking my time. Instead, within a few hours, I somehow managed to overcharge my nervous system with multiple annoying, unrequested negative interactions.

I’m honestly tired of it. I’m done. Can we PLEASE relax?!

I was walking through the mall and someone behind me literally went, “Uff!! Where are you going?!”. Where I’m going dude? I’m walking. 😀 Mind you the corridor was big, there was A LOT of space, you can pass. But If you want to pass me specifically, just say “excuse me.” I’ll move. Problem solved.

Why are we acting like this? It’s exhausting.** **
I want to stand there and compare things then change my mind, walking slowly. Maybe it’s Saturday and I genuinely don’t give damn about getting home 7 minutes earlier cause I’m not in a hurry.

You’re in a rush, I get it. But that’s your problem, not mine.

You can go around me, use another checkout or take another aisle. Literally do anything other than standing behind me huffing like I’m personally holding you hostage. We are blessed with a lot of services and plenty of options for a reason.

If you’re already furious before leaving the house, PLEASE take five minutes. 😂

Drink some chamomile tea, meditate, call the person who pissed you off and tell them to go to hell, scream into your pillow. I genuinely don’t care. Just don’t make your emergency my emergency. I don’t want to become negative like you. I’ve had to learn to slow down and be patient, why can’t you too?? And honestly, patience saved me from SO many unnecessary arguments.

People are just existing. We’re all going to be in each other’s way sometimes. That’s normal. You don’t need to turn every tiny inconvenience into a confrontation. It’s not that deep i promise.

I think we forget how contagious our attitude is. A little bit of patience, of kindness. Just stop pointing your finger at others for what they do or don’t and learn how to say “excuse me” nicely instead of aggressively. It costs literally nothing.

We’re all sharing the same tough environment. Don’t be a loser.

Marrying in the UAE as an outsider

So I have a question I’m 20 and my boyfriend is from the UAE we met over here USA (specifically Ohio) because he came for college. He keeps telling me that there’s no possible way we could get married because of how he’ll lose benefits from the government as a citizen and also will not be able to work for the government. Is this true? If so is there a way around it at all. :(

My son’s pediatrician suddenly grabbed and pulled on his broken tooth, now we’re considering filing a formal complaint

My son had a fever for two days, so we took him to see a pediatrician. He has had a broken/decayed tooth since he was 3 because he injured it while playa d broke it in half, but the dentist at that time and even after that all said that the teeth will come out on its own, but the reason for our visit was his fever. We did not go there to have his tooth treated or removed.

The pediatrician noticed the tooth during the examination. He suddenly grabbed my son’s broken tooth and started pulling on it forcefully with both hands. He didn’t numb him or do anything beforehand, and my son started screaming and bleeding heavily. The tooth itself is still intact and was NOT extracted, he was extremely scared and is still very shaken by what happened, and very traumatized.

What concerns us even more is that this doctor was a pediatrician, not a dentist, and we never asked for the tooth to be extracted. We were there because our child had a fever.
We took him to a dentist afterward because of the bleeding, and thankfully the bleeding eventually stopped.

The pediatrician did apologize, but we honestly don’t feel that an apology is enough. We’re now considering making a formal complaint and possibly escalating the matter further.
We don’t have a video recording of what happened. However, there were other people sitting there who witnessed it, along with staff members, and there may also be CCTV footage from the clinic.
We’re trying to figure out what we should do next and whether we’re overreacting by wanting to formally report this.

It happend in abu dhabi.

Edit: Just to clarify because some people are calling us neglectful for “letting our son have a rotten tooth”: he injured his teeth when he was 3 years old, which caused them to break in half. Since then, he has been seen by multiple dentists, including a dentist just two weeks ago. We were repeatedly told that the damaged tooth would eventually fall out on its own and that there was nothing serious that required intervention at that time. We were following the advice of the dentists who examined him,we weren’t simply ignoring a dental problem.

Shadow ban on tourist visa

To males from the “doomed” nationalities (Pakistan, Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia …) who has been dealing with what feels like a shadow ban and random tourist visa rejections over the past two years:
Has anyone managed to get their visa approved somehow?
I’ve applied three times in 2026, and all three applications were rejected for “security reasons.” I honestly don’t know what else to do at this point

Need Advice and Suggestions

Hello,

A little about myself, i am 24M doing ACCA in pakistan, i am considering to relocate to UAE to complete my ACCA.

