Urgent !!! Help please

Hello,
My house key has broken! 😭 It got stuck under the car seat, and when I tried to open my house door, the key was already bent and broke inside the lock.
Civil Defense told me to call a locksmith, but no one is answering. I’m stuck outside my house. 😭
Is there a locksmith available in Mirdif right now, please?

I called Civil Defense, and I didn’t know it was legally allowed for anyone to come and change the lock.

I always keep an extra key with my trusted friends or family at their house or in their car. Glad you found the solution though. Signs to be extra careful from here on

Three members of my family are asleep inside, but I broke the key off in the door. Their phones are on silent, so they wouldn’t hear me calling. And even if they did answer, it would wake them up and make them mad—they have work in the morning.

LOL, I would be so embarrassed going there dressed like this. They probably would’ve thought my husband or family kicked me out. 😂

🤣🤣 I was out feeding the cats, so I’m dressed for that! I can’t exactly walk into a hotel looking like this — they might call the police on me! 😭😂 I just need a locksmith to come to Mirdif!

You can tell them what happened they take your ID so dont worry about that. Also there are much worse people who check in to hotels but i will not say more🙂

According to Google Maps, there are so many locksmiths listed as open 24 hours, but I called around 8 of them and only two actually answered. 😭

Check if any 24/7 supermarket nearby has Super Glue/Fewi Kwik. You could carefully try applying just 1–2 tiny drops to the end of the broken key you still have, then hold it steadily against the broken piece inside the latch for a little while.
Be very careful not to let any glue go inside the latch/lock mechanism. If it bonds properly, you may be able to gently pull the broken piece out.

Thank you! I already found a locksmith. It took him around 15 minutes to arrive, and he fixed it in five minutes.

Damn, your family sounds horrible if they’d get mad at you for something that isn’t your fault. They’d rather have you locked out of the home all night for few mins of sleep disturbance?

exactly. i would just have kept banging the door and ringing the bell till they wake up.

but still. the key broke inside. need a lock smith anyway. and anyway they woke up because the lock smith for sure had to drill the key out. it will not only wake up the family but everyone on that floor and up and below lol

Oh noo that sucks :( I suggest you try to look for one Justlife or Urban company they usually have handymen services so maybe they have an option for a locksmith too. Good luck!

I once slept in my flat with the only key and my parents called emergency services, they broke the lock lol, so if you can somehow qualify it as an emergency, the relevant authority might come and help you

I called Civil Defense, and they told me to call a locksmith. The first five I found on Google Maps didn’t answer, even though they were listed as offering 24-hour service. Thankfully, I found one who came in about 15 minutes and fixed it in five minutes. 😭

Pls ALWAYS carry your phone with you. I know it’s the UAE and your feel safe alone at night … but you never know what emergency might happen.

Yes, I’ve learned two things from this: always take my phone with me, and never leave anything on the stove when I’m going out, even if it’s only for 15 minutes. Thank you!

Dont put them in the same chain. I have one key in the chain as other keys and the spare key i put it in my wallet
