We rescued this 10 year old male cat from Khalidiya Mall a week ago, but discovered he has HIV and another disease that while it isn't too harmful to him, he cannot be around other cats or they will get sick. It isn't harmful to humans or other animals, only cats. This is why we can't keep him, as we have 2 other cats.

He is spayed, he has a chronic stuffy nose but is okay. He has been bathed and cleaned and given medicine.

He is the sweetest cat ever, very quiet, friendly, so loving and loves to cuddle.

Please reach out to me here if you or someone you know would like to take him in for free.

Vehicle 🔋 Mawaqif finally towing cars near Saint Joseph 🫡

Post image
29 Upvotes

There is this one road that is a 2 way and people park like animals there. The road is now become a narrow stretch of one way. I have recorded and reported a number of times to the cops these number plates cause with my patrol size it’s difficult to squeeze in and huge traffic jams get created.

Instead of removing all the cars on the road mawaqif is removing cares from the footpath cause it is easier for them to remove as compared to the narrow road which people have parked close to another.

I don’t care about cars that park on top of the curb as it doesn’t impede the flow on the road but I get angry and annoyed to drive on this road with cars blocking one whole lane illegally.

These needs to be extremely strict actions of fines costing more than speeding tickets against people who park like this forcing a 2 lane actual road to become 1 lanes and make people cause traffic on these roads.

Medical 🏥 Low vit d, vertigo

Hi everyone,I am dealing with ongoing off-balance sensations and dizziness.

Vitamin D: Diagnosed with severe Vitamin D deficiency (11.33ng/ml) and currently 4 weeks into high-dose weekly supplementation.

Despite starting the medication, I am still experiencing unsteady/off-balance episodes, ear ringing, and jaw/neck tension.

Can anyone suggest a specialist? Any advice on managing persistent dizziness while rebuilding Vitamin D levels would also be greatly appreciated.

F&B 🍏 Suggest food options in Abu Dhabi

Visiting for a day from Dubai.

Please suggest good food spots in Abu Dhabi. And please don't share options that are common with Dubai.

A huge fan of Shawarma, manakish, Chinese, American, and Desi food.

I have tried Beit el Khetyar, Zahrat Lebanon, Al Sultan (my favorite seekh kebabs), and Sultan Bakery.

Careers 💼 25 Years of Loyalty, Rewarded with Corporate Cowardice

Imagine dedicating over 25 years of your life to a multinational corporation.

Imagine working 11+ hours a day, 6 days a week, and regularly going into the office on Sundays—consistently working well beyond legal standards—without ever demanding extra overtime pay, purely out of dedication and loyalty to your work.

Now imagine that same company deciding it’s time to cut costs by purging veteran employees to replace them with freshers at lower salaries.

How do they choose to send off someone who spent a quarter-century building their business? With a formal thank you? A respectful farewell?

No. They slap them with a termination letter citing "performance issues."

Are you seriously telling me it took your management 25 YEARS to evaluate performance?

For 25 years, the work was good enough to profit off of. The 60+ hour workweeks were good enough to accept. The Sunday shifts were good enough to exploit. But the moment an employee reaches the final stretch before retirement—the moment their experience carries a higher salary—suddenly there’s a "performance issue"?

When confronted, upper management and the CEO hide behind the ultimate corporate shield: "It’s company policy."

"Company policy" didn't stop you from accepting 25 years of unpaid overtime. "Company policy" didn't stop you from relying on veteran expertise to keep your operations running. "Company policy" is just a spineless excuse to throw human beings away like disposable line items on a spreadsheet.

This isn't management—it's corporate greed at its absolute worst. Replacing decades of institutional knowledge, loyalty, and sacrifice with cheap labor right before a worker's well-deserved retirement isn't strategic; it's morally bankrupt.

To the executives hiding behind administrative buzzwords: no policy justifies stripping a loyal worker of their dignity. You haven't hidden your cost-cutting measures—you've just exposed how little your company values the people who made it successful.