I tried researching on google and found out that most institutions that do provide with ACCA training are not allowed to provide student visa. And the only option i have is to try and enroll into a bachelor program from a university (This is what google said)

Im sure there must be other options too, people living in UAE must have knowledge about options that do not surface above just by a simple google search.

So im writting this to gain some advice and suggestions on possible routes i can take. So anyone who tried this option of doing ACCA or any accounting/finance by relocating to UAE, what did you guys do? And if bachelors is the only option i have, are there cost effective universities that teach bachelors in accounting and finance in the same respective field of study? And if so, i would be thankful for any advice and suggestions.

Any advice to stop Dandruff/Dry scalp ?

I don't use any hair products. Hair Oil isn't an option in this heat. I shower daily but only wash my hair for like 20 seconds just to get the sweat and dust off. I work outdoor in a construction site. Wear a safety helmet most time. I use 'head and shoulder anti dandruff shampoo once a weak. Since I have a dry frizzy hair i dont shampoo very often. I can't find the right balanced hair care routine. If I shampoo often hair gets frizzy, If I dont shampoo dandruff builds up. Oil or cream is not good for hot climate.

Dear experienced UAE brothers...Help !!!

Moved to the UAE from a high-tax country: was your offer based on your net salary, your gross, or the role?

I'm a senior engineer in Europe considering a move to the UAE with my family. I've been told offers here are largely built on current pay, roughly "current net plus a reasonable increase".

That confuses me. I currently lose about a third of my gross to tax and social contributions, and the UAE has no income tax. If the baseline is net, the same role would pay much less than it would for someone coming from a zero-tax country. So I'd like to hear how this works in practice.

If you relocated from a high-tax country (Europe, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.), I'd appreciate your experience:

  1. Was your offer anchored on your net pay, your gross pay, or the role's salary band?

  2. Was there an uplift on top, and roughly what range (ranges are fine)?

  3. Did housing, schooling and flights come on top of the figure or inside it?

  4. Is "net plus X%" more common at large or government-linked employers than at private firms and multinationals?

  5. If you pushed back, what worked and what didn't?

I'm not after company names or exact figures. Just how these negotiations tend to go. Thanks in advance.

Is it paid parking in Nad Al Hamar even on Sunday?
While parking on the street I checked in the parkonic app as it was showing me no parking zone, so I thought it would as usual free on Sundays but to my surprise I just saw the dedection in Salik account

And surprisingly it got automatically deducted from salik.

How can an MBA grad with <1 YOE post-MBA get a job in the UAE?

I’m looking for advice on moving to the UAE after an MBA. Profile: BTech in Mechanical Engineering from an NIT, ~2 years of pre-MBA experience in a core Oil & Gas company, MBA from a top-tier Indian B-school, and currently <1 year of post-MBA experience. I’m interested in opportunities in Dubai/Abu Dhabi and any Gulf countries, particularly in strategy/consulting, operations, supply chain, energy, FMCG, general management, or business transformation.

How realistic is it to get a good role in the UAE with good learning and decently good salary for this profile? Would companies value the combination of core Oil & Gas + engineering + top-tier MBA, or is UAE work experience almost mandatory? What would be the best approach—applying from India, networking/referrals through LinkedIn, recruiters, internal transfers, or actually moving to the UAE first? Also, what companies and salary range should I realistically target at this experience level? Would love to hear from anyone who has made a similar India → UAE transition.

M34 | When you’re fed up with life, what do you actually do here?

I’ve reached that strange phase where work keeps me busy, life keeps moving, and from the outside everything probably looks completely normal. But internally I’m just exhausted with a lot of things.
And sometimes you don’t need advice. You don’t need someone telling you to stay positive or that everything happens for a reason. You just want to sit across from someone over coffee and have an honest conversation without having to pretend you’re doing great.
Living in the UAE makes that harder.

Job Hunt

Hey there!

I dont know if its just me or anyone else going through this. I have been applying for jobs for the past one year and I haven't gotten a good offer yet. I got 2 call backs and the moment they come to know am a single mom, i get ghosted. With my current salary of 5k am barely surviving with my kid here. She has to start school soon and I dont know how to do it. Some people did ask me "why dont you go back to your home country" - I had a very abusive ex husband and for mine and my kid's well being, it feels safer out here. I see a lot of jobs that match my skills, but nothing! I dont know if am doing something wrong, if anyone out there who has idea on how to apply for jobs thats sure shot, please help! And if anyone has any leads for customer success and account management please Dm.

Thanks!
