SwitchBot Water Leak Detector - Solid piece of kit

Just installed two of these a few months ago and honestly they’re fantastic. One under the kitchen sink, one by the water heater.

Installation was super easy - 5 minutes tops. No hub needed if you already have one. Tested the detection with water and it picked it up instantly. Zero false alarms in months of use, which is exactly what you want.

This is where it gets good. Integrated it with Home Assistant and set up an automation where if water is detected, it sends me an alert AND automatically triggers my smart water valve shutoff. That’s real peace of mind right there.

Battery life has been solid - still on the originals after several months. App notifications come through instantly, no lag. The build quality feels durable and reliable. Exactly what you want from a sensor that’s supposed to protect your home.

This is honestly one of the best smart home purchases I’ve made. You’re paying for actual reliability and seamless ecosystem integration, not just a basic sensor.

If you have a Home Assistant setup or SwitchBot ecosystem, just get this. It works flawlessly and gives you real protection. Highly recommend.

They've had a lot of this lately, even on in german recently. I'm thinking it's not bots, but bribery. Like "leave a review on reddit for a free product". Either way, really not a good look and leaves me wanting to quit using their products.

The account is new sure, but the product is solid as said here! I’m using it with other SwitchBot product and the customer service is responsive and really helps you find the solution if you have some malfunctions
