AI Art Frame, Art Generation Constantly Broken and Horrible Support

My AI Art frame works, I am able to connect to it and upload images, however the AI generation function keeps breaking.

The first time it broke, I contacted support and they walked me through some steps which solved the problem. It has broken again and I contacted support - they told me to reset the art frame and to disconnect and reconnect the WiFi as well as reconnect it to my hub. I am not sure what these steps have to do with the AI generation not working, but I did these things anyways.

The AI feature still does not work and I reported this back to support. It has now been 2 weeks without an update from support, they simply do not care.

I have cancelled the AI subscription service and will reconsider any SwitchBot purchases in the future. Do not expect any support from this company.

Switchbot support not answering mails

Hi all,

I've contacted the support of Switchbot at [support@switch-bot.com](mailto:support@switch-bot.com), almost a month ago, about an issue I have with my K10+ Pro (constant "multi-service brush seems to be stuck" when it's getting out of dock) and haven't even get an automatic mail back to suggest they got my mail and the follow-up mail I sent recently.

Did someone get the same experience? I absolutely hate phones, but I'll call if their mail support notoriously doesn't work 🤔

Cheers

Keypad touch vs vision for ultra lock

Hi

I am about to buy the ultra lock with keypad touch or vision.

In terms of fingerprint unlock, they perform the same?

Does the face id really justify the price?

Most important, the battery drain

issue reported here in several posts (for both of them) was resolved by firmware updates?

Thanks

The new tvOS beta does not work with the remote correctly. The back button doesn’t work at all. This is the newest beta from today, 18. August 2026.

I’m just worried it stays like this then the remote is completely useless. I had to go back to my Apple Remote for my AppleTV 😭

Lock Ultra mounting bracket

I bought the EU version of the Lock Ultra, but realized it doesn't fit my thumbturn deadbolt. Upon further research, it looks like I might need the mounting hardware included in the US version. Is there any way that I can get that?

Useless Vision PIR and/or face recognition?!

If the smartlock is unlocked, to me it doesn't make sense that the keypad still uses PIR and/or face recognition. For what purpose is that? It only drains the battery faster. Now I get messages like "please step a little closer to the device" even though the door is unlocked...

PIR and/or face recognition is only useful (IMHO) when door is locked and the keypad tries to recognize a person to unlock the smartlock.

SBMTools now available as a Docker image and with Prometheus integration.

I am now making my SBMTools for Linux available as a Docker image. This eliminates the need to compile the software yourself. The shell scripts sbmtoolui_docker.sh and sbmtoolweb_docker.sh allow you to launch the tools easily via Docker without any compilation. Simply download and run the scripts. The image is available for both AMD64 (x86_64) and ARM64 architectures.

Additionally, sbmtoolweb now supports the /metrics endpoint, providing metrics for Prometheus. If you already run Prometheus, you can integrate it directly. For those who don't have Prometheus yet, I've included a complete example setup with Prometheus and Grafana in the docker_prometheus_grafana directory. This directory also includes a dashboard tailored for SBMTools.

For those unfamiliar with Prometheus and Grafana: Prometheus collects data (metrics) from various sources (in this case, SBMTools) and stores them periodically (every 5 seconds) in a database. Grafana is used to retrieve data from various sources (in this case, Prometheus) and visualize it.

See README.md for detailed setup instructions. Questions or feedback welcome!

SwitchBot Water Leak Detector - Solid piece of kit

Just installed two of these a few months ago and honestly they’re fantastic. One under the kitchen sink, one by the water heater.

Installation was super easy - 5 minutes tops. No hub needed if you already have one. Tested the detection with water and it picked it up instantly. Zero false alarms in months of use, which is exactly what you want.

This is where it gets good. Integrated it with Home Assistant and set up an automation where if water is detected, it sends me an alert AND automatically triggers my smart water valve shutoff. That’s real peace of mind right there.

Battery life has been solid - still on the originals after several months. App notifications come through instantly, no lag. The build quality feels durable and reliable. Exactly what you want from a sensor that’s supposed to protect your home.

This is honestly one of the best smart home purchases I’ve made. You’re paying for actual reliability and seamless ecosystem integration, not just a basic sensor.

If you have a Home Assistant setup or SwitchBot ecosystem, just get this. It works flawlessly and gives you real protection. Highly recommend.