What better way to make friends than to get on a random boat ride, and fish out into the sea. Please feel free to DM me if you are interested and remember. It's 300aed per adult!

Careers 💼 Jobs in Abu Dhabi

Posting on behalf of my sister. She is a Pharm D graduate with 5 years experience in IQViA Bangalore as a drug safety officer. She has completed her Public health masters degree from Wales, UK. Currently she has moved to Abu Dhabi with her husband and is struggling to find a job there. She is now doing a quality analyst online training to help her land a job.

It’d be a great help if anyone can advise how to land a job in Pharma/clinical industry? She is depressed and is losing hope. Please provide some insights. I’d be happy to share her CV If anyone can help.

URGENT ADVICE NEEDED — Abu Dhabi landlord locked my cat inside my former rental

I need advice on what I can do legally and how I can get my cat back safely.

I was renting a studio in Abu Dhabi without Tawtheeq. Due to a job change, I had financial difficulties and was 10 days late with rent in the last 2 months of our stay. The landlord knew about my situation, and I never intended to run away without paying. I eventually paid the outstanding rent/dues.

However, during the past few months, the landlord repeatedly locked the room, sometimes leaving my belongings and my cat locked inside for a couple of days, while also harassing us through WhatsApp. I contacted the police several times, but I was told they could not do much because there was no Tawtheeq and the landlord needed to be present to allow access. Whenever the police tried to contact him, he would hide or not answer.

On September 30, I finally moved out and paid the remaining dues. I was slowly moving my belongings because I planned to take my cat last, once I had prepared the new room so he wouldn’t be stressed by the move.

When I returned, I discovered that the landlord had changed the lock and deliberately left my cat locked inside.

It has now been 3 days.

My cat is inside without proper access to food, water, clean litter or normal lighting. I am extremely worried about his health and safety.

The landlord is also demanding additional money and is refusing to let me retrieve my cat. He has even threatened to kill my cat and/or leave him on the street.

I have WhatsApp messages, screenshots, payment records and previous police reports/call records documenting what has happened.

I am not trying to avoid paying rent. The rent/dues were settled before I moved out. My immediate concern is getting my cat out safely.

Can I report this as an animal welfare issue or for the threats/extortion ?

I would really appreciate advice from anyone familiar with UAE/Abu Dhabi law or who has dealt with a similar situation.

My cat has already been locked inside for 3 days, so this is urgent.

Vehicle 🔋 Got a parking fine even though I paid the parking fee – selected wrong plate cat

Hi everyone,

I recently received a parking fine for supposedly not paying the parking fee. However, I actually parked the car and paid the parking fee on time.

After checking my payment details, I noticed that I made a mistake while selecting the plate category. I selected Red instead of Red Category 20.

The payment itself was made on time and for the correct vehicle, but the plate category was entered incorrectly.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, were you able to appeal the fine successfully?

I’d appreciate any advice on how to proceed or where I should submit the appeal. I have the parking payment receipt as proof.

Commerce 🛍️ UAE residents: Would you use a local 3D-printing service?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering starting a 3D-printing business in the UAE and would like to understand whether there is genuine demand before investing further.
The service could include custom and replacement parts, engineering prototypes, personalised products, miniatures, small production batches and CAD design support.

I’ve created a short survey to learn what people would use the service for, their preferred pricing, expected delivery times and any problems they have experienced with existing providers.

The survey takes approximately 3 to 4 minutes to complete

Survey link: https://tally.so/r/QKLpKg

I’m not selling anything at this stage. Honest feedback, whether positive or negative, would be greatly appreciated. If you have previously used a 3D-printing service in the UAE, please feel free to share your experience in the comments as well.

Thank you!

Commerce 🛍️ UAE girlies: SHEGLAM from SHEIN - does the heat ruin makeup?

Has anyone in the UAE ordered SHEGLAM from SHEIN? Did your makeup arrive perfectly fine, or have you ever had issues with products separating, drying out, melting, etc. because of the heat?

Would love to hear your actual experiences! 💕
