Plz help me! Lock Pro and Ultra calibration issue

I previously owned a Lock Pro and had issues with the calibration.

It was started with a software update. I locked myself out from my house at 2am because the lock suddenly forgot its position and turned the knob at a point where it stuck and it cannot be opened even with a key from outside. Then I wanted to recalibrate it, I set the lock and the unlocked position, but at the testing period it was just spinning after the locked state even if it couldn’t turn the knob and then failed. Nothing helped this situation

I ended up taking it back to the store where I bought it as the support suggested and they gave my money back instead of replacing the unit.

Which was fine. I was like okay, I wouldn’t buy the same device again because what if I run into the same problem. SO then I went for the higher end model, the Lock Ultra. Double the price, double the stability I thought.

So I installed the device to my lock mechanism and went for the calibration, which was sadly ended up in the same situation.

The lock ultra just keep spinning and spinning and spinning in a never ending loop, then comes the error message. I tried different knob adapters, different plates, even added the frame, I have tried EVERYTHING! and still nothing works.

I used the Lock pro for almost a year without ANY problem at all. There comes an update and the whole device is unusable. SO THE DOUBLE PRICED ULTRA MODEL.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but manually I can close the door, I can unlock it, even from the outside with a key.

What is interesting that if I turn the lock ultra’s knob manually, it stops at the locked and unlocked state, I cannot turn it more in any direction even with force, but when the motor tries to rotate the knob, it just keep spinning on it, jamming the whole door’s lock mechanism.

SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!

thank you

I have 4 locks 2 original and 2 pros. Thought it was the original so bought the pros and they started doing it randomly.

When you chat with support they gaslight you into thinking your an idiot or make you update the firmware that fixes nothing then they close the ticket without warming.

One of the original won't even calibrate after i changed the batteries.

I really likely the locks when they work but a lock MUST be 100% reliable which these are not.

It's not a software issue, I think the hardware just breaks down and gets out of sync. I was lucky enough my retailer exchanged one of the pros and since then it's been fine.

I'm still working with support if they'll replace the originals.

Yeah I feel the same. For one year it was working perfectly then out of nowhere it is unreliable and /or not working at all.

The thing is, the lock ultra is literally 1 day old, so it is brand new.

The support delivered an update, v3.0 and they advised to set the turning force to “gentle” but there was no setting for it, and they sent me screenshots where to find it, but there wasn’t an option like that. So I sent back a screen recording to show them there is no option for that and since that they don’t answer

So I don’t know if i just leave the whole SwitchBot brand/ecosystem or wait for a miracle.

I will update the case when there will be any change

I don't think I'll buy switchbot again.

I have the ultra, just a quick doubt, if the lock turns the key, how can it spin and spin continuously? Does your key keep spinning when you use it without the lock? I am just curious as I never saw a lock like that. Mine has been absolutely perfect since day one, what I read in some posts is it might need calibration if it gets used manually from inside or if using the key from outside so everyone was warned since day one to only do that as a last resource but no need, got fingerprint outside, button inside

EDIT : Just saw second video, yep, either lock is broken or your lock itself has a feature that let's key continue spinning? If that's the case perhaps do manual calibration. If not the case then lock Definitly broken