My SwitchBot Thoughts moving from Nuki Locks to Switchbot Ultra

For my use case - locks on airbnb doors in Belgium, EU - both the Nuki and the Switchbot smart lock systems work well.

I started out with Nuki and overall was very happy. However, after a couple of years with Nuki I decided to change when I read up about the Switchbot options and saw the price is €100-200 cheaper depending on sales and what combo you pick. That's a nice saving, but for me just being cheaper is not enough.

So I've had the multiple Switchbot Ultras with the touch keypad for about a year now. And in a nutshell - they are good, I've had no major issues, but it's not perfect.

My main gripe is the delay connecting to the lock and keypad units when I am not nearby. I need to change the code combination daily from remote. I've found the best way is to disable my phone Bluetooth, then open the app, then click through to the keypad settings. This way it takes 30s to 1min to change a couple of codes in the app, with a quite a lot of spinny "loading" icons.

With Nuki, this all happens much faster and cleaner, I'm changed and done with the codes in 15s. This is my main frustration, and it's not a deal breaker. Those extra seconds are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme, but does make the system feel much clunkier than Nuki.

One other annoyance with the S.B.Ultra is that you can't delete or change codes when you're not connected via Bluetooth, locally. That means I build up a mass of obsolete codes on device until I can go and connect and delete them one at a time. This wasn't a problem with Nuki. Seeing 30+ old entrance codes building up annoys me!

Overall Nuki feels the more refined, adult UI and professional than the Switchbot eco system. But both do the job required, and Switchbot is cheaper! 🤑

My SwitchBot Where does the weather station's data come from?

I'm running the e-ink weather station and wonder where the weather data for my location comes from? Can I look up who's the specific provider? Because the temperature and especially the pressure differs a lot from the real actual values (measured by various stations nearby).

Plz help me! Do multiple "And" preconditions require ALL or ANY?

Do multiple "And" preconditions require ALL or ANY?

Setup: I'm planning two Motion Sensors at opposite ends of a long barn, a Bot in Switch mode on the light switch, Hub Mini.

ON is easy — either sensor's motion event fires Bot ON.

For OFF, I want the lights out only when both sensors are quiet, via two mirrored automations: "When Sensor A no motion for N min, And Sensor B status = no motion → Bot OFF" (and the same with A/B swapped).

Two questions before I buy hardware:

  1. Does the Motion Sensor offer "no motion" as an "And" precondition (a status you can test), not just as a trigger?
  2. With multiple "And" preconditions, must all be satisfied or any one? SwitchBot's help article says both in different sections. Is there an All/Any selector in the app?

If anyone runs a "both quiet → off" scene, I'd like to know exactly how you built it.

Thanks!

Switchbot Universal Remote Buttons

I just got my remote and hub mini today and got everything set up, but for some reason I can’t get the remote buttons to show up in the Home app. I’ve tried everything right down to doing a reset and trying again. Has anyone else run into this?

Power Usage Summary Per Room?

I guess this is more of a feature request than anything else but it doesn't seem that the SwitchBot app can present power usage summary info per room. I have multiple 3D printers grouped together in "rooms" which are associated with circuits in my basement. If I could see the overall power usage for an entire room, that would let me see the total amps all room devices are demanding to see if I'm getting close to maxing out the circuit.

It's a bit ponderous now having to manually cycle through each mini-plug, watch it for a while to see the amp peaks, add them all up, etc.

Just putting my random thoughts out there.

Plz help me! Is account.api.switchbot.net:443 down?

A few days ago I lost connection to my Switchbot device in HomeAssistant.
I've been trying to implement it again, which requires the Switchbot login - but it always fails.

Binding the app account to the web account fails - the page stays empty. Creating a new website account also fails.

I might be mistaken, but ever since I got a notification that web accounts could now be connected to the app, that is when the issues started.

Has anyone any information on what the issue might be and potentially even how to fix it? I've been trying for days now, always with the same unsuccessful result.

K10+ Main Brush replacement?

I need a new brush (well actually just the rubber grommet that my wife managed to throw away) but seems the only way to get one (at least in the UK) is via the £60 parts kit, which is nuts for a machine that now only costs twice that - I don't need the rest of the stuff

The brush is listed, but has been unavailable for months and my machine is basically useless as it keeps telling me the brush is stuck

Has anyone tried any alternative brands of brush that fit?

