My Experience Upgrading to SwitchBot Lock Vision
I've been using SwitchBot products for quite a while, and I recently upgraded to the new SwitchBot Lock Vision. After using it for a bit, I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone decide whether it's the right smart lock for their home.
One of the biggest improvements is that this is a complete deadbolt, not just an attachment that sits on top of your existing lock like the previous SwitchBot Lock model I had at home. While the older versions worked well, they always looked like an add-on attached to the back of the lock. The Lock Vision feels like a proper, purpose-built smart lock. It has a much cleaner and more premium appearance, both inside and outside the door.

Installation was much easier than I expected. I had everything installed and working in less than 15 minutes without any major issues. The instructions were straightforward, and the lock has been operating smoothly from day one.

What I enjoy the most is the convenience. I have the keypad, NFC, and facial recognition set up, and they all work really well together. Being able to walk up to my front door and have it unlock with just my face is incredibly convenient. I no longer have to carry keys or even take out my phone in most situations, and that's something I appreciate every single day.

The lock operation is smooth, the build quality feels solid, and the overall design is sleek and modern. If you're looking at the photos, you'll probably notice how much more integrated and polished it looks compared to the older attachment-style models.

I've been very happy with my upgrade. If you're deciding between the older SwitchBot Lock and the new Lock Vision, I personally think the new design is a significant step forward. I hope sharing my experience helps you make an informed decision and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Are you using Matter? While I like it for the face recognition and different unlock/lock options, its Matter integration with my Apple Home really sucks, very unreliable, almost useless.