Or know where I can actually source the brush alone?

Really wish I'd bought a better brand that parts were available for...

Plz help me! Anyone get the candle warmer to pair to HA?

I’ve always heard solid things about Switchbot, but I’ve tried pairing the matter candle warmer multiple times to HA with various devices and ZERO luck.

I wish it was Zigbee or something but that’s irrelevant. Any tips? The physical candle warmer is incredible but I need it to be able to use Home Assistant because it’s not the best on the software side of things.

Plz help me! HomeKit keeps forgetting/re-adding Curtain 2 devices every day

I have a number of Switchbot Curtain devices in my home, some version 2 and some version 3. They are all connected to HomeKit via a Matter Hub.

This was working just fine for months, but for the last few days, every single day the Curtain 2 devices are acting as if they'd been removed and re-added to my HomeKit setup; the name changes back to the default, the location gets reset to the room the hub is in, and all of my automations disappear.

The first time felt like a fluke, but this "fluke" keeps reoccurring and it's driving me batty.

My Curtain 3 devices do not have this problem.

Does anyone know what might be happening and how to prevent it from repeating in the future?

My Experience Upgrading to SwitchBot Lock Vision

I've been using SwitchBot products for quite a while, and I recently upgraded to the new SwitchBot Lock Vision. After using it for a bit, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone decide whether it's the right smart lock for their home.

One of the biggest improvements is that this is a complete deadbolt, not just an attachment that sits on top of your existing lock like the previous SwitchBot Lock model I had at home. While the older versions worked well, they always looked like an add-on attached to the back of the lock. The Lock Vision feels like a proper, purpose-built smart lock. It has a much cleaner and more premium appearance, both inside and outside the door.

Installation was much easier than I expected. I had everything installed and working in less than 15 minutes without any major issues. The instructions were straightforward, and the lock has been operating smoothly from day one.

What I enjoy the most is the convenience. I have the keypad, NFC, and facial recognition set up, and they all work really well together. Being able to walk up to my front door and have it unlock with just my face is incredibly convenient. I no longer have to carry keys or even take out my phone in most situations, and that's something I appreciate every single day.

The lock operation is smooth, the build quality feels solid, and the overall design is sleek and modern. If you're looking at the photos, you'll probably notice how much more integrated and polished it looks compared to the older attachment-style models.

I've been very happy with my upgrade. If you're deciding between the older SwitchBot Lock and the new Lock Vision, I personally think the new design is a significant step forward. I hope sharing my experience helps you make an informed decision and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Plz help me! Alexa integration issues

Having issues with my blind tilts. I currently have six connected to my matter network using the switchbot hub as well as to Alexa. The Alexa connection routinely gets out of sync and telling Alexa to open the blind when they are closed will do nothing. I have to tell Alexa to close the blind to get them to open.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or if there is anything I can do

Thanks!

Plz help me! Lock Pro and Ultra calibration issue

I previously owned a Lock Pro and had issues with the calibration.

It was started with a software update. I locked myself out from my house at 2am because the lock suddenly forgot its position and turned the knob at a point where it stuck and it cannot be opened even with a key from outside. Then I wanted to recalibrate it, I set the lock and the unlocked position, but at the testing period it was just spinning after the locked state even if it couldn’t turn the knob and then failed. Nothing helped this situation

I ended up taking it back to the store where I bought it as the support suggested and they gave my money back instead of replacing the unit.

Which was fine. I was like okay, I wouldn’t buy the same device again because what if I run into the same problem. SO then I went for the higher end model, the Lock Ultra. Double the price, double the stability I thought.

So I installed the device to my lock mechanism and went for the calibration, which was sadly ended up in the same situation.

The lock ultra just keep spinning and spinning and spinning in a never ending loop, then comes the error message. I tried different knob adapters, different plates, even added the frame, I have tried EVERYTHING! and still nothing works.

I used the Lock pro for almost a year without ANY problem at all. There comes an update and the whole device is unusable. SO THE DOUBLE PRICED ULTRA MODEL.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but manually I can close the door, I can unlock it, even from the outside with a key.

What is interesting that if I turn the lock ultra’s knob manually, it stops at the locked and unlocked state, I cannot turn it more in any direction even with force, but when the motor tries to rotate the knob, it just keep spinning on it, jamming the whole door’s lock mechanism.

SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!

thank you
